Man you're so stupid. Fergie offered him a contract, he refused. Fergie's not at fault for losing him.

Fergie was very arrogant in the way he dealt with Tevez, and people can have differring views without being stupid you fool.

Fergie waited too long to offer Tevez the contract, that's the f*****g point you dope. SAF offering Tevez a contract in January, when Tevez was obviously already unhappy with his role at the club, was like shutting the barn door after the horses have already escaped. Too little, too late.

For your info, United have started holding talks with him since around July of last year and at that time he was happy with us and was keen to stay with us. You cannot say Fergie waited too long before offering him a contract. In July Berbatov wasn't even in.

Tevez was undoubtedly unhappy with his playing time...and who decides playing time? Who is the one person that Tevez could blame for his diminished role in the team?

Again for your info, EPL statistics: Rooney: 31 games, Berbatov 29 games, Tevez 29 games. They have all played around the same amount of time. Fergie was playing with a rotation system. You cannot expect playing all games when you are at a team like United unless you are higher above the rest in your position like Evra, Vidic and Rooney.

And I can still be a fan of United but also be a fan of our former players. I will support Tevez and Ronaldo for the rest of their careers, because they were both great players for our team and both of them helped us win trophies. However, I believe that we should have done more, SOONER, to make Tevez happy and get him to sign a contract SOONER, when he really wanted it, and because we failed to do that, I will root for him to beat us this coming season.

And I'll tell you another thing...I hope we draw Madrid in CL and I hope Ronaldo scores to knock us out, because I think we were idiots to sell him.

Seriously stop being stupid. Do you support United or do you support Ronaldo and Tevez? Players comes from the club and goes, but the team still remains Manchester United. If you want Ronaldo or Tevez to score against United, go support Man City and Real Madrid. Only a stupid fan will wish his team to lose :icon_spin:

We were idiots to sell Ronaldo? Are you ignorant or something? Ronaldo wanted to go to Madrid since 3 years. It was HIS CHOICE to leave, NOT OURS. Fergie tried hard not letting him go last year remember? What else could've been done to keep him? Get real man. If you like Ronaldo better than United, go support Real Madrid, please.

The funny part is that with the likes of Santa Cruz, Robinho, now Adebayor possibly, Bellamy and Petrov, Tevez is going to have a hard time getting more games than he did with us.

That is actually quite hilarious because it shows your lack of knowledge as Robinho and now Tevez or the only world class forwards players city have Therefore both of them will be set in stone in whatever 11 that City fields.

You are one weird guy...go support City then if you hope that they beat us twice. Know your facts. SAF started offering him deals since January, he even approached Tevez to ask if he's happy with the terms being offered. Tevez gave no response whatsoever

Obviously after helping the team to a Champ League win, tevez felt hurt that Fergie went out and got a player to replace him for no good reason. He felt undermined and so would I.

For all you who dont beleive what Tevez said about Fergie only speaking on a few occasions---watch Fergie's reaction when Tevez scored his last goal against Man City.

Berbatov was never bought to replace Tevez. We were short of strikers since Saha had just left. Did you expect us to play the whole season with just 2 strikers??? Fergie had to bring on 1 more striker, so he bought Berbatov.

We could have said he was not for sale, just like Beyern have done with Ribery, Valencia have done with Villa, Atletico have done with Aguero, etc.

If I'm not mistaken he had a contract with us until 2012...so if I were SAF I would have told Ronaldo that I fully expected him to honor his contract until it was complete. I don't think that we can be forced to sell a player, can we?

It's not as easy as that mate. You cannot force a player to play for a club he doesn't want to play anymore. We are not in a Hitler regime where we have to force players to play for us whether they want it or not. His transfer was inevitable... He asked to leave a million times, we just couldn't hold him back anymore.

We managed to keep him last season thanks to Fergie for persuading him to stay and he said numerous times that Ronaldo is not for sale. That's the best he could do to try keep him.

OK,he could have brought in a 3rd striker without replacing Tevez. When all strikers were fit Tevez was 3rd choice so he was REPLACED in the starting XI.

Whatever. He's gone to City now anyway, this discussion is pointless.

Back on topic: I'm looking forward to seeing us in action again. 3 days to go. Can't wait!

OMFG. we sold Saha, we were down to 3 out and out strikers (we always have 4, ALWAYS), we brought in berbs, they played the same amount of games over the season so no SAF wasnt playing fav's, we started talks at least 6 months ago.

no, tevez left because his owners, MCA or what ever they are called, wanted to make more cash, and the most cash is to be made in transfers between clubs for agents. that is the cold honest truth to the matter. think of the money those guys just made off with guys.

not only that but he went to our city rivals and is talking a lot of crap about SAF, a man that has worked with half the EPL on some level or another, and tevez is the only one feeling disrespected. im sorry, Tevez better get his ass boo'ed every second he is on the ball.

and i can tell you this, Tevez aint gonna do squat against us in any of the derbies this year, cuz Park is going to be on his ass showing him what a massive work ethic on the pitch really is.

do you blame Tevez? you sign him first year he was starter then they brought in berba**** which they didnt need and is a much crappier striker and tevez after ana amazing first season gets demoted to bench and rots wouldnt u be very pissed when u go froma fantastic season to bench warmer?

Didn't we have this discussion in the City thread?

Tevez's first "amazing" season with United: 19 goals in 48 games
"Berbaflop"'s first "terrible" season with United: 14 goals in 43 games

And don't try the assists bull**** again, we both know Berbatov gets a lot more of those.

IF Petrov can get his form from his first season at City, he'll get to share the left wing play time with Robinho.

Adebayor is a better goal scorer than Tevez.

IF Santa Cruz can play like he did with Blackburn under Hughes, he'll definitely score more goals than Tevez.

Robinho will obviously score more goals than Tevez.

Bellamy and Bojinov will have a very hard time getting play time I agree. However, Bojinov has potential and Hughes has stated numerous times that he rates him. Say he comes on as a sub a couple of times and scores a couple of goals. What then? Wouldn't he get his chance in the first team?

All these factors mean that Tevez will have to compete with about 5 players for a starting spot. That's the way I see it.

City will also play a lot less games than United because they're not in continental competition.

You could be right though, he might get the most starts. I just don't think he will.

Hahahaha OMG.....From a City fan I can understand, he's trying to defend his new signing, but cfdemarco it seems like you have been living under a rock in the last few years. After Tevez you are also rooting for Ronaldo to score a winner against us?

Oh man I am just wondering since when and how did you become a Man Utd supporter? Cause I trully feel sorry for you..... The truth is Ronaldo already asked if he could join Real. SAF did all he could to keep him for atleast another season. Maybe you didn't notice it, but last summer Ronaldo felt that after winning the CL with us he needed a new challenge, that's fair enough. Ronaldo was a hot topic you know, he was on the news ALL SUMMER, did you miss that? And besides that to be offered such an amount, it would be stupid to not accept it for a player who doesn't want to play for the club anymore. He let SAF know that he wanted to leave atleast a year ago and I think that out of respect it was the right decision to let him go and fulfill his dream of becoming the greatest player ever. He gave his all for the club. We aren't a dictator of a club.

As for Tevez. If you know the club that well then you should have noticed that SAF always plays with four strikers. Saha went and we needed a new striker. That's when Berbs came into the picture. We can't play a whole season with two strikers you know? Or didn't you know that? This isn't PES or FM...or did you think it was? SAF did everything he could to keep him happy. Maybe you should read this http://therepublikofmancunia.com/carlos-tevez-is-a-liar/ again. If he wasn't happy or if SAF didn't make his move on time. Then why did Tevez make these comments? Didn't he even know that his signing would be finalised at the end of the season? My guess is that the situation changed around January. He could have already had a deal with City in place and is now trying to make it look like SAF and co. were the wrongdo-ers. He's trying to turn the supporters against the club, but luckily the majority of the supporters have seen through his act, well except from you, cause your reaction is what he was aiming for from the most of us. If I am not mistaken Tevez acted in a similar spoiled way at Corinthians....he doesn't want to fight for his place and as some said, if he doesn't manage to justify his price tag, then even Hughes will start to bench him. Tevez wasn't approached to late going by the reports. Those quotes aren't made up you know. I think he chose to play at City for the money and to keep contact with Park and Evra.

forget about Tevez, he's gone just like Ronaldo but unlike him he started to slam sir alex and management to explain his rival transfer.

ManU players should understand that it is an honor to just seat on the bench. I still think we need huntelaar.

Thats nonsense,as a footballer at the end of the day you must be able to look back on your career and feel you did something so this utter respect for any club is nonsense unless your being played all the time.

You think Totti or scholes would be at their clubs for so long if they weren't playing??

He has to compete with Cruz and Adebayor. Forget Bojinov or Bellamy(waste signing indeed). He definietly ahead of Cruz in the pecking order ask any pundits or read any articles. Tevez is the only world class striker they have,n please dont tell me about Ah-da-boy-poor as wenger cant wait to get him out.

Personally I'm glad Slaveboy has gone, I didn't like the idea of him playing for United "under sufference".

I'm more upset about Tevez, he gave all he had for us and I really hoped he'd stay. What makes it harder to take is all the badmouthing he's doing to Fergie. I actually have a suspicion MSI had all but done a deal with Citeh behind our backs - if you remember Citeh declared an interest in January (through the media)

United felt MSI were trying to screw them over the transfer fee, given the (then) decline in the market - hence they wouldn't pay the demanded fee.

Whatever the reasons, they're gone and as United fans we should concentrate on those who are fighting for our club from now on.
