Well, considering that Bergkamp has been getting away with elbowing random opponents in the face all these years there's no reason not to expect Rooney to get away Scot free...

But then Rooney plays for Man Utd, a club which the FA seems to like to punish for the smallest of offences.

I'm more concerned about the game we have tomorrow. Aston Villa could cause us trouble, especially if they held Chelsea to one goal yesterday.

Man U knows what they have to do if they want to close the gap on Chelsea and the rest. They will win against Aston Villa

I just hope Rooney doesn't miss the game against the Scousers. Alan must be a workhorse for the period Rooney is banned.

Rooney will miss the Liverpool and Arsenal games only if United appeal.

Help?

And don't forget that Bergkamp is at Arsenal. The FA = Arsenal.

Giggs gleans rest benefit

Ryan Giggs feels he has benefited from being dropped by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Wales winger was consigned to the substitutes' bench for the Premiership meetings with local rivals Manchester City and Newcastle United in early November.

United boss Ferguson took Giggs out of the firing line to give the 31-year-old a rest after several below-par performances.

But since returning to the team, Giggs has been approaching his best form and has been United's most prominent player in their last two matches.

Giggs has also shrugged off the uncertainty about his future at Old Trafford, with talks regarding a new contract having reached an impasse.

The in-form wide man admits he is grateful to Ferguson for being axed and feels The Red Devils could still catch Premiership leaders Chelsea.

"Ever since the manager gave me a break four or five weeks ago I have been feeling great," said Giggs.

"But to be fair, everyone is playing well.

"We have just got to keep this winning run going in the hope Chelsea have a blip.

"If they do, we need to be in a position where we can pounce."

Middlesbrough, at the moment, are one of United's bogey teams. It might have something to do with Steve McLaren being their manager, and that he had served under Sir Alex as assistant for a while.

The game at Villa would be hard. Villa are without several first teamers but have Carlton Cole back. It's never easy to go away from Villa Park with all three points.

Spurs at home later on in the fixture list won't be easy either. Jol has galvanised the White Hart Lane outfit and they'll be difficult to beat, seeing the run that they're in at the moment.

The same referees that equals to Arsenal's twelfth man?

Seriously watch some gaems at Old trafford.

Man Utd prctically OWN Mike Riley, plus Rooney should of been off. The guy made the most of it yes, but hands rased= auto red card.

I do watch games at Old Trafford.

The suggestion that Mike Riley favours United is the biggest myth of all.

Yes, he has given United many penalties in the past few seasons, but yet nearly all of them are undoubtedly spot kicks (all but one, I seem to remember).

Rooney should've been off. I could talk more on this subject but I think the fact that tens of posts before this has said this over and over again escaped your attention, so there's no point in me dwelling on it as well.

Hands raised is an automatic red card, but I've seen much more not given marching orders.

Keown incident was far more violent from his act of intimidation on Ruud, you tosser.

Keown's was nothing more than a violent pisstake.

Rooney's was with malice and intent to harm.

You must have been smoking something when you saw that game :|

Since when is intimidation worse than an actual violent hit in the face?
