PES/WE7i are better than EA's FIFA series..
HOWEVER, EA is walking with huge steps in the right direction.
if they already started working on FIFA 2005 by just editing Euro 2004 and improving it by providing better gameplay, JUST focus on gameplay. work this year only to improve the gameplay. NO NEED to create a new game engine.. EA, you can simply improve the current one ( euro 2004's engine ). you have the whole year to do the job. we can wait ! you don't have to release the game on november! it's ok to release it on january 2005. so you have the time to remove the bugs and make the best game ever!
I don't understand why you guys have to create a new game engine every single year! you won't come up with any improvements. well, you created FIFA 2004's engine, what about working on the same engine ?? you know what the bugs are and what should be improved. OK, don't release FIFA 2005!! we can play Euro 2004 until late 2005, when you will release FIFA 2006. so working for two years would be enough time to release a PERFECT game. again, WE CAN WAIT. EA, you just need time and a little "soccer thinking". just sit back, relax, and think, why things are missing in Euro 2004 ?? except more teams/leagues..etc.
NOW is time to seriously think about improving your GAMEPLAY. just FOCUS on gameplay for the whole next two years. I swear you'll do a great job !

Why don`t you FIF-UCK fanboys put your comments on this EA`s official comments about their Euro 2004 before dissing off PES :
Here is what the top guy at EA said, right out of his own words

FOOT IN MOUTH
Clearly aimed at the mass market, EA is happy to admit that it's attempting to ensnare Euro-crazed football fans. In a somewhat Ratner-esque statement, a senior marketing executive openly proclaimed: "I want to be honest with you and say that this game is not going to be a PES-beater - it's not even going to necessarily be a FIFA-beater."

If you don`t believe it`s comin` from an EA guy then click .THIS LINK

I`ve seen someone posted this link, but none of you replied in a mature manner way beside slaggin` him off and continue with your verbal abuse assault. I don`t know, maybe because none of you got the brain and the attitude to dispute in a mannered way or your childish brain can`t handle logical debate . . .

I see that you have difficulties giving me an answer on what I said before for PES3, which is normal because I think that both games - FIFA & PES - are having disavantages...

to TottiNZidaneR#1 : As I said on my post, I am playing PES3 on PC. The tactics does not work as the mate says, so clear - I am reffering to the link you send me. And even so, if you want to make a player run when he is not on the right position of the team - you may have in a situation Thuram who is CB Def in a good position on Attact - it is not possible cause the man is not on the right position of the team strategy - which is not like this in real life...

to Killua : Pls read what I said to TottiNZidaneR#1 for tactics...

There are other thing that concern the improvment of the game. I really do not care about licensees and names but I think that in Konami they can improve the graphics and the frame rate - which is below EA in my opinion. I also would like to see more combos in "freestyle" - I mean something like this....

http://www.frutsel.terrainhost.com/frutselapp/dump/neo/freestyle2.wmv

... I also believe that EA had a problem on "freestyle" in FIFA 2004 but I played the demo of EURO 2004 and I see a big improvment. Still I want to play the game in the final format in PS2 to have a complete opinion...

Hope to hear from you...

Neo...

to Hans - who said "...maybe because none of you got the brain and the attitude to dispute in a mannered way or your childish brain can`t handle logical debate..." : Since you have the brain and the correct attitude - unlike us the FIF-**** fans - can you please give answers to my questions above - not able to control more than one players, not able to make runs without throwing the ball first, the fouls that the AI shoots against you are not real e.t.c.?

Hope to hear your answer...

The only reason I called the kind of you FI**** fanboys simply because all of you started callin` me and PES fans names and insults everytime we have our tought about PES being better than FIFA. And that official EA statement tells the truth about who`s right. We never attacked any FIFA fan personally but all of you seems to lost control and insultin` us everytime we have any critics to your beloved developer, EA. What are you guys ? People who loves lookin` at EA`s logo and thinks that is so sexy, you masturbates all over it ?

I know you're a little retarded but don't you think the original thread title "Finally EA whooped Konami" kinda made it that?

I've actually stopped replying to you now because you make far too many references to gay sex which leads many of us to believe you're actually cruising for some a$$ rather than actually debating soccer games. Your inability to actually discuss merits of either game (plus the fact even the hardcore FIFA fans on here know you're a liar) and profanity everytime you can't think of a word make discussion with you similar to a retarded person with extreme torettes syndrome!

Sorry for that "you" word, I didn`t mean that. It was meant for others who likes to insult us.

As for your questions, here are my toughts :
1. Yes, we can`t able to control more than one player in PES like in FIFA 2004 with their OTB controll. Some of us don`t feel that kind of control is necessary, while others do, and that`s why they include it in their requests for the coming PES. But to tell you the truth, OTB is not very good IMO. OTB is way to complicated, football sims was supposed to be simple in terms of control. For example, how many button combos you need to do an OTB in FIFA 2004 ? It was more like a fighting game control type rather than a football sims control. And on another note, lots of FIFA players who has mastered OTB thinks that it has major bugs, why ? Simply because when it`s executed perfectly, there`s no chance whatsoever for the CPU to stop it, and it took away all the fun playing the game, and ever since they mastered it, they never used it anymore ? So what`s the point of adding the feature when sooner or later it will take away all the fun ?
2. I really don`t understand this question, do you mean by the way the CPU cheats in PES ? Yes, the CPU fouls call sometimes can become a major, anoyin` bug in PES. This issue has been brought up and Konami responded well by fixing the bug in WE7i edition. But then again in FIFA 2004, EA took away the diving header and bicycle kick, doesn`t a much bigger bug than some late calls in PES ?

And still no sensible response from fanboys about the post where EA`s guy himself claimed that Euro isn`t a PES beater ( and not even . . . cough . . . cough a regular FIFA beater ) . . .

Hi there Hans...

Well OTB is not as you discribe it. There are 3 kinds of OTB and I do not use them all of the time but still I want them all. What you said is not right "...simply because when it`s executed perfectly, there`s no chance whatsoever for the CPU to stop it...", cause it is not like this. The CPU also control more then one players, so when you "send" your other prayer somewhere, the def of the CPU will try to defend your move. But there is no a sure answer to if the CPU will stop you or not cause this depends on each situation, as real soccer...

As for the CPU in PES3, - I do not know how WE7i is playing so I cannot have an opinion - I have seen many times that your teamates - in offence or in defence - they move really stupid in many cases. I played PES3 before 2 days and in a case my 3 defenders when the ball went to the offence player of the CPU moved to the excact opposite direction. When I had the chance to move my defender to the attacker it was to late, the CPU player already scored...

As for what EA`s guys or Konami 's guys have to say, I do not really care on what they say, cause they only want to promote their stuff. They do not really care about us, or how we feel about their games, they just want to sell their games, BOTH of them...

You don`t seems to understand the point . . . Why would anyone bash at us for tellin` that PES is better than Euro when it was EA`s guy himself who already claimed that their new game is not even better than older FIFA games and PES ?

Now, that I brought that EA`s statement, I can see all the basher shut their mouth up.

As for your probs with WE7 CPU defender, I must say, you can`t expect to master PES in just two days. Unlike FIFA, you need weeks or even months to really master the game, that`s why the game is not boring for people who likes challenges like us. There are many options in the strategy tab in the team management settings so you can set up your defence.

post your source or stfu yea? ;) Also to guys like wolf and tristanabott - glad to see you're still here, not playing your beloved PES or WE7, as naturally hating on fifa is more fun to you. I'll just say that ever since FIFA 2004 came out I've been playing it and it's still as much fun as it was in the beginning, and frankly i've found no reason to come in here and defend it. Its funny how when the time comes for the next FIFA to come out, you're all here, right on que to try to get as few people as possible to buy it. Obviously, you prefer that to playing your much advertised ISS/PES/WE7-clone...well to me that's as much proof of your negative reasons for being here as anything. If I was the moderator of this board, you would've been banned a long time ago, as all you do is hate on the game and try to promote your opinions without ever listening to anyone - obviously Matt still hasn't done that - maybe the guy is just way more patient than I am.

So yea, if i do get insanely bored, I will return to this forum and try to defend the next fifa installment (which does seem a great game from what i've seen) from your flaming...but otherwise - see ya in October, lame kids ;)

Hey m8...

I think that you do not get me. I do not bash at you or anybody else. I am just playing both games and I would like to hear opinions from all the players - FIFA & PES players...

You do not tell me if I wanna master the game in 2 days, cause you do not know how long I play the game since you are not next to me when I play. At least with the facts I give you you know that I play PES3. With what you say it is very clear that you only play 5-10 times or you even saw the game and you have made already your opinion...

What I said about Def system on PES3 was clearly a CPU problem at that current time. Nothing more, nothing less...

yea...ok...computerandvideogames.com - as if that's the most reliable source ever, not to mention that they haven't even included the guy's NAME, which makes it a dodgy piece of information at best. Tell me something, if you can strain your chickenbrain that much, do you actually believe that a "marketing" executive would actually say that, when he's actually supposed to help advertise the product? Either way, I'm not trusting a word, until i see the quote, with the guy's name below it. Hell, anyone can fabricate something like that, for whatever reason... it might be just what this reviewer has done, most likely another PES/WE7 fanboy. Next time think before posting unreliable crap like that and pretending it actually proves anything.

Having said all that, I hope you'll get who should shut his faking mouth...
