(don't remember the English title, but the Danish is "Tranerne Flyver Forbi" which means "Cranes (are) flying by")
Anyways: Great, great Soviet movie, which breaks off from the Socialist Realism trend of focusing on self-sacrifice and fellowship instead of the individual. Very well-filmed as well, especially the scene where Boris is killed, and later on, the scene where Veronika (the protagonist) attempts suicide.
The last scene with Veronika running around at the train station, hoping to find her loved one in the crowd, is just heart-wrenching.

Dragan, you're on your way to be another obscure european director, whose highly intellectual pictures will be a mix of impossible dialogues that get the audience nowhere and random explicit sex scenes between eastern european actresses and male french actors.
