Well they held on so the gap is just one point now.

But now WE have to deal with Tottenham...

Whereas Chelsea will have to deal with Pool... as Mikey pointed out.

United games left: Spurs, Stoke, Sunderland
Chelsea games left: Stoke, Liverpool, Wigan.

I'm pretty sure Liverpool will put on a fight since they'll be in deep **** if they lose. A draw would be awesome... But now I hope we win all our remaining games... We badly need to.

Glad to finally see Terry get a deserved red card. How many dangerous challenges did he make in that game? Another penalty turned down from him and finally one given for his handball. I used to look at him as a great leader and a role-model, but ever since those news of him cheating on his wife came out, he seems to be more and more of a dirty player every week. Too bad he will only miss Stoke's visit to the Bridge, which is 3 points for Chelsea no matter who plays in defense. Stoke has nothing to play for really.

Spurs are looking quite scary though. That's both Arsenal and Chelsea dominated, thank god the game is at Old Trafford and not the White Hart Lane or I could see us losing there easily.

Cristiano Ronaldo: United Don't Miss Me

Real Madrid stars believes Old Trafford team is coping

Cristiano Ronaldo does not believe Manchester United are missing him despite his contribution at Old Trafford before his move to Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old moved to the Bernabeu last summer after six seasons with the Red Devils, where he became pivotal both domestically and in the Champions League.

His goalscoring and attacking contribution meant the Portuguese's absence was always going to be apparent, although Wayne Rooney has stepped up in front of goal this season.

The Portugal international told Sky Sports News: "Without me Manchester United have done very good things.

"They have won the (Carling) Cup, they are in the fight for the league.

"They have been knocked out of the Champions League but in my opinion Manchester deserved to be in the semi-finals but in football things happen. I wish the best for Manchester. It is always special."

Manchester United justified Ronaldo's view with victory over rivals Manchester City 1-0 at Eastlands on Saturday.

Glad to see that he's showing some respect to our team... Never thought he would do so after leaving for Madrid.

Looks simple, three wins for us and Chelsea to drop a point and the Title's ours. Well if only it were that easy (Y)

Why? He never tried to create a rift between fans and the manager or say anything bad about the club. It was very clear since 2 years ago that he wanted to play for Real Madrid and from then on he still gave it his all every time he was on the pitch. I'm sure he signed a contract with Madrid long before he actually moved last summer and yet how many times did he pull us out of trouble near the end of last season? There are lots of players that would have just walked out on training and would create a lot of media reports talking crap about the team and how they want to move. At least Ronaldo kept quite until the very last moment and played his heart out until the CL final. Remember, he almost single-handedly gave us that satisfying win over Arsenal in the semis.

I agree 100% with everything you said.

But I didn't like the way he persuaded United fans and the press that he's gonna stay for sure. How many times has he reiterated that he was gonna stay? When he was asked this question, he used to laugh off and say "this stupid question again. I'm gonna stay here. I'm gonna stay here" or these kind of stuffs. All these had me in doubts whether he respected the club and fans or not.

He should've been honest and say that he's still considering his future or something... Anyway, I have nothing against him leaving... He had a dream: he fulfilled it. Good luck to him. He's still a United legend to me. He's the one who saved our asses countless number of times. We should look at the positives rather than the negatives...

Yeah, only thing I can say to that I that Ferguson probably told him to say that so that the papers wouldn't make the team lose focus. Can you imagine preparing for the final stretch of EPL and CL games, with tabloids constantly on your back talking how your star player is not going to be around much longer. The papers would just distract the players from the task at hand.

The Chelsea/Pool game is obviously massive...it's where the season will be decided.

5 of Chelsea's 6 losses have occurred away from the Bridge...Pool have only lost twice at Anfield.

We have to stay focused on Spurs, take care of our own affairs.

But I am suddenly feeling a lot better about our chances...if Pool can at least manage a draw, the league is ours.

Good point. Thats a possibility as well. Fergie knew it that Ronaldo was gonna move in the first place. If Ronaldo said he wanted to move to the press, that would've created a major media circus which could make us less focussed, considering our game was centered around Ronaldo last season.

we shouldn't underestimate Stoke, Sunderland and Tottenham. Liverpool getting a draw or a win will be a massive boost, but we'll have to do our job as well, that is to win all games. I'm worried about Spurs the most. They're 4th right now and will put up a fight for the UCL spot. They have City at their back right now.

One thing about the Ronaldo comments I have to add...

Yeah, he did state repeatedly that he was going to stay with us...but as others have pointed out, maybe he did it because he knew that saying anything about leaving would've been a huge distraction for the team. We were in the middle of a Premiership title chase AND a Champion's League title chase...I can't even imagine the pressure the players feel when they are in a situation like that.

If Ronaldo had hinted at leaving when all of the Madrid reports really began to intensify, right around the time of the run-in for the league and the final stages of CL, it would have been a huge distraction to the team. So maybe he kept denying the reports and pledging himself to United for the sake of the team...even though he probably knew it would make him look like an ass later, he put what was best for the team at the time ahead of himself.

I think that says a lot about the respect he had for the team.

United are ready to sign Rooney for another five years. Apparently £150K per week including bonuses. The plan is to get it done before the World Cup - then Wayne will go on holiday afterwards until mid July.

Berbatov is a target for Bayern Munich, perhaps he could be used as a makeweight for a deal for Ribery? Mind you, I don't think Ribery is Sir Alex's favourite player following the Quarter Final.

Looks like City might be about to offer Joe Cole a rediculous deal - shame he would have been a nice addition to the squad.

All just paper talk of course.

Regarding the Ronaldo discussion, I think he could have handled it much better in terms of being honest with the United fans. That's the reason I began to dislike him - not that he went to Real, just that he wasn't honest about it. I don't think it would have done much more damage than the "will he, won't he" crap that went on for months. I suspect his PR people loved it - the world talking about Cristiano Ronaldo.

In any case, after yesterday we have a much better shot at winning the title, although we'll have to rely on someone to do us a favour. Almost the equivalent of needing two snookers. We got one, now we need another.

Wow!!! Wigan just Houdinied Arsenal by scoring three goals in the last ten minutes...unbelievable, it certainly is us or Chelsea to win the league

I don't believe it. I thought the season was done. I was even more depressed watching the city game thinking they may even get a goal and beat us. Then Scholes does it again! and then Chelsea lose and get a red card.

Its almost a coin toss now. Wow what a season.
