oh how i hate libertadores refereeing. obviously i say this now because i'm pissed off since corinthians just got ****ed up, but it's ridiculous how violent are the matches of this competition. refereeing has been poor all over the world, but it's worse on conmebol events.

corinthians defence is an unfunny joke. argh.

Don't think that by this, in anyway I will begin to believe we can still win it, from what I'm seeing on the other teams, there's no chance.

But atleast we'll go out with a good show. (6) ]
Definitely, this was certainly a pleasant surprise but I'm not expecting much. It'd be great if we could pull out some sort of magical run though. :p

Is Vela playing for Celta's reserves or youth team right now? I've heard nothing about him lately.

Really happy River won.

I know you Brazilians dispise it when Argentina acts the way they do vs. you guys (IE: Spit, act tough, cleet to knee cap, push faces, sh*t talk, elbow to face etc etc. But again I have to say that nothing makes me happier to watch an ARgentinian or Uruguayan club (or NT) look into the faces of "Brazilian Superiority" and just say "F*ck you and your family" (where most nations worldwide cant really say that because they are too far from the Brazilian players.........you know with defending 11 men back I mean :p :funny: ) It like gets my blood boiling with an adrenaline rush.

Is that some kind of inferiority complex you have? like you're all S. Am. to stick it to the European clubs, "they're rich and they've got our best players so it's such a wonderful feat when we beat them" or something, now it's about acting like animals to beat brazilian clubs. River didn't need that last time around, they outplayed Corinthians both legs and never did they resort to violence. but what they did to Mascherano yesterday was awful. he didn't touch an argie, he gets a red, yet when he got caught really bad, it's a yellow...

I dont think Brazil will ever learn. Corinthians players were so angry today, like they were constantly losing concentration over the game (Do they know that this strategy has been used since forever now?)

Like there was nothing to be angry about... the fact that someone's been drinking his own urine since forever doesn't make me feel better about it, or not want to puke when I see it...

Congrats River. (so far ...but 2nd leg will be tough)

Pretty much the only thing I agree with you in your post

And as for Inter tomorow. Well, its gonna get violent. (I heard that the managment had to "teach" our PAraguayan players (Paniagua...good player, he'll be at the World Cup), "our way of playing" for tomorow's game (6) :hump: (6) )

<The last time I saw Nacional go against all odds and almost win on just pure balls was vs. Santos 4 years ago, and if ppl remember, it was one of the most violent and Brutal battles in the history of Libertadores (Robinho couldnt walk for 2 weeks after the 2 legs.......I was even shocked.). <OH And when we beat PSV Eindhoven, we killed them in that game <roughed out i mean>

I hope we dont play that way until the 2nd leg though (dont want 5 red cards before the 2nd leg

Using the tricks is part of the game. Being proud of it is another matter. but to each his own I guess..

See, I know that Brazilians are right when it comes to "fouling/roughin up" etc. But I find it so interesting how nations vary. Like every nation in South America (especially Brazil) , their medias would act with repulsion by the way River played.

But in Uruguay? Soccer shows, reporters, you'd see them constantly talking about the games and praising the fouls and acting tough/macho. And the fans? Its the greatest high there can be.

(I remember watching Uruguay/Peru in a bar this year (0-0 tie in PEru). And when Peru started playing a little better, Uruguay (especially Delgado and Garcia) RIPPED APART like 4 players (I couldnt believe they didnt get suspended, let alone red carded).
the PEruvians were screaming "Bastard!!!! Cheaters!!!!" , while the Uruguayans (including me :p) were on our cheering and laughing at the fouls like they were the coolest things <And the funny thing is that teams throughout history have actually tried to "turn the tide" on Argentina/Uruguay a few times (and tried fouling US) and well...lol.......ok 1 famous story is Penarol vs. Flamengo in 1970s (mid 70s), Copa Libertadores IN BRAZIL.

The Brazilian player hit one of the Uruguayan midfielders with an elbow when he wasnt looking. (This is a famous/funny story, but i forgot the player names). Well long story short, the Uruguyan player chased the Brazilian (in the middle of the game!!!!), out into the tunner (just picture them pushing people out of the way, lol).......into the hallway .........and outside to the PARKING LOT (where the Brazilian pretty much got beat up, and im guessing the Uruguayan got suspended).

I know it's not great. But I always found it so interestng how some nations differ from others (when I was a kid in Uruguay, they teach us "Win at all costs, no matter what".
My Colombian friend always told me that they taught "Respect and team cooporation" there, and fouling was almost completely out of the question.

Im not saying what River did was good or bad (though I loved it <and so did my family>) but Its interesting how different many nations are. (Though even though others arent as tough as us 2 (arg/uru) , their fouls are just as dangerous. .....As seen by a perfect example that my dad had been saying for years
1) an italian fouls cleverly, he does it subtly and keeps walking as if nothing
2) but a Uruguayan makes it so obvious and like stands over the victim as if it's a trophy/victory celebration or something (IE: Uruguay/ecuador......Garcia elbowed Some forward , he fell on the floor and Garcia layed down beside him for 1 minute to insult him like crazy (you know the type I assume, they were doing it to Tevez all night)

anyways, i have to get studying :S, this is a good subject, keep it up.

I was so angry with a couple of my friends watching the match at a local peruvian bar. Like when the defenders from Uruguay thinking they were playing Rugby. I was in a bar and the URUGUAY fans in the bar were like come on guys take it like a man. I was like what the f*ck BOOOO fuera m!erda...blah blah. But hey it was fun and I did meet this beautiful uruguayan chick which after the watching the match in the bar we ended up together but I still think to this day there parents hate me.

that's a good story. The bar i go to you don't see too many women (Except when Venezuela plays :hump: :hump: )

Hey Bruno, hows Paniagua doing for la seleccion?

Well I heard he had played his first game a while back. He scored two goals and the Spanish press said that "he has a bright future ahead of him"....

Of course Ferrari should been red carded. That was violent. It was like the first foul Del Horno (Chelsea) did to Messi (Barca)

But then luckly he calm down.

Mascherano foul wasnt for a yellow card. But Gallardo did what Tevez did the entire match. And the ref was showing Yellow cards everywhere.

Corinthians without Mascherano lose more than we do without Talamonti. That in my opinion didnt deserve the 2nd yellow.

he's not a starter for the national team,in fact I don't think he played a single minute during the world cup qualifying. And honestly, I don't think he'll even make it to the final list of players for the WC.
I think he played a few friendlies for the national team recently (against Mexico and Wales I think) so if he keeps doing a good job at Nacional he might get a spot for Paraguay.

How is Britez doing in Nacional?

In my opinion, both Paraguayans have been mediocre. Paniagua can't send a decent cross to save his life, and the only match in which I was pleased with Britez was against Rentistas, in which he scored a goal but it was disallowed (erroneously).

I'm watching the Nacional vs. Inter match right now. The ref just screwed us by disregarding a clear handball that resulted shortly after in Inter's equalizer. No surprise since the ref and linesmen are Colombian. Inter hasn't done squat to deserve their goal, so, while I'm not a subscriber to rough play, I hope Jaume fractures a couple of their players before he gets sent off.

EDIT: Shameful second half, both our performance and the ref's decisions. I think he was trying to somehow compensate his **** up from the first half. In any case, the way we played the second half, we didn't even deserve the equalizer. :nape:

We'll our Libertadores is over. 1-2 loss.

All I can say is that I think Uruguay are geniuses in making people angry and get Two red cards (And that Colombian mother ****er who celebrated the goal the way he did, got murdered and deserved it. (Every player on the field wanted to fight him). On top of that, we got HIM angry enough to block the Free kick and get a red card , brilliant.

But Nacional didnt need to press THE ENTIRE GAME (as if it was the 89th minute or something). There was no ideas.
The only guy who played godly (and im serious, this kid is going to be freaken huge in the future.....like Casal must be doing his evil laugh somewhere, is Castro. Jesus Christ, this guy can play. Only him and Malaka saved themselves today

And PG, dont you think Bava was way out of position in the Free kick goal? I kept screaming at the TV and my family was like : "no, he cant be that stupid, I bet he's just arming the wall". I felt like killing him.

What a ******* terrible waste. Atleast we're going to win the Uruguayan championship 100% (NAcional is superior to every team by far). <But the sad part is that we didnt need to hurry up, Inter are superior, but we still could have won :(

The paraguayan did ok today but I was really happy with his attitude (He was the guy who fought the most). And he was the one picking the fight vs. The COlombian who towered over him by like 3 feet (not saying its good that he wanted to fight him, but i admired his fighting spirit.) <sp?>

quoted for truth.

imho he was trying to compensate for Mascherano's sending off, only that River had the game safe in their hands when he decided to do that...

it'll be a cracking match Thursday, the tickets have sold out already.

I'm not sure what he was doing, but whatever it was, it cost us the lead. I wonder if we'd have played so poorly in the second half if we'd gone to the break 1-0 up.
