But if you think about it guys, he's playing professional football, and has been playing football at a high level for sometime now, so he should be physically solid

Many people from african nations and various island nations don't know how old they are. I have a friend whos dad is from a pacific island, and he only knows his age within a few years.

So freddy could well be 17 or 18. He might not know. There have been many cases of 12 year old running 16-year old 100m sprint times, except they disapear from the sport in a few years, becasue they are not really that fast at all. They are just 16 year olds running against 12 year olds, and when they get older and it all evens out, they are exposed. Its not their fault, they just come from poor nations and backgrounds and don't really know their age.

Having seen what Pele looked like at 17, Adu could be 14-17. It's clear the lad has hairry legs but I'm hairry bastard too. I'm 19 but the hair kicked in at 13. Judging by his physique, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Oh, and on a (

The Legend
I had a friend who was 6'4" at 14, he's now 6'10.

People said he looked 20.

Just because you weren't his size when you were 14 doesn't mean he can't be.

He trains with professionals, running...weights, the whole deal. So he's going to have large arms and legs.
Maybe envy of him plays a roll for some people.

He is too thin......he needs to put on weight...good thing that he is so young...has time to put on some pounds. He looked like a feather out there. And he needs to develop a crossover like Ronaldo. I mean late in the game when he had a one on one with a defender, he just seemd to run towards the defender and tried to play it ahead and chase which did not work as the defender touched him and he fell to the ground. Weight and a crossover.:hump:

Running will definately give you some big legs, even without lifting weights. I've running for the last 7 years, so I started when I was 14. I can out lift my teammates who are sprinters on the leg lifts. So if he has been playing soccer for a few years before this, it is possible.

On a side note, didn't he get offered a contract in Italy when he was like 12, but couldn't sign it because of the Italian rules on the player having to be at least 16? He would have made a whole lot more money if he went there I would think.

Hes 5'6 130.

He is 14, its been proven in every way.

Why the hell would he lie about it anyway? What would it do for him? All the idiots who say he isnt 14, answer that question.

Well if he was 20 or older he wouldnt be hyped up as much cuz he isnt as young. Snice he is "14" he is expected to be a legend becuase he is so young but if he was 20 or older he would just be average. So it does benefit him in a way.

He could have claimed the fake age, to move to US faster, plus he set a new World record for the youngest professional football player to make his debut. And think about it, would he get a 2 million Nike deal if he was 18-20? No, but he got it, cause he is so young. So that benefits him a lot actually.

According to ABC he's 5'8" 140, but it doesnt really matter, you're right on your next point. I'm starting to think alot of people envy him, and thats why they're so critical.

In many third world countries, people give births at home. They then go and report the birth when they get around to it. It could very well be up to a year. The day the report is often times what is put as the date of birth. You never know how old many of these people really are. I think he's somewhere around a year or two older.

First of all, he was 7 when he moved here. His mom won a green card lottery so it wouldn't have mattered how old he was. Also, when he was 7, he wasn't thinking about lying about his age so he could sign a big contract with Nike. It would actually be to his advantage to say he is two years older because then he could sign with a European club for a lot more money and if he was 16 he would still be considered to be a top prospect. He was amazing at the U-17 World Cup.

And if he is 18-20 which i think he is they he would not be a top prospect. Also even if he moved here when he was 7 people still lie about there age because they dont know how old they really are so they make it younger. I have a friend that is like this he is really like a 1-2 years older then what it says on his information and all.

Even if you win the Green card lottery. It will be easier for his mom to provide an "affidavit of support" for a younger kid. Don't you get it. This has been a big problem with INS. In fact, at one point, INS wanted to introduce bone testing to confirm the age of immigrants, but it was declined. INs would have required my U.S guardian or sponsor to making a lot of money if I was older. Ultimately, they may decline my application if the affidavit of support is poor. Regardless, if it is an application or a lottery, your affidavit of support will ultimately determine the outcome for a green card.
