Since we know that the rosters are going to be painfully outdated, how many of you are going to spend most of your time in ML, where the rosters won't make much difference? I know I probably will. I don't really have the time to go through and edit all the teams, so I'll most likely just do major fixes and try to live with it.

Hopefully, though, Konami will continue to release soccer games here in the states, but I also hope that they would be the "latest and greatest" instead of 2nd best.

Well the only team that does not the real roster in ML is yours. Every other team will have their real roster. So if you are playing against, Real, Ronaldo will not be in their lineup. Of course, when you purchase a player, that player is no longer with their former team. Believe me, you will get to know every player in the game. Especially the stars. Some people don't like the ML because they think it's not real. I personally like it. You can assemble a dream team. Of course, you can only have a player for max of five years on your team. And you can also play with classic players like Pele, Maradona, Cantona, etc...

the reviewer is a very hardcore sports video gamer period.

he has been gaming and been reviewing sports game forever....

soccer isn't his favorite.... that does not mean he isn't knowledgable.... bc he is very reliable and very tough on sports games.... and a sports game to get a 9 from him is very good imo.

I think it says a lot... he is not passionate about the sport of soccer like the he probably is with the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB...... however.... this soccer game stands out...... that's why it was reviewed by him and mentioned in the mag. even though isn't no soccer maniac...... he is saying this sports game is one of the best he has played in a long time out of all sports.

does that make more sense?

It's great that he found the game enjoyable...but without being a soccer fan, it doesn't mean a hell of a lot to me.

I'm sure the game is fantastic, but that guy did the first review ever of the game, I'd completely ignore it.

BTW, how long is the review? Standard EGM stuff (i.e. a paragraph or two)?

So are the player names in WE6I REAL? That'd be good...see (HA, ha I can hear you sigh) that why I like WTS 2003!! Real leagues bro--EVERY major cup---and like three or four divisions in each depaending what league you play for. (Not like you dont know) WE6 might blow my doors off- i played my ISS Evo till it was a triangle so I'm versed--- I don't know.... WTS 2003 sure has some good points!!!

I think WTS 2003 is better than FIFA 2003, but it's still far behind WE6/WE6FE.

Yeah you have all the leagues, divisions. But most of the teams play the same. The gameplay is not that good. I did'nt like WTS 2003 too much. But it is better than the trash called FIFA... IMHO.

I don't understand why there is so much doubt about this upcoming title of WE6I!?

I was a FIFA gamer since '98, buying every version through Fifa 2002. I always got bored with the game within' a month though due to lack of realism and strategy. It was a straight forward run right up the field and score. No build up, no thought, no strategy, it was just down right ugly how bad EA had butchered the sport.

I was then introduced to WE6 last year by the_man, many many thanks again bro! Talk about a revolutionary soccer game compared to anything I have ever played. WTS 2002 had tons of leagues and teams, and though it was a bit better than FIFA, it still lacked the same things as FIFA!

Take everyone's word for it in this forum and just buy WE6I if you have been stuck with FIFA and WTS all your lives! You will be truely amazed and satisfied!

As it has been mentioned, player names and teams can be edited. If you are worried about your squad not being up to date, you can easily make it up to date by aquiring them through the ML! I might be wrong about this next comment, but I believe that WE/PES is the only soccer game that gives you the opportunity to win the treble, which gives you an awesome feeling if accomplished!

Just read some of the threads in here about strategy, crossing, defense, formations, and many other topics. That all is proof enough to get a glimpse of how deep and intense this game truely is!

So to sum up everything I have said, to all people who doubt this game, DON'T!!! heheh. This game is just fantastic and probably will be the best investment in a game you will ever make, until later additions to the series!

There IS slowdowns, only in set pieces though where there's lots of players on the screen, it's always been like that in the WE/PES series on PSX/PS2.

the in-game visuals suffer a bit due to some pretty consistent slowdown and a lack of visual detail. To be fair, the visual detail is hardest hit when the camera is pulled back. Angles such as Wide and Normal Long make the players look generic and anonymous. But it doesn't speed up the graphics.
