I appreciate what you're saying darling but for me Goodfellas just doesnt have the clout or the resonance.

Here's another good question - which has the better CAST out of Goodfellas and Godfather 1?

DeNiro, Pesci, Liotta, Sorvino, Carlos*son, Bracco etc

vs

Brando, Pacino, Caan, Duvall, Cazale, Hayden, Keaton etc

The combined weight of Pacino and Brando probably swings it, but Liotta, Pesci and DeNiro are such an awesome and iconic trio, plus I prefer Bracco's "married to the mob" performance than Keatons. Mind you, Duvall and Steling Hayden are two of my all time favs. It's a tough call.

Smokin' Aces

Just awful isn't enough to describe this. Easily Worse film of the year for me so far
It's not THAT bad - I thought it was a good premise, if badly done and with an awful ending. I've seen worse this year.

Last night I watched Mississippi Burning - not bad at all. Hackman is just one of my favourite actors of all, could watch him all day, and Willem Defoe is capable of some really sublime performances also, though he wasn't used all that well in this. It's a bit over the top as a movie, something which Alan Parker is often guilty of, but I still think it's a very important film about this time in American history, and the counterbalance of the protagonists isolation with the frequent cuts to nationwide news broadcasts and the sheer scale of the FBI operation was extremely well realised. A very brutal, gritty film which, although lacking realism in some areas, is still extremely valuable, as well as being an entertaining, suspense-filled watch.

For some reason, i been avoiding this film all costs, but after viewing it i had a great surprise. The best movie Russians made so far.
The thing that surprised me the most is none of that fake stupid acting that is usually produced by russian actors and finally a very good storyline with nice script, got the feeling that i'm right in the middle of action for a second. IMO, Russians made far more superior war movie then Americans. US includes too much of that superiosity over it's enemies element, where Americans act like unstoppable machine while it's enemies are a mindless joke. And CGI cannot save the whole movie, no matter how good it is. Also i very underappreciate the happy ending factor, especially the superman helicopters flying from nowhere and saving the whole squad, just before they get their ass kicked.

First Snow

I came across this little gem about a couple of months back when Pearce was promoting it , and being a huge fan of his, I just had to ******* check it out, man.

Anyway, yeah. I don't know exactly when it was released and if it qualifies for the award nominations this year, but both Guy Pearce and the writers of this movie deserve to be recognized, man. The cast is phenomenal....Fincter and Piper Perabo were both under utilized which kinda sucked since I dig 'em both a lot aswell, but that didn't much take away from the movie since this is a Pearce dominated masterpiece a la Memento and to a lesser extent, the Proposition. What a ******* awe-inspiring acting job, man.....I cannot praise 'em enough for how he carried this one, man.

Oh....one other actor who was awesome and should be lauded in his bit (but critical) role is J.K. Simmons. I have a habit of taking character actors like him for granted usually because they're just so consistent and effective in their small parts, but he gave a stirring and beautiful performance here, man.

And the dude who played the Vincent character was a total force aswell.....can't forget about him, man. I've never ******* heard of 'em, but he really impressed me a whole helluva lot too, man.

300. The badass. The normal storyline if you wont be sticking your nose in every history detail, and the real dog hunger for every Matrix fan - slow motion. And lot's of it. LET'S GET OT RUMBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! PAMP-PARAMPA-PAPRAPAMPA-PAPAMPA.

9/10. No happy ending makes a perfect slice of meat even juicier.

Watched Analyze This last night.

What a great film, really. It made me laugh, I haven't seen such a good comedy in a long time. It's definitely worth watching (Y)

Spiderman 3. Wasn't all that good. If you like average movies with cool special effects (i.e. comic book movies) you'll like it anyways.
