Hiya pete. It's been a while innit?

On the same note however, I see the Spurs and Liverpool fixtures as troubling since both teams have performed well at home(Liverpool in contrast to their away form).
The rest of the fixtures we're playing at the Bridge, so I'd be disappointed if we dropped any points.
Arsenal are out of the Champions League, so they'll be making sure they don't slip up their last chance for silverware this season.
As for United, we'll see. :D

lol we're are in the same boat as Arsenal haha. Except that we have the Carling cup. Anything can happen in 5 games, still a title race to me.

Still a tight title race that's sure. :)

Good news is that both A.Cole, Bane and possibly Essien will be back for our fixtures in April. :D

Looks like Malouda is getting some recognition for his performances.

He just won the Barclay's Player of the Month Award.

Congratulations to Flo.(Not the other one, mind you)

Some more questionable refereeing in Chelsea's favour

Matter of opinion as usual. Gabby had hold of Mikel's shirt with his left hand, which pulled Mikel off balance as he tried to hold Gabby off. I've seen them given, and I've seen them not given, so it's nice for us that Webb regarded the issue as a 50/50. Well done Mr Webb:innocent_smile_1:

I really don't think that Villa were going to win this game, even if they would have got their penalty appeal granted. They had the whole match to score a goal, but didn't even come close. They worked hard, but you need more than effort to win a game.

Anyhow, 3-0 to us and good luck to Portsmouth tomorrow.

The NEW Wembley pitch is a disgrace. This was the first game to be played on it, since the last load of soggy mud was dug up and thrown away. It looks like the same mistakes have been made yet again. The pitch was hopeless and it was dangerous.

Yes, and Vidic should've been sent off in the Carling Cup final. ;)

It's pointless to argue about this, we got hard done by in terms of penalties at other times, same as other teams, that's just too bad for Villa.

But all in all, when did Villa actually trouble Petr Cech?

The pitch was effin horrible. First time I've seen so many players slip, part me thinks that even the penalty appeal was a mix of a slip by Agbonlahor, you should notice how he was pulling Mikel's shirt as he went down. Sure there was contact but it was a bit soft considering Mikel tried to impede only with his knee.

Could've been a penalty on another day with another ref, but it's useless for us and Villa to ponder about it. Villa tired out in the final quarter of the match, just like they did at the Bridge.

Love it how both of you conveniently decided to side-step the John Terry tackle, which is what I really care about, because he should be suspended for the next three EPL games right now, rather than get off with a yellow. ;)

No No No, you're so wrong. That rule just applies for Manchester United players, John Terry is not eligible for that. Yellow card more than enough.

He got the ball before he made contact with the man. Plus, the soggy pitch kept JT sliding further than he meant to. That's how I saw it anyhow, and the ref must have thought that too. I thought the yellow was a bit harsh. :browsmiley:

If it was a United player, I'm sure he would say it should have been red lol

That was a reckless tackle and he didn't seem to get anywhere near the ball. Deserved the yellow and could've been red as well. And the pitch condition should NOT be an excuse.

Moan all you want. They both went for the ball, it was a yellow card, the referee dealt with it and it was done and dusted there.

As if Utd haven't had any decision go in favour of them in the past.

You can complain all you want in your own thread.

I'd rather hear thoughts about the game or any other relating to this club rather than hear whingeing from fans of other clubs who are not even involved in the FA Cup anymore.

Read well. I said it should've been a yellow. I didn't moan about anything. I just commented on the video posted above thats it.

No, that looks like a pretty clear red to me. He went in too hard for the ball and never made an attempt to pull-out of the challenge. Milner's leg could have easily snapped in two there. Can't see how you can even argue that it was just a yellow, apart from Terry touching the ball first, he barely made contact with it and clearly was looking to take out Milner. And Milner didn't go for the ball, he HAD the ball. United would be getting red cards for those kind of lunges without even touching players (Ronaldo), so you should feel very fortunate to have your captain playing next week.

But you can have your thread back.

Yes, you said it deserved a yellow card and he did got a yellow card. If it was Mike Dean it could've possibly been red.

I'm not referring to you alone, I'm referring to the Utd contingent that came to whinge about the challenge here as a whole.

Thank you, Help. Much appreciated.

Didn't see it, but the tackle could've definitely beena r ed, although it DOES look like he slides too far. Had Milner not been moving, he would've taken the ball past him, I think. Anyway, glad he wasn't sent off, glad for the win, and glad Blackburn have been fair and tied ManU like they tied us. Ewood was where ManU were most likely to win out of their remaining matches, so i's a good result.

We must, must, MUST beat Bolton Tuesday. We simply cannot afford to lose this chance. It would give us a tiny buffer, and considering we've still got Spurs and Pool away, it would be great for us. The league is ours if we want it, let's take it.
