You're right, I totally forgot about him.

We're still going to need another central defender for the future though...Rio is getting up there in the years and his form has been dropping the past couple seasons, plus he is injured more often than not. Vidic is no spring chicken either (I think he's 29) and will probably continue to be pursued by Madrid and I think we'll probably give in and sell him at some point.

The way I'd like to see United operate is, as soon as a player in your starting 11 turns 30, you should already have a young player lined up to be his eventual replacement. I just think that's a really good way to operate. You always need to have a plan for the future.

Our team of the future, as it currently stands in my opinion:

-----------------------Kiko------------------Chicharito------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cleverley-----------------------------------------------------------------Nani
----------------------------?-------------?-----------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fabio-------------------Smalling------------?----------------------------Rafael
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------?------------------------------------------

Man, whats the point of getting a new defender then dumping him in the reserves? I agree that over time we'll probably have to buy defenders but its not an immediate need, isn't it? We'll probably need one when Ferdinand nears retirement. Probably in 2 years or more. Certainly not now. Dumping kids in reserves only hinder their development IMO.

Help?

Yeah, you forgot about Evans. He is only 22 years old and already almost on the same level as Vidic and Ferdinand save for a few lapses here and there. So i think we are good at the back. Middle is where I agree with you that the guys we have are getting old and they aren't really that great to start with. We have Gibson who will hopefully improve the same way Fletcher did, but who knows. However, when Scholes retires i'd rather have us buy some superstar for that position, we can't have another kid in there, considering that the current midfielders shouldn't be starting in the first place.

It's too early to compare the stats of Chicharito with the likes of Rooney and Tevez, he needs more minutes and games under his belt.

But the signs are definitely promising, Hernandez seems better than Forlan was when he was at Utd.

Yeah the way he seemed to manage to bend his neck in order to backhead the ball was impressive, hope he keeps it up. It also looks like the other players are starting to understand his way of finding space

Yeah, he was supposed to be the one for the future and already after a couple of months he is pushing for a starting place. The kid is progressing immensely.

PS. We beat Wolves 3-2 in Carling Cup. Bebe was quite impressive apparently and Hernandez got another goal

Another great goal from little pea......Smalling and Bebe impressed me as well. Macheda was frustrating to watch, and Obertan should work more on his final ball, he is one of the most talented players we have, bags of potential.....just a matter of time before he fulfills it.

I didn't watch the game and I've never seen Bebe playing before except for highlights. How is he like? Is he as good as the 2007 Nani? Obertan Vs Bebe? Who's better? Is Bebe EPL quality?

I totally forgot about this game today unfortunately...anyone have a link to highlights?

Glad to hear Chicharito scored again. And Bebe got a goal too from the sound of things?

Good win against Tottenham despite them having good chances. Important to keep up with Arsenal and Chelsea at this point.

How is he doing? I haven't seen a single game of his at Blackburn. I heard he's playing as a right winger in a 4-3-3 formation.

What a LOL goal from Nani yesterday. A harsh one for Tottenham. Nani handed the ball which the refree didn't see. No freekick given but Gomes thought it was a FK. His mistake. But yeah we've been lucky on this one. If Nani didn't hand the ball it was gonna go out as GK lol

But he was indeed dragged down, it should have been a penalty. I guess both even out.

Yeah thats a certain penalty IMO, so justice paid back in a way. But a penalty can be missed as well. Anyway it didn't really change the outcome of the game. 2-0 instead of 1-0. We'd have won the 3 points anyway. Tottenham didn't look like scoring in the end.

Btw talking about Rooney, SAF said that he's out until early December and he said previously that he's not playing because of injury, but only because he needs rest. Why the hell does he need 5 more weeks of rest? I find that suspicious.

I have the feeling Fergie is trying to push his return as much as possible so that he doesn't play at all. Then he'll be sold in January. By saying the club lacks ambition and stuffs like that, he's basically put himself above the club and we all know what that means in Fergie's book. He's probably out by January. I don't see him staying to be honest. He tied up the contract for only 1 reason: to get the rid of the annoying media circus around him and to make the team focus again.

We've dealt quite well so far in his absence. Hope we continue in the same way in the next 5 weeks. We'll see what happens after that.
