You still don't seem to undertstand what a plan B is. Every manager makes slight alterations to the team before a match, if he didn't, there'd be no point to him being there. My point was that when what Barca always does doesn't work, Pep has nothing up his sleeve. And that is the case.

We have a style. We learn our kids from their childhood how to play. We have a football ideology and we won't change it very easily. Our teams may come up with something, they can stop us sometimes, it's true. But Pep showed that he isn't just a toy there in big matches. He approach differently these big matches. He still used and will you the same style though.

For example:

1. 2nd May, 2009. Messi didn't play in the middle becasue he's such a phenomenal player. Someone (i.e. Pep) said him to play in the middle with Xavi and Iniesta for certain reasons. He risked playing with his two center forwards as winger, but at the end he scored 6 goals and owned a team like Madrid in the middle of the Bernabeu. According to you, this is only adding some salt to you recipe. Ok, let it be whatever. Is it working, we're winning matches. I'm sure other manager would love to do so.

2. 24th November, 2009. Without Messi, Ibra, Yaya. It was Pep who said to Pedro, go and play forward on the left wing. Go and play there, don't let Maicon go forward. It was Pep who said to don Andres, start as a right winger, but then play in the middle, help Xavi and Busquets. It was Pep who said to Alves play deeper on the right wing. It was Pep who said to Henry to do pressure all the time. etc, etc. This is adding some salt and pepper according to you, but ok then, ask Ancelotti (or others, why not?) to do it. ;)

These were just 2 matches that came to my mind. There are lot more.

Here it is what I said:

Coz it seems either my English is bad or you wanna get it another way.

I said:

- I can't say right now that Pep is the best coach in the World, because he's carrier as a coach is too short, and in one way he needs to prove that at least with one more fantastic year.

But his results, make him one of the best nowadays.

- If he keeps these successes up for more years, then how can you deny it that he won't be the best coach ever. He already won something (triplet) that only 5 coaches did it before. He won something (5 trohpies) that maybe 1 or 2 coaches did it before. If he win Clubs World Cup, he'll become the most successful coach who won all trophies in a season.

Now the reasons he needs more year is that right now, he can't compete with Ferguson who is a manager for more than 20 years now. He can't compete with Scolari who has won World Cup as a manager since he hasn't manage any NT yet. This is only his third year as a manager (inlcuding the one in 4th division of Spain with Barça B).

Well, you can`t deny the fact that Guardiola had everything he needed to win anything before taking charge. He got great players like Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Etoo etc. He didn`t have to make any significant change to the team. And he had financial backing as well.

To be winning the trebble in his first season is a great achievement definitely. But if you look at the situation at Barca, any manager with such good players and financial backing could`ve done the same thing... Don`t you think so?

I would only call him one of the best managers if he proves that he can cope with difficult situations. For e.g. having all key players injured or missing for a length of time and still being consistent in winning and changing the tactics and approach according to the players he has available. So far he has not proved that. Since he came, I can`t remember any period when there was an injury crisis for a significant amount of time (months without key players). He still has a lot to prove. Winning the tripple with a team with Xavi, Messi, Iniesta (arguably the 3 best in the world right now) is not enough. Put him in a middle-table team. He might struggle.

It was last season that Iniesta and Messi really stepped up and there was more team chemistry. These 2 improved a lot to become among the best players worldwide.

Henry also took a year to settle, the Ronaldinho saga was reportedly causing unrest, and let's not forget that Rijkaard got 2 leagues and a CL, he had just run his course.

first watch some 07-08 and 08-09 matches and then take your conclussions, Messi and Iniesta aren't the diference.

If those Henrys, iniestas, messis etc... performance has improved its because pep work.

i dont know why but i'm starting to hate you, bybuti.

Guardiola got what nobody else has got before, the unanimity of the fans.

I agree that Guardiola has played a big part. But the players themselves improved as well. Team chemistry also developed with experience.

I agree. He still has to prove a lot. But so far, he has showed a lot as a manager.

Big people prove themselves in a big matches, and he Pep has proved that he's big in big matches.

Fair enough.

btw, If I understood you well with the unanimity issue, then I agree. But what's the point with that? I didn't doubt it.

you can't agree because you dont have a clue of what the people though here.

Historically, barça always has lived divided between, for example, "nuñistas" and "cruyffistas", "eto'oistas" and "Ronaldinhistas" (after villafranca accident) or "Kubalistas" and "Suarisistas" in the past. Nowadays, everyone is pepista.

you are nuts.
His political orientation has nothing to do with its management, Laporta has always been clear about his thoughts.

Its funny, everyone talks about the political ramifications of Jan, he does, but the only teams that have been saved thanks to political intervention, are Valencia and R.Madrid.

Arnau

NGR LVR
Sure, he must hide it, unless you are PP affiliated and invite your mate Aznar to every real madrid match, for example.
The problem isn't his words, its his political orientation what bother the country, there are similar campaigns of harassment against declared independentist like Oleguer or Joel Joan in Spain, 0 spanish clubs wants to sign oleguer even for free, and joel joan, a very good actor, haven't bids outside catalunya.

Even if Laporta benefits from his barça status or not for a future political carrer, he does everything for barça. You just have to look the team he took and the actual one, to rate his management with a 10. Fact.

AL LORO! (H)

I've missed those discussions since I am too ill but I found some nice animations:

Camera guy: "He is going to hit me!"
Pique hits the boarding and all the chairs (or whatever it is) gets a shock and hit the security guard.

*SPANK*
"Want me to swine flu your ass?"

And some Pedro:

ALVES

There's a guy in another forum who transforms funny parts of matches in .GIFs

Those are the worst gifs I've ever seen, why do they cut just before the (presumably) best part?

I don't understand well what you want to say.
