Keane in his prime was a better player than Gerrard.

Don' t think that Gerrard is in his prime yet. If he stays in the EPL, he could be better than Keane and Viera but that will almost certainly will depend on injuries and the quality of players that surround him....Keane and Viera, in their prime, and now Lampard were/is surrounded by better talent.

thats well gay.

after the past few months im gonna have to change my tune, cisse is pish and isnt good enough. hes too selfish and nobody knows what hes going to do next. has to go and be replaced by someone to partner crotch.

:boohoo: WE DESERVED BETTER!!!!!!!!!!
damit man. We had all the possesion and all!!!!!!!!!!! that stupid ferdinand head! dam it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear if Cisse scored that sitter my post will be much different. Not to pick on sissoko all the time but yet again he's the shaky part of our team. We need to play a team with gerrard as CM as he always runs to the centre leaving only finann on the right. ComE ON beNITEZ where's SIMAO!!!!!!!!!!
a depressing loss, hopefully we can make it up by winning our 2 games in hand to get 2nd place then beat chelsea to.
that is all...

The flag was up on Cisse's sitter anyway.....but it was still a horrible miss. I'm not suprised by the result. Was praying that they would hold on to the 0-0 scoreline but, **** happens :(

From the match analysis last night, it seems Kromkamp was too blame, he lost Evra which lead too the free kick and then from the free kick he lost Rio. He was brought on 2 minutes before, I don't see how we could expect him to be anywhere near up too the speed of the match.

Kromkamp had a good match for the ressies yesterday. I think he just needs to settle in with the pace of the game here. I'd rather he gradually warm up to the task rather than start with a bang only to end up in a whimper. Ah...those were the days when Kader was sporting a Josemi sig, a rather nice one too. :p

congrats on getting fowler back. He's got a few goals left in him yet, and it would be nice if he hung 'em up at Anfield as a hero, even if he is a real bastard ;)

its always good to see a player go back to the place that made him great

Next target: Some guy from Deportivo named Victor

I don' t remember his hearing his name in the one Depor game I have watched -----> a sound 4-0 crunching of Milan.

God has returned

Really hope he starts putting some in. It would make it a fairy-tale comeback & we need the goals as well (H)

That rival supporters see it fitting to label him a right bastid or a cunt or any other terms of endearment is partially due to their grudging admiration and acknowledgement of a scally who's a footballing genius despite his colourful history. He hasn't been a model of a footballing professional and he himself admits that, it's just the fact that we've come to see him for what he is in essence, a massive supporter of the club, just like everyone of us, who is blessed with the ability to pull on the famous red shirt and be an idol to the worshipping Kopites.

That Rafa sees it fit to underline the importance of bringing in someone with a manic passion and desire to see the club achieve glory is testimony to the extent that the gaffer values his intelligence on the pitch and the expected uplifting effect in morale and spirit within the dressing room and amongst the terraces likewise. Add to the fact that Rafa is not one for sentiment; he wouldnt have come in for Robbie if he doesn't see anything that the latter could bring to the present side. With Reina, Carra, Sami, Xabi, StevieG and Robbie, we have strong personalities with much talent and leadership to consolidate the strength of the team. Hopefully Robbie will let his football do the talking and integrate himself into the system that Rafa has set for us and that means showing greater desire to improve his fitness and his mobility on the pitch (as movement on and off the ball is quintessential to the way we play now) in addition to his attitude and mentality.

Having said that, I'm quietly confident that this move will be one of the most astute that the club has pulled off. Even scallies grow up one day.

Welcome home you bastid ;)

Well said, I was beginning to think there was no place for romance anymore in this game.

just saw that Fowler signed for Liverpool...i am very very surprises didn't expect that lol....i am quite happy as he was a hero for the club but right now...i dun think it's the player that we need.... we already have very good strikers....Moro,Crouch,Cisse(although he hasn't been so good lately...probably mainly cuz he is frustrated not being first choice but he was France leading scorer for qualifying stage of world cup!!!)..and Sinama Pongolle immense talent...)....Fowler hasn't been great since he's been in city too....
i am just glad to see him back but not that impressed....

Borrowed a post from someone on koptalk.

Just checked some facts about him, it's a little worrying that he turns 30 in february but I guess he's just a temporary solution alá Nunez.
I wonder which players Rafa had in mind for the RW, the list might have looked like this:

1. Simao (x) - What a hassle!
2. Joaquin (x) - Too expensive!
3. Alves (x) - Too expensive!
4. Galleti (x) - Too expensive!
5. SWP (x) - C*nt as a manager!
6. Pennant (x) - Am I really interested?
.
.
.
.
.
.
55. Victor (Check) - Finally!
