Newcastle seem to have agreed on a transfer fee & with Rafa still completely uninterested, looks like Owen's becoming a Toon :nape:

i can see him scoring against us for sure now.... :nape:

the only positive from this week is that those blue nose are out of the CL hahahahahahahaha.... another CL wannabe :ewan:

fúck owen.

he is a cock sucker. the amount of easy chances he missed for liverpool in big games was quite disturbing. he is, in my opinion, the most over-rated player on earth. even if we did want him we would have to pay £18 million for him and that would make a lot of sense after selling him for £8 million little over 12 months ago. He thought he was too good for us, maybe he wanted to win a champions league medal or something and decided madrid was the place to be. I hope he goes to Newcastle and rots with them in mid table.

We need to get a striker. We do need a right sided midfielder, but we need someone to get on the end of the midfielder's through balls etc. We have a speedster, an aeriel targetman, a strong target man, but no finisher.

I reckon Morientes was supposed to be a finisher. He used to be top scorer in Spain. Dunno what is happening to him, guess he still has to adapt to the English game.

nah i know where you're coming from Owen did often miss a lot of chances, but since Owen we have had big problems scoring, maybe he would solve the issue.

He might have missed a :sb9:load of sitters but at least Owen could easily score 15 to 20 goals in a season. We'll be lucky if both Cisse & Morientes together score that many. £18 million is a lot but thats what Newcastle are offering. Liverpool might have been able to hammer out a better deal if they had shown interest in the 1st place. As Amika said it would sure suck if he scores against us. Bigtime!!

They reckon Owen doesnt want to go to Newcastle on any permanent transfer, and would only go there on a season long loan...

He has his heart set on a return to Liverpool, Stevie G wants him back, Parry wants him back, the fans want him back, seems like Benitez is the only one that doesnt :(

i think baros could aswell. but i think there both crap. we need a right winger and another central defender more than we need another striker.

although maybe if we get another striker pongolle will get the hint! (6)

I don't want Owen back. The guy left when he fancied more medals and now we've won the CL he wants back. I find it quite funny that it was the season he left that we did well. I think that says enough alone.

I still think its not a striker we need, its someone in midfield, yes a right sided one but also an attacking centre one. Yes Gerrard is good and all, but he can't create chances for anyone but himself. Give Cisse & Morientes the chances, one is bound to go in soon and then the player should gain their confidnece back and start scoring. Thats bound to rub off onto the striking partner.

I think we can get through... actually I think we should get through without too many problems...
it does seem more balanced than the other groups and it does deserve the group of death tag, but we went through in a group with Barça and Roma not long ago...

We should be able to beat anderlect, struggle to beat betis and draw with chelsea. That is what i can see us doing. I would love it so much if chelsea were knocked out although they are gaining more respect from me as mourinho isnt quite the bastard he was anymore. Owen to liverpool wiuld be awsome. Yes he might miss those sitters but he is one of liverpools greatest players always scoring when we need him most. I admit it wasnt the same last season without him on the squad and im very sure you guys can relise that to. Now alongside the likes of morientes, cisse upfront, with more in depth support from alonso, sissoko, gerrard hamann and with our solid backline owen seems to be a great addition. I really dont want hij at any other english club though. Just wouldnt seem right.

i felt asleep after watching the 1st half and then went back to bed... thanks guys for messing with me again like the UCL final... but luckily last time i stayed back and watched the whole match but not this one... (6)

Yellow Card
Captain Jamie Carragher: :jap:

"It is nice to win this trophy and we're looking to win as many as we can now.

"We were without Stevie tonight, but it was nice to lift the cup and it was a great honour."

"Djibril probably wants to prove a point and he reacted in the right way.

"He won the Cup for us tonight."
