Decent movie, they probably based the manager in the movie on Sir Bobby Robson the character reminded me of him. Nice to see Martin Tyler making a cameo.

Just watched it today. It didnt really impress me that much. The roles of the real players were too insignificant if you ask me. They shouldve at least been given a few more lines & more screentime. Ok.....so maybe they cant act & they'll ask for a ****load of cash but thats how i feel anyway.

To me it was absolute bollocks, but i can understand why it would appeal to kids, it was just so "hollywood", he got THREE chances for a trial, jesus how many players in real life get that, then itso predictably he scores in the dying seconds of the game :nape:

Do yourself a favour and read up on proper footballers. It's much more interesting.

I really should get hold of Len Shackleton's autobiography.

Well yeah it is to "hollywood" but is a very entertaining movie , very unreal but you get a lot of good football action

Not ALL that, but gave a certain pleasure of watching a movie about futbol. So he's headed to Real Madrid in the 2nd part, right?

Zidane, Raul, Beckham = Hollywood stars (H)

*sarcasticly claps*

Thomas Gravesen. I hope he gets cut. Apparently he has an affair with Joss Stone in the second one. Because that's what happens in football, these days.

I believe this will be release in the US in January...and part two will be release worldwide during the WC2006. They want to keep the momentum in the US so that they will go see the second movie. Now...there are two things I didnt like about the movie that otherwise would of been great:

1- Why....o please god tell me WHY did they have to use a computer generated soccer ball on some simple scenes? Do they have to use Special Effects on EVERYTHING now a days

2- Why did they have to make this player soooo damn good yet the actor completely sucks at soccer. They couldn´t have a normal shot on him dribbling the ball...it was always from the waist down

3- and third..yeah...a third. They should of left Diego Luna....He is a Great actor....he has an ACCENT which would make more sense....and KNOWS how to play Soccer....its no secret he used to play soccer.....

Oh well....liked the movie except for these few things....

Finally saw it today. Gotta say that finally a good movie about football. I am tired of all those amateur kids leagues with dogs dominating them :boohoo: . Makes those stupid americans be even more convinced that soccer is for girls. And with those movies, i wouldn't think any other way either if i was them. Now this movie is a true movie, shows the real soccer and all aspects of it. Very good storyline and very well done. The guy wasn't very convincing when shooting those balls or running at all in fact, but that's ok. I noticed one mistake however, through out the whole movie, Santiago was shooting with his right foot and all those freekicks and shots and crosses where right footed, but the goal he scored was shot from the right but with a left foot swinging in. No big deal though, still does the effect.

Good movie, can't wait to see him play with Real Madrid.

But i agree that Diego Luna would have been better.

decent movie.

the brit bird looks pretty hot in the movie. she has that extra something that I can't quite explain that only uk girls seem to have. a special girl-next-door factor perhaps?
