Have you seen this guy? He probably has twice the ball control Ronaldinho has, but he's not a professional football player...

I'm trying to make a point here. Even though Lampard hasn't got the extreme ball skills that Ronaldinho has, he can still be a better player.

Though at the moment, I agree that Ronaldinho is a better player. But to be honest, I don't think he'll be able to hold this form over such a long time as Lampard has done. I don't think he'll be able to hold it for the whole season, actually.

No one has twice the ballcontroll as ronaldinho. and that guy does cool stuff with out pressure. Ronaldinho does magic stuff with the best defenders in the world hanging on his neck (e.g. fooling the entire AC Milan defence last CL at Camp Nou).

Did you even click the damned link? Where did I mention the fact that Ronaldinho is better because of his ball control? I mean... sure it has to do with ball control, but not just that...

Lampard is not a better player than Ronaldinho, without a solid def mid behind him he's no better than a Ballack, or Gerrard.

Ronaldinho is on another planet. He and Henry can carry a team. In Chelsea's case it's not Lampard that does that, it's Terry.

Lampard does not even come close. He has played well but he is over-hyped big time. Without Makelele he ain't as good, look at him for England, he plays well but is just a shadow of him playin for Chelsea. Terry should be ahead of Lampard IMO

Winning awards is not about having magical skills and getting results everytime. Theres also motivation, morale, etc..Where was Ronaldinho 5 years ago. Some place. Where was Lampard 5 years ago. Some place.

It's not about ball control on an empty playground.

Doubting an unproven player is one thing, but doing it to a proven player such as Ronaldinho is stupid. He's done everything out there for everyone to see. No one in their right mind can say there is a better player than him.

He combines results with attraction. He's not alone, but he does it the best.

The only thing you can really hold against him is that he is not involved in the game ocassionally. For example, the Bernabeu match. He kept returning the ball to where he got it from, but in the second half he picked it up and you know what happened next. It's like he destroys a team when he decides to.
That's what makes him the best.

Lampard isnt as pretty as Ronaldinho, I am not going to argue that, Ronaldinho is a magician, Lampard is a midfield general.

Lampards end product however is better, more then half our goals involve him, he scores, creates, defends, he does it all and he does it without getting injured. People say its only because of Makelele, yet he was Englands leading scorer in the WCQ campaign, and scored vital goals at Euro2004 so that dispells that theory. Others say he is just the result of Mourinho, yet he was becoming just as dominate under Ranieri, and was the best player in 03/04 behind one Henry (we all know how good he was that year). Just because he isnt Brazilian and does the fancy tricks that we all love. If I was building a team and I had to build my midfield around one man, it would be Lampard. He has saved Chelseas ass many a time, and carried us over the line which as a result allowed us to win the EPL by such a huge margain.

Lampard was the best player all over Europe last season from the word go for club and country, and deserves this award greatly, and that is no discredit to Ronaldinho to whom I think is awesome.

Aissati, Afellay and Farfan did that too.....

Ronaldinho at that time actually did it to an in-form Milan defence.. This year the defense is just... old...

Ronaldinho is the most talented player in the current football world. He dribbles and passes well, his long shots and freekicks are very good too.

He can really turn the tables himself. IMO, Gerrard is better than Lampard. Gerrard also carrys the team like Ronaldinho does.

BS.

Watched Liverpool lately? Fact is they are statistically a better side WITHOUT Gerrard.

Haha, sorry, I didn't click it :P

I'm just so used to people argumenting with Ronaldinho being the better one because of these tricks he does (and they give me links to videos of it), and I saw the title "Ronaldinho-scores"-something of the link you gave, so I figured..

But yeah, Lampard can probably do that too :mrpimp:

I think Lampard being the topscorer for Chelsea says more about Chelsea then it does about Lampard...
