Whats the deal with ISS?

-snail pace game
-unresponsive control
-NO skill moves(overhead flip, 360, feint)
-bad, BAD commentary
-meh graphics(animation is cool though)
-and worst of all, WHATS WITH THE PLAYERS AND CLUBS NAMES!!!

I dont understand why people rate this over FIFA.

Snail pace game my a$$! If you're talking about ISSPE1 or 2, try hitting the button on your PSX controller labelled "Start", now select "Game Speed" and put it to the speed you feel like. The gamespeed in PES is just very realistic, try it. :)

Unresponsive control. Please elaborate on this one. What is so unresponsive about it?

Skill moves, schnill moves. In Fifa you can practically dribble the lengt of the pitch with say Tony Adams by using these stupid moves. How often do you see Lee Dixon performing a socalled "Rainbow kick" anyway? Or how often do Ronaldo do a socalled 360 spin? You see, ISS tries to simulate real footy, Fifa don't.

Commentry, yes, it sucks. Your point being?

Meh graphics? Far better than Fifa I tell you. The graphics in Fifa 2002 are really grainy, and pixelated. The graphics and PES is very smooth and flowing.

Players and club names. Yeah, sure, that's a thing I'd like seen added in a ISS version, but it is still a minor detail. KCET has unlike EA Sports actually tried to simulate footy by making the gameplay as realistic as possible, not by adding the Norwegian or Greek league (Who cares anyway?).

I must admit though, I enjoyed World Cup 98 for about two weeks, but honestly, what has been improved in the Fifa series since the release of the WC98 game? Nothing, if you ask me. They've actually managed to make the game worse!

you know what else, I heard that there is a lot of midfield play and that it isn't end-to-end action.

that's warped. I expect at least 40 shots on goal per game

no, i heard that if you get more than 15 shots on goal you can consider yourself lucky.it is also rumoured that players behave like in real life e.g Gigg making a terrific run on the left or R.Carlos making his locomotive run to take a Free kick..it this true?
in a game called FIFA i heard that you can dribble past an entire teams with a defender, wow this games surely rocks as it features superhuman players. you can get numerous shots on goal and don't need to bother where to put the ball just choose right or left...great feature for the indecisive fellows (my god that's an awesome feature)..moreover you don't need to bother about the flow of the game as FIFA is soccer tactics.. score more goal that your oppponent..defenders are only here for figuration. therefore we get scores like 10:9 or 5:4...Surely this is a great tactical aspect of FIFA. to achieve this tally you get wonder moves like the 360 turn. with the 360 turn you can beat anything...this is really the most greatest point in FIFA gameplay that hasn't been achieved in any game..a killer/invincible move that any player can perform..there is only EA to think about that. Another interesting aspect of the most beautiful soccer simulation on PC is that players features nice, rounded and big @sses. no need to ask your girl to put a tight skirt in order to have a look at the full moon, FIFA gives it to you via its player. WOWWWW i gonna get this game called FIFA, such features are really thundering!!!
it is not surprising that FIFA is rated as a great game as those who review are as just as silly/lame/dumb@ss/farters as those players they control in FIFA, in otherwords they don't know a shlt about football. maybe EA will say that Football that Milan or Liverpool is fake and Football is end to end action and that's what FIFA Scam 2001/2 gives.

Both rumours are true :)
I advice everybody to go at the ISS/PES forum of this website, where you can read about countless other nice features of this game :)

Hey don't take this guy seriously, he either hasn't played ISSPE1/2 or he has played it for not longer than 1 hour.

I think the waterboy put up this stupid ass thread to see how many people would respond to such a stupid ass statement. I'm sorry that you find the ISS's pace to be "snail" like, unlike FIFA's more realistic pace of two hundred miles an hour with ball bouncing around like pinball. "unresponsive control"?? Sounds like someone couldn't score twelve goals in one game. "NO skill moves"?? First of all, there are skills moves, second of all, sorry you can't go the length of the pitch with a defender, spinning yourself free of every tackle. You're obviosly an "arcade" soccer fan. A lot of us there at the SG forums prefer realism...so again, I apologize:rolleyes:

Sarcasm

Have you guys ever heard of sarcasm???? If you read any of my stuff you ll know I hate FIFA, I was giving the usual FIFA players response...

As you will know if you have played my EPL patch, or when you play the new CL patch, then I love the fact that different players play in different ways...

FIFA must be the best.

The first FIFA was released nearly 10 years ago and EA have released new versions at one year intervals (sometimes 6 months) where they gradually fine-tune the gameplay and features, making the game more and more realistic and joyful to play.

After 10 years of rapid advancement in computer technology, just imagine how good FIFA must now be.

It's good news all the way......until you turn it on and try playing it......f*ck me....are EA employing monkeys to do their programming thesedays?

Releasing versions by a so short time interval is not really good for a game...it's better to release a game that has been more prepared and you're not forced to bring out a version every year...like iss.

And Konami has a lot more football gaming experience than EA you know, they started their first game in 1985 (Konami' S Football), but the second version was only 6 years later and it was great (Konami Hyper Soccer on NES)...

ZePenguin

I know...just wanted to put EA a little more down :p

They think they know what the beautiful game is ('reinventing the beautiful game' *cough*cough* yeah they reinvented it, they even give it a new neame (the crappy game)
