Well guys, I dont know if you know it yet... but you almost get Van Bommel. One of Holland's best players. (Y) His agent said this morning the deal is almost finished. His contract is expiring at the end of this season so you'll get him for free. :)

I hope it's true but until it's confirmed I won't believe it. You know how these things are, today he's here tomorrow's there.

BTW, yesterday he scored a hattrick in the 0-4 against Ajax, one of them from the penalty spot..

Proceedings opened against Chelsea
Monday, 21 March 2005

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Chelsea FC, their manager José Mourinho, assistant manager Steve Clarke and club security official Les Miles on charges of bringing the game into disrepute.

Investigation carried out
European football's governing body announced the measures today in the wake of an investigation into incidents at the UEFA Champions League first knockout round first leg between FC Barcelona and Chelsea at the Camp Nou in Spain on 23 February. Barcelona won the match 2-1.

UEFA statement
In a statement issued to uefa.com, UEFA said: "UEFA today announced the opening of disciplinary proceedings against Chelsea FC, head coach José Mourinho, assistant manager Steve Clarke and security official Les Miles, for making false declarations, notably in the complaint sent by Chelsea FC following the UEFA Champions League match played against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou on 23 February 2005.

'Wrong and unfounded'
"By further disseminating these wrong and unfounded statements, Chelsea FC allowed its technical staff to deliberately create a poisoned and negative ambience amongst the teams and to put pressure on the refereeing officials," the statement continued.

Date set
UEFA said the disciplinary case would be dealt with by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body on 31 March. Article 5, paragraph 1 of the UEFA disciplinary regulations - Principles of Conduct - state: "Member associations, clubs, as well as their players, officials and members, shall conduct themselves according to the principles of loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship." In addition, Article 5, paragraph 2 d) stipulates that a breach of these principles is incurred by anyone "whose conduct brings the sport of football, and UEFA in particular, into disrepute".

Dutch media are usually reliable and they're reporting it's 90% done.

Is the Spanish media saying anything?

Yes, they also say it's almost done, but his agent has said today on a Catalan Radio that van Bommel still has not decided anything..

His agent is Rob Jansen who's done a lot of business with Barca before. He's Frank de Boer's father-in-law and was his agent too.

Indeed, Rob Janssen. He's also remembered that van Bommel has offers from 12 european clubs, 4 spanish, and he can't say if one of them is Real Madrid so one of them is Real Madrid. Who knows if one of those teams make a move now and van Bommel doesn't come after all..

I've just read that it's 99% certain that van Bommel goes to Barca and that he is thrilled to play there. Actually I think it's a done deal MARK my words ;)

Senior Squad
we're looking for a player for each line for next season

A DC: Rodriguez from Villareal is one of the options, the other one is Milito from Zaragoza.

The player for the midfield seems to be van Bommel. Great one.

In the attack we're looking for some winger. We have missed Luis Garcia who was the man supposed to play in this position (he and Guily) but he received a great offer from Liverpool before the transfer window was over in summer and he left. The options are: Mauro Esposito from Cagliari, Guayre from Villareal and maybe, but with less options, Iraola from Athletic Bilbao and, as every year, Luque (although he usualy plays on the left)

I read in the newspapers today that UEFA could punish Chelsea in several ways, and the ones that I found most interesting were:
- Chelsea are eliminated from the CL, Barcelona plays Bayern M.
- The Nou Camp match is registered as a 3 - 0 win for Barcelona, Barcelona plays Bayern M.
- The return leg (Chelsea - FCB 4:2) is replayed.
- The result of the return leg is cancelled (not sure what happens then).

I know it's probably not gonna happen, but there's always hope. The spokesman of UEFA wouldn't have said something like this if he didn't mean it.

Of course I would like to see one of the above scenarios to happen, but what I definitely wouldn't want to see is CFC or Mourinho fined for a certain amount of money. They're Chelski, it would have no effect on them. As well as banning Mourinho for five matches in the stands. That would mean nothing.
The POS will be punished. Cocksucker.

I didn't search the net for this. I just read it in the papers today so I can't post a link.
