So, Cissokho's gone. Joining Licha...

Pereira + Fucile (if needed) for the left and Sapunaru + Lopes for the right, no worries bro (H)

We'll see. I hope so.

Just one thing I keep thinking about from time to time, though:

Hulk. I mean, what the fuck. Fuck Cronaldo, this guy has to be the best find worldwide in years.

he still hogs the ball too much for my liking, but there's not doubt he's a freak of nature (H)

I went to the presentation last night, unfortunately got there only in time for the match and missed the players being announced and sh't :(
the game itself was overall boring as **** but since we still managed to score 3 and develop a few brilliant plays it was still worth it.

I can't wait to watch Valeri in action, I've been wondering how Belluschi's style sooths the #8 spot and I think he must have more freedom than Lucho ever had since his game mostly about short passing and individual skill while we need someone there to think and distribute the game faster.
Valeri could very well be the man for the job, lets wait and see.
I see Belluschi playing down the wing a lot throughout the season and being good at it...

anyway, highlights from last night's match available here.

yeah well, since we usually use the classic 4-3-3 with pure wingers he won't have many chances to play the #10 spot or as a SS...naturally depending on how the matches go he'll surely be used in either of those roles when needed, the truth is we never had someone with his style last season and we had to improvise Licha playing a deeper role a few times so it'll be nice to have Bellu as an option.

-------------Helton--------------
Fucile----Alves--Rolando---Pereira
------------Fernando------------
------Belluschi------Meireles-----
HULK!-----------------------CR10
--------------Falcao-------------

This should be our starting formation for the beggining of the season, we are yet to see what Valeri can do so I wouldn't keep him off the Belluschi spot as of yet.

The next friendlies should tell us more about the new kids on the block, so let them come asap :browsmiley:

EDIT
Pelé signed a loan deal with Valladolid for next season.
I thought he had officially joined Genoa in June, wonder wtf happened...

EDIT 2
on the other hand Sebastián Prediger from Colón de Santa Fé is close to signing for us according to their president...
I thought we were gonna remain with Tommy and Guarín (who aren't actually pure DMs) as the alternatives to Fernando but I guess I was wrong...don't know much about this dude other than he's 22 and an Argentina international so any extra info by anyone at all who actually knows him would be much appreciated :)

I only watched the last 20 minutes (I was playing footy myself (H)) but it's always cool to grab a win.

Finally Falcao and Valeri got their first game wearing our shirt, they only played like 25 minutes each so it's hard to tell something about what they can effectively add to our game.
Valeri's ball control and passing seems promising though, I don't know why but I got a great feeling about him (H)

Seems like Bellu played a good match again, and Varela had a nice one too inclusively clinching the winner...
Looking forward to watching us at the Peace Cup, the clash with Lyon should be interesting :browsmiley:

Prediger is arriving to Porto this Friday morning so it's a matter of him having the medicals and sign the deal. Reports say it's a €3,3M fee, we definitely needed a back-up for Fernando so I hope he is the right choice.

Prediger is confirmed, Jesualdo said he'll be with his new teamates at tomorrow's practice (Y)

He was kind of expensive (Colón's president said fee's around €4,2M) so here's hoping he actually justifies the investment. That kind of money is too much for a bench-warmer so I reckon the coach as bigger plans for him. He's gonna wear #26.

I guess this is about it for us transfers wise, finding a random club that's in the mood to waste some money on Benítez is prioritary and then we'll be good to go (H)

btw we have officially denied any interest in getting Keirrison and that Fernando is Fiorentina-bound.

If you ask me I think we might have just made the right choice to replace Cissokho.
Álvaro's been extremely solid defensively so far, but I am still waiting to see more of him down that left wing in attack. He clearly has good technique and speed so once his confidence levels reach the top I expect him to be even better at it, more audacious.

We beat Lyon 2-0 at the Peace Cup tonight.
Again I didn't catch the whole match, and apparently we actually played better in the second half which I fully missed :(
Meanwhile I watched the second goal and I think it's safe to post my game analysis already, which is:

BEWARE AND BEHOLD!

So after drawing 0-0 vs Besiktas with a display good enough to get through to the semi against Villa we ended losing it 2-1 having our worst game of the pre-season by far. Falcao was kind of disappointing :( he seriously needs to work on that ball control...

A lot of players look too tired and I hope this coming week without fixtures is what they need to recover their physical condition.
The only one we can fully skip off that list is Hulk who never seems to get tired no matter how hard he works in a game...a human dynamo for sure.

Our first official match is coming up next against Paços de Ferreira for the Supercup, so I expect us to be able to put up a good show by then.

First official match, first trophy in the bag. Hopefully the trend for the coming season (H)

We didn't have the greatest of games but eventually did enough to clinch the win.
Farías and B. Alves on the scoresheet, here are the highlights: http://videos.sapo.pt/TmczvkCaqZYn2R6ukUOG
Bruno's header was simply too good, dude manages to float towards the dropping ball and then hit that thunderous drive 8|

Looking forward to our first league match on Sunday precisely against Paços away, we'll have to play better to get past them and I'm confident we will do so.
Falcao's certificate issue should be solved 'till Friday so I expect him to be available, either way no worries since we have Farígol (H)
