Finch getting out early was the best thing that could have happened for us. He'd have hogged the strike, built pressure and left Warner to do something stupid at the other end.

Obviously not a fan of the big man?

My predictions have been on point lately, called the final, draw in the shield and a non-event of a final..

congrats ... disappointing final -- I was hoping for the best when the Kiwis won the toss and elected to bat ... oh well ...

also, second consecutive host to win the title ... guess that'll continue in twenty ninetee-oh wait, England is hosting next! no chance! :-D

actually, I'm gonna be living in England for a bit, and I'm hoping to see a rejuvenated test side -- featuring a notable South African -- put on a decent show in the Ashes ...

I was, until this summer. He never rotates the strike and takes too long to start scoring fast. He's like the one day version of Ed Cowan. Scores ok himself, but build pressure on the guy at the other end.

Agree that it was a bit disappointing. I think the better side won, but it would gave been good if they'd made a game out of it. Anti climax after a good tournament.

Will be interesting to see what England do with said South African

went back to look at my final fantasy standings ... missed 6-7 games, but ended up in the top 5% worldwide ... not bad ...

Gave up after first lot of trades, when I realised they got reset and I'd been saving them

Who would have thought that picking a guy that averages 45 in first class, and is coming off a big summer would lead to test success. Rather than picking blokes who have good technique but have never averaged out of the 30s in first class :p

It's funny because, Marsh looked really clean and was hitting the middle nicely before that throwaway shot

He always does. But it's not about how you make runs, it's whether you make them. And Marsh always looks good then gets out cheaply.

Bump for Ashes

Looks like both Marshes will miss out on T1, with Watson's English experience dragging him through, ditto Rodgers

More Watson's bowling than English experience.

And Rogers test record is still better than Shaun Marsh's - and his first class record far superior. Rogers over S Marsh was a no brainer.

Marsh vs Watson came down more to what they offer as an all rounder. If it was a batting position Marsh would beat Watson, I'm sure. But Watson can tie an end down with tight bowling, and he can swing the ball. And at the end of the day, if it was a purely batting position, we wouldn't be looking at either of them.

Sir_Didier_Drogba won't contribute here any more. He's a typical Englishmen. Only cares about cricket when they're winning.

Australia losing the Ashes is like NSW losing State of Origin. It's healthy for the contest, as suddenly both sets of fans care. NSW fans care when they're losing - so suddenly Origin gets huge audiences. England fans care when they're winning, so suddenly it gets huge interest.

Both Australia and Queensland follow both regardless.

Rogers is old as shit and didn't have an ideal preparation though

Be nice to win in the UK for the first time since 2002

Marsh has rarely opened in red ball cricket. And isn't the sort of bloke I'd want to rely on facing a swinging Duke early on.
