I don't think Scolari will come either. More likely he'll mess Shinawatra around for a bit to secure more money from the Portuguese FA. Big Phil seems to have a genuine fear of the British press digging into his private life, god only knows why!

Help?

8-1 lol? That just puts an icing on the cake to a great ending of the season. And if Sven gets the booted that will be like a leftover desert.

great way to end the season. we had a UEFA Cup spot thanks to FIFA Fair Play as of today, but Dunne's red card and Sun's yellow might **** that up :( yet to hear any news on if we're still in or not. what a pathetic finish to the season, Sven just dug his own grave, if there was any hope that he would stay, it went out the window. ugh

Perfect way to go out. Fans fighting and ripping out seats, player sent off when a fair play entrance into Europe is at stake, eight goals let in by a keeper who is leaving anyhow, a manager who gave up a couple of weeks ago and players who have followed suit, an owner who knows **** about football...

This is City and its why I love them!!!

Viva la City! CHAMPIONS 08/09!!!!

I think we still qualify for UEFA Cup though. Ironically.

It'll be announced later this week(about the UEFA Cup spot), although it looks grim for Sven.......as for Shiniwatra,IMO I think he only purchased the club for self publicity to begin with, not Man City or its fans' fault but his impatience could really cost the club big time.......

Sven's gonna stick with the team temporarily to lead them through the Far East tour. after that, who knows. I hope we do get the UEFA Cup spot, might encourage certain players who might have been thinking of leaving to stay

And we make it into the UEFA Cup. Provided things don't spin into further turmoil over the summer, it might just be the tonic for keeping things together.

phew. rumours flying around that Dunne is buying out his contract. I'm probably one of the 3% of City fans who wouldn't mind that. Dunne's only 28, but he was off stride this season, getting past his prime, no influence as a captain, way too many stupid mistakes. we have the cash to sign a quality replacement methinks. or just shift Corluka in the middle with Micah and have Nedum on the right. perfect.

So....... probably about time to get SWP back huh? I'm sure Chelsea will let you have him for nothing.

Maybe. Unfortunately he is a victim of the 'buy anyone that looks any good' phase that Chelsea goes through sometimes. Although he would leave for much less than what the club paid for him, I suspect somewhere like Arsenal or Liverpool would be more likely destinations - Arsenal would probably hld most attraction for him due to his Dad, plus the fact his style might be more suitable there, and if Hleb leaves..... I actually think he won;t be returning to City as it would in his mind be a step back and a concession he can't get better - although I think he would be excellent in a team like Arsenal where he would have more license and 'power' isn't the be all and end all.... he was never a good fit for Chelsea.

I think Chelsea are gonna hold stubborn about SWP and try to sell him back for close to what they got him for unfortunately. and like you said Aaron, he's destined for Arsenal, it's just a matter of time.

City officially part ways with Sven by mutual consent today. Honestly not sure what to think, he obviously deserved more time even if his tactics were left unchanged no matter how bad the results. We've officially approached Mark Hughes though, wouldn't be a bad replacement, has EPL experience... even if he is a scum :S

lets hope he brings santa cruz with him to solve our striker situation. nelson wouldn't be bad to shore up the defence either (yes as a NZ er I am biased)
