It's a little tally of the people who work there and who they are voting for. I know that Slate is considered quite left, but holy ****!!

At least they're open about it. Why isn't Fox News, the Washington Times or the Wall Street Journal having a tally of their writers and editors?

I would actually like to know as well. And that goes for all the major news orgs. I think you would be surprised at who some of the people would vote for. I am also surprised that there are not more votes for third party candidates, knowing the stuff some of the journalists know about "politics."

Americans are generally optomistic and that is something you are osrely lacking.

Wrong again! Americans don't seem too optimistic:

Consumer Confidence at 7-Month Low

There's being optimistic, and there's being stupid or being a member of the Bush campaign. Putting a happy face on an economy that has lost jobs for the first time in 70 years (lost a million of them at that), that is creating new jobs that average $9000 less than the ones lost, with record deficits adding on to the birth tax, with millions losing health care and falling into poverty, and that is beseiged by record oil prices is not "optimistic," it's laughable. What's the first step in AA? Admit you have a problem. And the fact that Bush will not look at this poor economy and admit the tax cuts and rampant overspending were a failure explains why the economy just will not improve. See also: failed Iraq occupation.

By the way, I like how as soon as Scandinavia's robust economy counters your argument about liberalism bankrupting Europe, Scandinavia is no longer part of Europe in your mind

Haha yeah (H)

Of course, the French aren't allowed to be French before they are Europe because it's not part of the 'script'.

Haha.

Haha.

So uh, what Scandinavian countries are part of the European Union?

Finland, Sweeden, and Denmark. Two of which don't use the Euro as their currency. Britian is also not using the currency... why? Because they consider themselves ENGLISH FIRST, and want to keep some of their identity. Do you think the same can be said for the Scandinavian countries? They consider themselves Scandi before they consider themselves European?

No... couldn't be true...

So what do you say when the economy is growing as well as jobs? Your argument always falls flat on this topic because you don't really have a clue regarding the facts. You can rant all day about "jobs being lost", but make no mention that those jobs are returning as you type the sentence. You must know nothing about the business cycle...

If you want to talk about overspending, I am with you. But that hasn't hurt the economy. By your logic, the tax cuts were terrible. You would rather have that money in the government to spend... right? So then, if I get this right, it's okay for government to spend money. That way the ecnomy would be just roses right? So then what's the problem with Bush overspending? That money would go into the economy no?

Well, here is where we differ. I believe people, even the rich who pay most of the taxes, should get to have as much of the money they EARNED, before the government should. You believe that people who don't earn their way through life should have the money of those who do. You believe in punishing achievement and rewarding laziness.

The economy will be just fine. You never mention the recession that started under Clinton though. Isn't that interesting? No, it fits in perfectly with your blind vision of what's actually happening in this country.

So basically those who work their bollocks off making the rich their riches should be rewarded with higher taxes?

I find your view very selfish.

Nope, I say decrease the size of government, let people be responsible for their own actions, and lower taxes for everyone. As it stands now, around 50 percent of the US doesn't pay income tax... what I find selfish is people like Brondby and possibly you who think it is right to tax people more and more and more who happen to make more money than you do. I never hear a "thank you" for the taxes they do pay. All I hear is , "give me more."

That's selfish.

Back to Brondby jumping to conclusions on any news that could be bad for Bush. I told you I was willing to wait a few days to find out the truth about the 370 tons of weapons or whatever it was, and more and more information comes out each day. All pointing to Brondby and people like John Kerry making fools of themselves. Will you admit you're an ass this time if you are wrong or just blow it under the rug while the readers of this forum don't hold you to account?

From ABC News:

http://www.abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=204304&page=1

The Washington Times will have a story tomorrow saying that the Russian military helped move the weapons to Syria before the war started...

Do you actually know how hard it is to move all the weaponry? Or do you really believe that "looters" just walked in and took it away in their arms? All 740,000 POUNDS or so of it????

Foolish, foolish boy... thought you learned your lesson after the fraudulent CBS story...

Kerry's in Madison today for some big rally. I've seen people with Kerry buttons walking to the rally from 3 or 4 miles away.

You know Al Franken told a joke that basically sums up the right-wing's answer to their massive failure at Al Qaqaa. Guy borrows a plate from his neighbor, and when he gets it home he drops it and it breaks. He sneaks back into his neighbor's house and puts the broken plate in the cupboard. His neighbor confronts him about it. And the guys says "I never borrowed your plate. When I got it, it was broken. And when I returned it, it was in one piece."

The righties are scrambling to invent any lie they can about these weapons, and they're all contradicting each other. They hadn't been there since 2002. They were moved by Saddam Hussein weeks before the war. They were taken by looters between the beginning of the war and when the troops got there. And now, it's THE RUSSIANS. God Elder, where have you been for the last 20 years? Even Rumsfeld said that was baseless. What have I told you about posting garbage from Drudge and the Washington Times?

And of course the right hit a new low even for them when Giuliani blamed the troops. Troops don't know where the weapons are, they don't know what to guard, and there weren't enough people to guard them even if they did know to. And it makes me sick that after all these lies by the right about Kerry blaming the troops, and how Kerry turned his back on the military, you have this scumbucket Giuliani, who did not serve, trying to foist the blame that rightly belongs on the shoulders of Bush onto the people that Bush sent, underprepared, to fight and die in that hellhole.

I can't believe the so-called "liberal" New York Times endorsed that far-right puppet.

The hilarious part was when Bill Gertz said the Russians did it. Dude, the Cold War has been over for more than a decade now. (H) Here are some graphs from the article:
John A. Shaw, the deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security, said in an interview that he believes the Russian troops, working with Iraqi intelligence, "almost certainly" removed the high-explosive material that went missing from the Al-Qaqaa facility, south of Baghdad.

The RDX and HMX, which are used to manufacture high-explosive and nuclear weapons, are probably of Russian origin, he said.

The statement also said that the material may have been removed from the site by Saddam's regime.

The Russian weapons were then sent out of the country to Syria, and possibly Lebanon in Russian trucks, Mr. Shaw said.
Pigs can probablyfly.... I believe they really could fly..... they may be able to (H)

You're still around? I thought you left to change your diaper after that latest bin Laden tape came out. I mean, you're so full of **** in the first place that it only took bin Laden scaring it out of you to make such a mess.

Now then, there are many different explanations regarding this issue, and unlike you, who loves to jump to any conclusion that supports your idiotic ideas, I am still waiting to see all the facts. The fact is, nobody actually does know what happened, except you of course.

Turd.

There is photo evidence of trucks being at the site right before the invasion. It might be hard to believe after the screw ups of intelligence in this war, but it's another possibility.

I bet it's a non story in the end, because the original article has been laregly debunked.
