hahahahahahaaahhaah Chelsea, NOT win the title !!. they have already won it just look at their squad
Please tell me you're not that shallow..You of all people should know that a star studded squad doesn't always have it all their way.

Its not about being "star studded" is it? Man U and Arsenal proved that last season. The reason we won it last year was not due to having stars in the squad. In fact most of our players only earned that tag when the season was over.It was due to the fact that on and off the pitch our players were a team. They played with each other and for each other. Now that is one thing we have that Arsenal and Man U do not have.....team spirit, and also self belief. So far this pre-season Man U have shown a complete lack of both, and Wenger even admits that his hardest job before the season starts is to raise his squads confidence and self belief, which after selling Viera has knocked his players for six.Chelsea have barely changed the squad since last season, apart from adding Crespo and Del Horno, and neither Man U or Arsenal have added anyone to their squads who are gonna make a slight bit of difference for them.As we all know, football is a funny game where the strangest things can happen, but really,I just cannot see where the challenge is gonna be coming from to prevent us winning it again.People wont like the over confidence that i do know, but if i could see a weakness in Chelsea i would worry about it....but i cant see any weakness.so i aint worried........ :ewan:

Of course, it's extremely hard to see any weakness in your squad, but you had one exceptional season last season. What injuries were there to disrupt your squad? When you have a player like Lampard available for the whole season, your engine, available for the season, it's hard to not be successfull. Sure you get a few sprinkles along the way, Robben, Bridge etc but the core of your squad remained and that's why you were so consistent. You have an exceptional squad, with great spirit yes, but you were also extremely lucky when it came to injuries, the timing of these injuries, suspensions etc.

Now look at us and Arsenal. We started the season against you, without Scholes, Rio, Ronaldo, Heinze, Ruud....are you kidding me? Our whole season was constantly disrupted and full of injuries, suspensions, poor finishing, superb goalkeepers, bunker defenses etc...we never stood a chance.

Who's to say that you will still have that same luck when it comes to injuries etc? You never know how a season will unfold, so when I see people brushing us off just because we didn't sign some superstar this season, and already handing you the title, I disagree.

He makes a point. If Lampard and Terry get injured you won't be able to replace thier presence in the team. Especially Terry. And Makelele.

Gallas and Carvalho can replace Terry

Lampard is the only one,so Chelsea is trying to buy essien,if the deal come close

Chelsea has no weakness

well thats your perogative man.....i can understand that.As i said its a funny game where the unexpected usually happens. We also faced bunker defences remember. You say that Robbens and Duffs and Drogba's injuries didnt affect us?Of course they did .They changed our whole ethos towards the end of the season. We had to adjust big time when those players went missing, especially Duff and Robben. And we do appreciate what can happen when your squad is stretched, man look at the 2 Liverpool games in the CL.So tpo say we never miss a player if he is injured is not true.We may have another player to replace him with but he is always gonna be less able in one way or another.Remember we had Drogba missing most of the season and Kezman was hopeless.Jose had banked on Drogba being our main striker for the season but we had to rethink that.Eidur was our best and damn near only striker all season. Its just fortunate that we dont rely on the strikers only ,to score the goals.
To be honest ,with the amount of games that have to be played this season, the squad will see some rotation.Thats when Jose's managerial prowess will be tested. He will have to gamble on players at certain times of the season and that is when things could take a turn for the worse. But you gotta trust him to do the right thing.
Personally i'd like to make the EPL the priority this year. The CL can wait a bit again.I just wany 2 back to back titles and then Jose can do whatever he likes............... :ewan:

I don't think you understand the importance of those players. Technically they can be replaced but they are the backbone of the team losing them will be impossible to replace considering they offer mental support and solidity.

Yes they do without a doubt. But i would think that Jose and the squad have considered what to do if the unthinkable does happen,so it wont be a bolt out of the blue with no plan B.I think psycologically, the team will just work through an injury crises. Its a question of whether the players available to replace Frank or Maka for instance, are up to the job.I think they will be.But you are right in that everyone likes to see Frank on the pitch and ready to go.

Do you really think Jose didn't notice this might happen and have no plan for this?

You better worry about Henry, and trying to replace Vieira.

You know, trying to replace your captain and former captain?

Talk about presence huh?

Luck with injuries?

We lost two of our full backs for an entire season, playing a centre back at left back and a shakey right back.

One of our centre backs was injured for a long time during a hectic period of games.

Our captain had a broken toe for the last few months, as did our main midfield man and both played in pain.

We lost both our wingers at a time when it mattered most, and then had to play a central midfielder out wide.

We also lost one of our forwards for 3months.

Yea, we had no disruptions.

Obviously. But last year you had no injuries to any vital players in your team. We had Gilberto, Vieira, Henry and Campbell out at certain points in the season.
Refer to post above.

Tell me losing both your wingers is not vital, as both your full backs, virtually robbing your team of any width.

Since the beginning of the Community Shield (1908) only 14 teams(could be wrong about that number, though) have won the league after winning the Shield :p

Is it 14 different teams or 14 times ?
Because if it's only 14 times then it's far worse.

Even if Chelsea win it, I don't think they can lose the league. And I'm not being shallow or anything. After what Chelsea had produced last season, they got stronger and Arsenal didn't really (Vieira), or at least they didn't strengthen themselves as much as Chelsea. I can't see anyone else winning it. Mainly because of Mourinho.

And talk about how you got only 1 point for it, and let in two goals at your home ground and then talk about how we extended that lead we came into Highbury with, and talk about how it grew and grew.
