Champions League - Last Sixteen - 2007/2008

I don't believe it..........another break for Man United!!!!

Ronaldinho is out for the rest of the season. So let's see they avoid Chelsea in the Champions League AGAIN, they get Roma without Totti, they get Barcelona without Ronaldinho.......while we keep getting quarter-finals from hell. This is just not fair!!! Even if Messi is back, he WILL NOT have recovered his form in time for them.....that's for sure!!! They have been handed the ticket to Moscow on a damn silver platter......

Pathetic!!!

Not that I'm a Man U supporter or anything, but you say all that as if they have some sort of control over injuries in other teams. Grow up buddy. Liverpool got a hell of a result at the Emirates, I would worry about the return leg of your team if I were you.

Get real, I'd rather be facing Roma.

And I'm cursing our luck, IN COMPARISON TO THEIRS(over the past few seasons)......nothing to do with control over injuries. I'm sure you'd agree that Liverpool has seen MORE than its fair share of Chelsea, AS A RESULT of CL draws over the past few years....whereas ManU......hasn't....but, instead, thanks to that same luck, is facing weakened squads.

come on newbie, despite luck playing an important factor, you can't always moan about that, great teams always get results even if things are against them, i agree there's a weird thing going on with us constantly facing each other in the semi-finals, but thats life, don't tell you're already tired of playing against us, u've won the CL SF against us twice, so no reason for u to be worried of us.....hehe

Help?

In all fairness. Would Ronaldinho really have played anyway, had he been fit?

yeah Ronaldinho pretty much sucks right about now...I don't see what difference that really makes.

sooner (rather than later) it will catch up with us....you know what they say about third time's the charm and and that ****.......

That is so 2005!

sooner (rather than later) it will catch up with us....

I think more than anything, what annoys me is how we keep having to sacrifice the EPL for the sake of the CL. What's the net result you ask.....they are on the verge of overtaking us in the domestic league trophy category. I would have liked us to atleast make an attempt at delaying the inevitable. An easier CL draw would have facilitated such an attempt.

EDIT: There! I'm done with this nonsense now and am bored of it as well........

I don't see any reason to complain about United's luck.

Ronaldinho is a liability and it's unlucky for United that he is out. Otherwise, maybe he would have somehow made it into the team and weakened us further, as if we aren't weak enough already.

And seeing what United did to Roma, I don't know if Totti would have been of much help.

Hours left until the Chelsea game.
The hearts of 30,000,000 million Fenerbahce fans are going to be with their team today, come on boys, you will not be alone in that stadium, the millions will be waiting for you at the airport.
The run will continue.
Come on boys, come on.
You will be going to Moscow!

Fener loves to score in away games, watch out Chelsea, we dont fear anyone!
If you have Drogba, we have Lugano to stop it
Also, watch out for Alex de Souza during indirect freekicks (for direct ones, we prefer Wederson or Roberto Carlos;))
Deivid will be as always, a magician..
Maldonado, you are an experienced midfielder, i think one of the best in your country, come on man, make sure their midfield doesnt run through you
Mehmet Aurelio, what can i say, the team relies on your excellent leadership in the pitch, your composure will be needed every minute, take care of your team mates Aurelio, i believe in you!
Volkan, you are capable to make excellent saves, you just have to be on your good day, come on lad, this is the day that its just needs be your good one.

BRING IT ON CHELSEA!

What a game between Liverpool and Arsenal, great match of football, as a neutral I have won, thought I cant say the same for the arsenal faithful...

Eboue is useless. Walcott what can you say. The foul for the penalty looked to have started out the box. Really though Fabregas looked out of Gas and Eboue shouldn't be starting for us on the right hand side. Maybe Wenger will now realise this and fix it up.

Damn I felt a bit sorry for Arsenal. Seconds after they had scored they got a penalty against them. What a run by Walcott BTW...

In the end it could've gone either way and I think both teams deserved to go through. And ofcourse a great match for a neutral like me.

I think it was an even game, but Fener dominated the game most of the time and Chelsea was the side that was dangerous with their counter-attacks (which resulted in the late second goal)
Hilario made some crucial saves and i think those saved the day for Chelski.
I dont know how many of you watched this game instead of the other derby but for those that did watch it, i m sure we'll all agree the fair result tonight would have been a draw, both teams were evenly dangerous and i even think Fener played better today than they did in the first leg.
The first goal was an unlucky one and the second was just minutes before the finale whistle, a random counter attack and there you go. :(
But ofcourse, i give full credit to Ballack and Lampard, they are world-class players.
Also i must say for most of the times i thought i was watching a game from Istanbul because 4000 Fener fans were much louder and supportive then the Chelsea supporters, the french commentator even commented on it on my channel and said, Turks find a way to dominate the ground whenever its given a chance, both on and off the pitch. i guess that was funny in a way :)

Conclusion- Well done Chelsea. fair play to you and good luck. But for all those under rated international teams out there, listen to me, you can do it, these teams you think so highly are just bunch of guys in bone and flesh, just like you and me. If you just show them you are not going to take crap from them and just "bring it on" then you ll see they soon panic and make mistakes easily. So go for it, dont be scared, its all about how much you can believe..
I think Fener will use this years experience and build on it next year,
watch out europe,
it aint over

watching the Fener game on Sky Sports ... thought about putting it on mute coz Ray Wilkins is one biased motherf*cker ... if the bias is kind of implied, it's ok ... but this is shameless ... you're not just being broadcast in England, you know? anyway, the game seems very déjà vu as well ...

yeah, even as a fan I would have to admit Ray is a bit too biased to do commentary on Sky....., but Ray's shown to be biased towards all the English clubs, watched Roma/Utd, he was licking every Utd players' arse every time they got the ball!!
But bear in mind, he was a great player for us, but it was Sky's decision to put him on as 2nd commentator, not his fault really........just send Sky an email and you've done your bit.....cheers
and we're through!!

tense moments in latter stages of the game, but Lamps's goal sealed it for us, two downsides was Carlo injured and Essien missing the next game, he was monstrous and will be missed........

btw, Turk123, I disagree, neither team dominated the game, both of our teams kept giving the ball away in the final third, the difference between us was just that we created more chances and we took 2 of our chances.

It's a complete farce. The penalty incident was almost the same the Kuyt's hold on Hleb, except being touched and not held back. I am truly gutted because we really deserved to go through.

Kuyt's hold on Hleb had much more contact than today's penalty against Arsenal, but the angle was very awkward for the ref and the penalty was given. Anyway, as already mentioned, great game for a neutral. I thought Arsenal was through, but you never know. It's exciting to see how minutes, even seconds change the whole scenario around, I felt sorry for Arsenal fans, they were still celebrating their goal when BOOM! penalty.

If Bayern goes through this much drama on Thursday, my heart will explode. Let's go BAYERN!
