Henry is 83kg,within that range and they are basically the same height. Even Ronaldinho is lighter, Yaya is the heaviest I've seen at 90kg. I still think that is incredible weight for Ronaldo.

This is why:

Rooney was specifically asked to play wide, Fergie said that on more than one occasion while Berba was suppose to be central. Fergie would have never asked him to play further back to accomodate Ronaldo as whenever Ronaldo did play centrally Berbatov would be benched while Rooney would be out wide.

Sell Berbatov.

Sorry man but your reasoning is absurd. You think that unlike Rooney, Berbatov chose to ignore the manager's instructions and thus decided to play in a position from which he won't have many scoring chances? Players at this level follow instructions and they follow them well. Berbatov was obviously told to play where he was playing last season. You can't tell me that as soon as he left Spurs he thought "screw being a striker, I'll ignore the manager's directions and will borderline play a midfielder instead".

Now, with Ronaldo gone, our playing style is bound to drastically change which is why I think both Berba and Rooney will get more goals next season. Plus, we'll hopefully have a couple of big signings who will add some goals themselves and those 40 missing goals will be made up for no problem.

It has nothing to do with ignoring, players at the highest level have a degree of freedom ,especially creative players. Berbatov went where he felt he could be more useful, it is known knowledge that players drift around, once again especially creative players. In any case how would I know why he played where he did, i kno Fergie would not tell a striker to constantly play midfield.

Why on earth would Ferguson bring in a striker to score goals and then tell him to play midfield when he can when the main reason he went out and bought him was because Rooney and Tevez tracked back too often? Your argument is nonsensical.

I'm sorry but neither is yours. IF Berbatov was given freedom in the beginning and Fergie saw that such freedom wasn't actually being beneficial for the player and the team, wouldn't he tell him "ok, you have to stay further up the pitch". There's 2 possible scenarios: 1, Fergie likes what Berbatov is doing being way far back and doesn't mind the lack of goals or 2, Berbatov, like Rooney, was sacrificed because of Ronaldo.

"i kno Fergie would not tell a striker to constantly play midfield." No you don't. Fergie also wouldn't leave a striker to constantly play in midfield if he didn't like it.

I think he probably did tell him something as he brought him into score goals and provide something 'different' to Rooney and Tevez who were much maligned for being too similar.

I also know Berbatov never stopped tracking back and probably Fergie got fed up and said too himself "if berbatov is going to continue to track back that then why play him?", Why would fergie play Park over him in a final? Why was he was benched at the tail end of the season even after fergie defended him?

Hate or love the guy does not fit!!

Seriously, do you guys ever stop with the Berbatov bashing? We get your point ffs.

I, for one, am interested to see Berbatov's influence on a Ronaldo-free team on a regular basis. We're obviously going to play differently this year and i think a Berbatov+Rooney partnership upfront could be pretty damn awesome.

Fergie "defended" him because when the whole team played like ****, Berbatov got the most stick. Why he was benched instead of Park I don't know. Why was Park not even in the squad for the final 2 years ago? Those kind of decisions are made for many different reasons.

Also, I'd like to remind you that when Berbatov came on, he was the only (even if minimal) threat we had @ Barca's net.

Also, your last bit about him not fitting in, you have to realize that our style of play will probably be a lot more different this coming season considering that our most influential player is now gone.

Guys lets put our faith to our general manager. I know, he will do something nice this season.. I might say Berbatov is lazy but come to think of it, he has a tremendous pass and IQ down the court..

The man speaks sense as always. (Y)

Love the new kits, just seen them on MUTV and it looks like the red is proper United red again, the kit as a whole looks great.

Indeed the design is based in some part to a 1900's kit we had which was white with a red v. Originally the new design was to be reversed - but Nike's design process lead to the v being black. The shorts look real retro, hope there will be a black pair with either a red or white stripe too.

I'm off to Youtube to find some vids of Zoran Tosic in the U21's, apparently he's been a star.

EDIT: Couldn't find much on his U21 exploids, but heres a vid of him at Partizan Belgrade. He reminds me of a young David Beckham with his longrange shooting and freekicks. That's no bad thing!

What about Rooney+Aguero?

Aguero is way too expensive plus hes just another tevez with a better goalscoring record.
I am hoping for a Saha-esque type of striker.
