Im new to PES, so I got a few Q's ?!?

I just would like to give my point of view.
I have been playing FIFA since FIFA 94 for SEGA.
I've played the first Winning Eleven series for Playstation (one), but never had the chance to try PES3 for PS2.
Now that PES3 Demo came out for PC I've been playing it a lot, and what I think is:
-I can't understand the shooting system. Sometimes I'm near the box and I press the shoot button of my gamepad and the player LOBS THE BALL instead of shooting properly, hard and depending on the strengh I give.
I really don't know why this happens.
-The sliding tackle system sucks. You can't take the ball with a normal tackle, and if you slide there's a 85% of chances that it ends up in a foul and a a yellow or red card to your player.

But the rest it great I think!
I love how players like Davids, Del Piero, Zidane, etc interact with the ball. The movements of those players and everything else is so realistic.
Just try... take Davids and see how he moves, he shoots, he passes the ball, he dribbles (the dribbling style is amazing btw, unlike FIFA) and you'll understand what I mean. Also, still talking about Davids, take a look at the his body model! how the hair moves! it's HIM!

Well, enough said. If you could help me with the shooting problem, tell me, because it's really annoying.

Cantona also dribbles like his oldself.

I still need to try Pele and Maradona, Cruyff is excellent, I bet the first thing that came to Konami's mind when doing the attributes, was his speed.

I'm not taking the orginal Prophet post too seriously. You really can't please everyone, no matter what.

I'm just happy in the knowledge that a majority, like me, are in an opinion counter to his and are thoroughly enjoying the game. I don;t think any of us are so mesmerised by the game that we ignore its' flaws but we do appreciate quality when we see it.

Konami should make it less frequent, but I like a little bad call here or there, I think its realistic. It does happen a little too much though, not with every ref mind you..

yeah you do get some pretty shocking refereeing decisions in real life, its just i think it happens a little too much in PES3, its almost like watching the premiership, hehe

1.
If you press shoot twice, he will try the delicate lob. Press the shoot button once. This never happens to me, because I press it once.

Problem solved.


2.
I slide RARELY !90% of the balls I take away is done with x, the standing tackle. Like in real life, sliding is a last ditch effort or if you're sure you're getting the ball. Time your tackle, get in position and use standing tackle whenever possible, this isn't FIFA and sliding tackles are, as they are in football, dangerous and risky.

Problem solved.

That L1+Triangle pass can be very very useful. Check the 'post some new movies' thread in the Game Footage Forum and look out for the one I posted that's a similar goal, only with mine Vieri smashes the ball first time.

Yeah but Han, this has turned into quite an interesting thread now!

I think the only thing that REALLY bugs me is that 90% of 1on1 ball situations where the ball bounces off randomly (or even when you tried to aim) WILL go to the CPU player. And if the ball is rolling into space your player (un selected) will just look at it. In PES1 they would pick it up, like they had some brains

Try it and see, I get so annoyed at this.
