I AM BUYING FIFA 2006 ONLY IF they can manage to make a game more similar to PES 4 and KEEP the nice FIFA licenses. In other words: Call Konami or send a spy.

(1) Write a brand new and much improved gameplay and AI engine...not tweaked, but brand new.
(2) "crowd AI" script that makes the crowd behave like a real crowd.
(3) Real editing capability, out of the box.
(4) A commitment/oath to NOT do to the soccer market what EA did to the gridiron (Madden) market.
Player movment and crowd reaction are the very things fans know the most about, period. Get that right, and I'll buy it, even without (3). With (3) also, I might even advocate it.
(4) is the dealbreaker though. I don't want EA imposing itself monopolistically in the football arena the way it id in freezing out SEGA/ESPN in the girdiron arena.

I think everyone here knows that we'll all buy FIFA 06 whether it sucks or not, because everyone knows that EA does make good games (even if we feel they are capable of more) and we're all curious of what the new one will look like.

I didnt buy 2003, got it for christmas, didnt buy 2004, got it for christmas, bought euro 2004 because of the fact that it was in portugal, didnt even buy 2005, and why well the menues were too slow and supposedly 2005 they were fast so whatever here goes... i'll only buy 2006 if they make the career mode like madden 2005 if not better, roster updates, edit options for players and teams, create-a-team option like in madden, better gameplay, indoor soccer, better net physics.. i could go on and on but you all get the point.

it is a footbal SIMULATOR, not just a lame game... every FIFA is worse than the previous one!! Last good FIFA I remember: 98, and by that year's standards.
it has REAL graphics and animations...
it has REAL atmosphere...
I could dribble, not just play with passes...
To sum up, if it were NEARER to reality... at this time there's NO WAY FIFA can outdo WE/PES...

cause you can edit your uniforms and they have mant cool uniform patterns that you can go by and when you score you can really feel it inside yourself and plus they celebrate with the cup and when you make a player it doesnt look tacky like the fifa create a player,it fits just nicely with the whole squad,they have legendary squads like legend argentina legend brazil etc.
this proves that licensing doesnt make a difference.atleast their argentina kit is descent and you can edit what you dont like,

I agree on every point. I played W11 for the 1st time the other day and was pissed to see the fact that W11 has Classic Argentina and Brazil with Maradona and Pele, all this while FIFA still doesn’t bring that back. I hear they had it once as well.
I would love to play with classic squads form the 60s, 70s and 80s. EA has the $$$$ power to do it if they want to. I haven't played pes yet (the XBOX is limited to FIFA), but i am sure it has more emotion than FIFA.

The licensing does make a huge difference, if you ask any mother, father, or any other person who doesn't know about the gameplay being shoddy in FIFA they would go for that game because of the hype and licensing. EA are very good at what they do and thats not compile good sports games, it's making lots of da moolah! We will always get the FIFA games because they promise lots of thing that we have requested, put them on the box and sells it to us regardless of whether we know its a con.
And yes, if we stop buying, they'll stop making, if they're not making money from something they'll stop it because its not worth their time in money.
