London Underground Explosions

Really can't believe this, there are some severely fucked up people out there. What is the point of attacks like this? they only kill innocent people.
BBC are now reporting the death toll as 33 not including the bus blast in which "an unknown number died".

I'm just counting myself lucky that I wasn't there, I almost arranged to meet someone in London this morning which would have meant going on the Tube at almost exactly the time of the explosions.

the west has become more of a scapegoat for extremists these days anyhow. If the US or Britain wasn't even involved there would still be terrorism, they'd just target those who didn't adhere to their strict doctorine. I remember seeing a documentary about rising anti-west sentiment in Uzbekistan and one guy they interviewed said he wanted to martyr himself and kill as many Americans as he could, the reason being "he didn't want Americans to come to his country and turn thier women into lesbians" This isn't the mindset of someone who's concerned about any government policy.

No one said they deserved it. If you think we did it's all in your head.

We're saying there's obviously a connection between UK's stance in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and the fact that they're the closest allies to the US and this attack.

My point is that they don't pick on the west and precisely US, UK and Spain because they felt like it. And if you fail to acknowledge why they picked these countries and why they hate US you're making the exact same mistake that the US and their allies have done which is the reason is why terrorism is growing and not stopping.

Every action as stupid as it may seem to you and me and to our way of life has a cause. We may argue that killing people isn't the way of dealing and it won't solve anything but that's not the point here. The point is that you're failing to realize and think about what lead to that action. And the only way to eradicate terrorism in the middle east in the way the US are going is to kill everyone, because the reasons to hate the west will grow and grow and it won't stop.

there was an explosion on tavistock square which is literally round the corner from the Indian YMCA where i was staying. Blood f-ck the whole inner city public transport is done, no-one has any clue how to get home, i walked all the way to finchley FFS.
Reports on the death toll are quite scewed, BBC says 28, some others say 33 and i was talking to a policemen near kings cross and he was like altogether there are 20 fatalities and a hell of a lot more in critical condition.

The Medical associations building is a complete mess, probably a suicide bomber on the top deck of a bus because the whole top came completely off, there was blood all over the walls...sorry if thats too graphic but it stuck pretty vividly in my mind.

As an Indian am i getting seriously pissed off with people thinking that im some extremist muslim coming to kill them all, i've already been frisked twice on the way home and i can forsee it becoming like heathrow where all the brown people form a seperate que to have there bags completely opened and turned upside down.

yeh on the way home i overheard this man talking about how the government should get all 'the extremists' and cut their 'goolies' off , which i can only assume means balls. :kader:

the phone lines in london don't really work right now and if im lucky i can get a few phone calls into my friends, a couple of them had to use the northen line this morning, i hope they weren't anywhere near kings cross.

OMFG, I give up... I did not say that any of you said they deserved it, and you don't need to explain to me why recent terrorism has taken place in the US, UK, and Spain, that's a no-brainer. Again, I was directing my comment to the rare few individuals who DO make comments blaming the innocent victems when things like this happen, failing to separate them from their governments policies. You guys have totally misinterpreted me and taking this into a completely different direction. I don't know what else to say.

This is not the first terrorist attack on London and probably won't be the last. My condolences go to those who have lost loved ones, been injured or have been affected by this.

i just realised the irony of bombing edgware road, which is the main area of buissness for muslims, where most of them go out and also where the most hashisha bars are in all of london, why would you make muslims a target...idiots

I was up early this morning and as I was walking the dog, the polis stopped me from walking down an entire street, as someone LAST NIGHT posted hand written notes through their doors warning of an imminent terrorist attack in Britain.

Cue London this morning.

Christ almighty, this was in bloody Edinburgh!

If that is true (not your story, but the police's), then we'll probably hear more of it in the following months, after all clues are followed.
But that is strange indeed. Seems like you have a nice muslim, terrorist, bomber neighbour then. :|

I can't believe how this kind of people can live with the idea that they are totally sick persons. Why do they always have to kill innocent people, blow up train stations and hijack planes?

Please don’t use the Iraq card.....

9/11 was before engagement in Afghanistan and Iraq. Hatred of the West has been around for a long, long time.

What these animals do is manipulate religion and twist the words of the Qu'ran in order to brainwash people with their extremist views.

They despise the Western way of life. They hate our values, hell maybe it's even jealousy?

Virgo, if given the chance are you telling me Al Qaeda wouldn't do the same in Paris or any other Western country which hasn’t been involved in recent hostilities in the middle East?

Britain has witnessed worse scenes during the height of the IRA. We didn't let them dent our resolves and we defeated them.

The best way to retaliate against terrorism is to stand united. Our will to defend our way of life is much greater than the will of extremists to bring death and destruction to our societies.
