YELLOW CARD: Untrustworthy

I don't know about that, worst streak granted but your teams not exactly poor. If they seriously want a player they will go get them. Injuries has been your main problem. When you miss such quality players as Gerard and Torres of course your not going to play your best.

Its not the tactics, he knows what needs to be done. If anything your players need to step up. But such are fans and the media looking for a scapegoat.

Sunday will be a interesting game. You did the double on us last season and with the way you have been playing your team will be wanting to come out and prove a point.

The pressures certainly on though, you lose and it could really hamper your season. United should take advantage of your low but I figure Liverpool will come out likes its the champions league final :D

Without Gerrard or Torres... I don't expect you to have ay problems.

You're gonna lose this weekened, Benayoun can't save you every time. But I wish you'd at least get a point.

Relegation candidates.

There's really nothing else to say. We should seriously start considering some academy kids......youth is needed to establish some depth.

We've bought so many players but we've sold a bunch of them. We then used some of the money that we recouped from their sale and then did the same thing again. The net result is that that we've sold far too many of our buys...Crouch, Kewell, Bellamy, Keane, Zenden, Luis Garcia......that has ended up destroying our depth, in comparison to a club like Chelsea. It seems like Benitez wanted a starting XI and nothing more. No wonder he can't rest players....there's no one worthy enough to fill the spots occupied by the regulars.

Anyways, Aquilani is back...let's see if he's worth sh*t.

As far as the latest losing streak, there is only one person to blame: Fabio Capello. He played Gerrard, who was NOT 100%, in a MEANINGLESS WC Qualifying game. What is the result of that? Gerrard hasn't been able to fully recover, he may not play against Man United and, if he does, he won't be even remotely close to 100%.

Oh, and Oh-weeeennnn returns to Anfield on Sunday.

Missing one player should not be an excuse for losing for a club like Liverpool... Liverpool definitely needs more backup and utility players. I agree that Capello shouldn't have used Gerrard for such a meaningless match though.

Senior Squad
come on now, it wasn't fabio's fault... if Gerrard or liverpool staff thought there was a risk he would of just had one of those phantom injuries again that last one international game.

Besides as pointed out why is there so much reliance on said players? Although I don't believe its so. The whole team has had a dip in performance. No one or two player is to blame. The team effort is down.

What I don't get is why Rooney got to to miss the match and Gerrard didn't. Same goes for Torres and I think it was Iniesta or Xavi.

Benitez must be a real prick for the NT's to **** him up like that. Both those guys had knocks. But Liverpool isn't good enough even with them, and they're worse than half the league without them.

Cheers guys, well done today. Torres and Yossi played extremely well, and even Lucas was quite good. Heck, your worst player managed to score a goal.

That could have gone either way. Some would send him off, some wouldn't. Brazilian comms thought it was the right decision to give him a yellow, and I know English comms thought a red would be more appropriate.

If you are the last man and you prevent the player that gets behind you from going through on goal, its a straight red. That's as clear cut rule as tripping an opponent in the penalty box. There can't be any arguments there man. The only time a yellow would have been appropriate is if there was another defender infront of Owen ready to cover incase Carragher failed to deal with the ball. But since Carragher was by far the last man, he has to be sent off.

Not what the officials think, mate. In their words: "The fouled player has to have full control of the ball and has to be moving towards the goal but Michael Owen did not fulfil either condition."
