Valdes was very accident prone especially considering he didn't get that much action so as a ratio...

Valdes was never good; he was at best a reflex keeper who added very little more to the team. Neuer was already the best keeper of his generation before he added this to his game.

To be honest Valdes was integral to Barca's squad. Started off being rubbish, and when Barca were dominating 08-11 he didn't really have to do that much as a goalkeeper. But yet again he delivered when it was necessary, mostly. He's good with his feet and acted like a sweeper keeper for them. Although he was pretty prone to blunders once in a while.

Gotta agree with Shifty there. I think one of his strongest points was reflex saves and 1 on 1 situations.

Valdez would have been found out if he was at a club where he had more to do than shot stopping

Awesome. Oh, and here's a nugget in the book for Arnau

It really doesn’t matter from now on if we win or lose, if we concede goals or not. We’re thinking about the Champions League and the DFB-Pokal now. The league is done as far as we’re concerned.

After reading the Pep book I kind of want to say that I was wrong in the aftermath of the Real Madrid-Bayern tie last year. Pep changed his system at the Allianz Arena and it was based on media reports of the first leg and what his players asked for. He played a 4-2-4 against his philosophy in the second leg because his players convinced him to do it and lost control of the midfield. I now firmly believe that was the cause of the defeat. Pep is an incredible manager and probably more like Sacchi than any other former manager in terms of his style.
