At least get the grammar right! (6):(;)

Must say I'm concerned with the news, I know a few of my friends went down to London today to go to UCL, hope they're OK. People who do things like this make me sick. I would use stronger words but they'll just be starred out. Bombing the innocent is no way to put across any form of message. (and don't give me crap about British involvement in Iraq, or the Dresden bombings or anything, I didn't support them at all)

Very strong response from Blair.

Our determination to protect our values and way of life is much greater than the extremists.

As for the attacks it's clear they are co-ordinated to hit us where it hurts at the busiest time of the day. I know casualties are horrific but if Al Qaeda wanted to inflict more casualties they could and would have done.

What scares me the most is the "underground bombings" part.....any reports of tunnels and stuff like that crumbling? I hope to God not. :(

Not sure about tunnels collapsing etc. but they're mounting a rescue operation at the moment to get people out of the train at King's Cross.

BTW apparently there was also an explosion at Moorgate, making it 7 blasts.

What I don't get is why they bombed (if it was actually Al Qaeda) Aldgate East (just down the road from me) and Edgware Road, which are both in predominantly muslim areas.

Current reports are of rescue efforts at Kings Cross where there is believed to have been a major incident on one of the underground lines. All transport services within London are suspended. All rail lines into London are closed.

Larry was on to something, though. I guess it's not coincidence this happens one day after London won their bid to host the Olympics... I bet Paris just avoided a similar attack when the Olympic Committee chose London.

I mean, this is just... No matter what really happened, terrorist attack or not, just a sad day. My condolences to the victims, families and londoners in general.

I think this has nothing to do with the Olympics, but more with the G8 Summit.

Ok one time sucks, Two just plain blows, But three at three I just draw the damn line. Im tired of it, these hairy lil pussys runnin around blowing up busses, trains, airplanes, bikes, scooters you get the point. If I ever get my hands on any terroist I will kick him in the nuts harder than I would ever have kicked any soccer or football in my life then I will break his arm. I will be so outraged. then comes the following. Break both of his balls, I will crush his neck, rape his nostrills, poke his eyes out with my pinky then I might give him a wet willy.
ok so im sorta pissed about all this stuff now.

this has to do with terrorists trying to inflict panic in everybody again. probably it's because of the G8, i don't see anyone planning this fast enough to be because of the Olympics..anyway those terrorists should all go to hell, this is really starting to annoy me,..

I'm sick and tired of this :sb9:, it's on every channel here on Aus, Some Australian guy who was in one of the blasts that survived, had also experienced the Bali bombings, what kind of ******* luck is that, he was down in tears, he's best mates Girlfriend is missing, i hope she's alright, so now the ''terrorists'' have got America, England, Bali, i say there are next going to strike in Australia the next 3 or 4 years, this is :sb9:, i hope your mates are alright Dave, also in one of the blasts was there a suicide bomber?

Multiple explosions are al qaeda's calling card, if it wasn't them then it was obviously sympathizers to the same cause. It's sad that this comes at a time when people around the world are coming together to at least try to help poverty in Africa.

Dave, all the communication networks are shut down in London so the emrgency services can use them freely.

The best advice is to not try and ring anyone at all. The network is struggling to cope, the fewer people trying means people can get through, maximising the connections, thus meaning those people will not longer be trying in half an hour or so.

yeah I can't through to my girlfriend. I think she'll be alright (she lives near Baker Street) but I wanna make sure.

I feel sorry not only for those effected by the blasts but now I can see abacklash against any Muslims in the country. :(

London blasts fit Al Qaeda-type pattern: analysts

Apparently coordinated blasts across London's transport network bear similarities to last year's Madrid bombings and suggest an attack in the style of Al Qaeda, security analysts said.

Officially, there was no immediate confirmation from British authorities that they were treating the explosions as an attack by militants.

London's police chief said there were about six blasts.

The use of near-simultaneous attacks to cause maximum damage and panic is a tactic frequently used by Al Qaeda, from the 1998 bombing of two US embassies in East Africa to the September 11 attacks on the United States with four hijacked airliners in 2001.

Since then, the pattern has been repeated in deadly attacks attributed to Al Qaeda or like-minded Islamist militants in Indonesia, Kenya, Morocco, Saudia Arabia, Turkey and Spain.

The London blasts, at Underground stations and on buses, had clear echoes of March 11, 2004, when 10 bombs hidden in sports bags exploded on four packed commuter trains in Madrid at the height of the morning rush hour, killing 191 people.

"There are lots of parallels with the Madrid blast ... We have to assume it's a terrorist attack," German security analyst Rolf Tophoven said.

"The first thing that's very obvious is the synchronised nature of the attacks, and that's pretty classic for Al Qaeda or Al Qaeda-related organisations," Budapest-based security analyst Sebestyen Gorka said.

"If we're talking about several attacks on one day, then there's a good likelihood we're talking about a known quantity here ... the similarities to Madrid are clear."

As with the Madrid attacks, which occurred three days before a general election, the London blasts appeared timed to coincide with a major political event.

They took place as leaders of the Group of Eight (G8) nations were meeting on the first full day of a summit in Scotland - an event which required its own massive security operation and drew heavily on police and counter-terrorist resources.

Britain has three decades of experience combating Northern Irish guerrilla violence but it has not until now suffered an Islamic militant attack, although police say they have thwarted several attempts and have said repeatedly a successful strike is only a matter of time.

Britain presents a likely target for Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda and affiliated groups because Prime Minister Tony Blair's Government has staunchly backed US President George W Bush in the war on terrorism, including the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Casualties from Thursday's attacks were unclear but they sent financial markets diving and threw London, Europe's biggest financial centre into chaos.

Propaganda messages from bin Laden have shown a keen awareness of the economic impact of Al Qaeda attacks and attached importance to hitting economic targets and key infrastructure.

F*ck off.

London major Livingston sumed it up the best:

"Black and white, Muslim and Christian, Hindus and Jews, young and old, it was an indiscriminate attempt to slaughter irrespective of any considerations for age, class, religion -- whatever."
