But that's just me and I'm really not easily amused.
I like my comedy meaningful or else I'd rather watch American Pie than listening to a guy talk about differences between men and women for an hour. At least I get to see chicks while I listen to the same type of jokes.
Hence why Hicks is the greatest comedian of all time, more than a comedian actually, a philosopher. And on a lower step Lenny Bruce and George Carlin.

How can anyone think Chris Rock isn't funny? He's hilarious. He's one of the best commedians ever, hell as much as I love Dave Chappelle (and I LOVE him), he can't touch Chris Rock as a stand up. Whoever started this thread is an idiot. Rony.

The last stand up comedy special Chappelle did was terrible ("For what it's Worth" I beleive it was called), I think I got maybe 2 minor chuckles out of it...and I'm a big fan of his. His earlier stand-up was great, but he's a lot better in sketch comedy IMO. Chris Rock I think is similar in a lot of ways, same goes for Martin Lawrence. Thier earlier stuff is great, but now their stand-up comedy has gotten kinda stale, same sorta jokes/subject matter just rehashed..

He sure does, I saw him doing stand-up long before the Daily Show. There's a really good HBO special he did a while back that's hilarious, you could probably download it somewhere. I think it was called " Jon Stewart: Unleavened" it's from like 1998 I beleive, but it's still pure gold.

I was watching Martin Lawrence stand up one time, it was pretty funny...
What I don't get is Dane Cook though... Why are people so excited about him?
His "Guy in a Superman Tshirt" skit is really not funny at all but people seem to be talking about it all the time. I don't know his other stuff, but if that's supposed to be one of his best then he sucks.

Martin Lawrence's "You so Crazy" stand-up special was awesome, but I think he's gone downhill since then...and that was from like 1994

Dane Cook is hilarious. Kind of stupid comedy, but he is insightful at points.
Try his CD's, Harmful if swallowed, and his new one, Retaliation(sp??).
