Yep. Seeing them like beach balls. Such a tough call either way for ashes squad. With Marsh and Watson both going, there will only be room for one back you batsman, and they're not likely to play a test. Do you take him or a young bloke?

Provided everyone stays fully fit, probably a young guy - but anything can happen with injuries especially the dodginess of a couple of players (Clarke)

Yeah that's the difficulty...Do you take Chris Lynn or Joe Burns for experience, or Adam Voges in case a batsman is injured and we need somebody to step in.

This is an absolutely ridiculous claim. It's cricket. Playing for a tie is ludicrous.
 ugh:

my comment was tongue-in-cheek ... Pak and Ireland could only progress together if they tied ... it would have been dubious enough in footie, let alone cricket ...

Alex;3795119 said:
And to do so would be match fixing. Unless you're trying to win a game, you're attempting to fix the result. Simple.
it's not matchfixing to play for a point (this is obviously clearer in soccer) ... but it is unsporting ...

Cricket and soccer are completely different games. You can't just defend for a draw in one day cricket. You know that and are simply being stubborn and difficult.

So basically Aotearoa is going into a final either against a team that it's already beaten in the CWC pool phase who's already beaten india in a warm-up before the tournament. Cool story, brah.

Hardly beat. A final against NZ shouldn't really be competitive for either team on the big MCG

Yeah, surely they'll now regret spending all lead in games on tiny ovals.

Can any of you guys explain Cricket national-team eligibility rules? There are three players at this CWC who've played for 2 different teams over the course of their careers. How does that work?

Citizenship. And you need to wait, I believe, five years before representing a different nation (possibly less if it's changing from affiliate to full nation and vv)

India will win this easily. Finch hurt Australia big time. Put too much pressure on the middle order. Striking in the 60s (50s most of the match) isn't good enough for a one day international on an absolutely flat track.

Aussie bowlers seem to be making light work of the Indian RR.

They collapsed big time. In any case, finch striking at under 60 most of the game isn't good enough.
