Very good result. The team was a lot stronger on paper than I thought it would be and it's great to see us back scoring goals. Same goal difference as Chelsea now, joint PL highest and 3 points clear.

I was worried before that we wouldn't win the title this year, but we seem to have hit form just at the right time. Few games for players to return & practice just in time for inter.

No there's no we (including you that is) against West Brom. We (everyone else on this thread) are playing West Brom and your team that you supposedly support are playing against Newcastle at the City of Manchester Stadium tomorrow night. Anyone who thinks this sounds harsh then go on the Manchester City thread and you'll see for yourselves.

Anyway it'll be interesting to see what kind of team plays. Could be a big opportunity for some young players like Eckersley to show what they can do.

im referring "were" to the team this thread represents and i'm not being harsh its reality.

yeah would be good. Will be interesting to see how Villa do too. I would pay to see Villa break into the top 4 and knock someone like Liverpool or Arsenal out. Liverpool especially :innocent_smile_1:

There really looking good. I just hope they don't sell any of there stars in the summer and keep buying.

his point is you say "we" referring to united and "we" referring to city. you can't align yourself with both clubs. that's sacrilege, and the fact that you don't realize this shows you to be a glory hunter. as an american, i've studied my ass off to understand the history and heritage of Manchester United. I wanted to disprove the stereotype that american (and Canadian) fans are mindless drones who root for the team whose outlook is the rosiest. I want you to understand something: I would bleed for this club's honor.
and then you come along and usurp all my work by perpetuating the stereotype some europeans have of us.

Thanks wigan! and special mention to lucas, he's done great under Rafa's wing.

Things are looking good for us! the berba and carrick are opening up defenses and giggs is playing like a 25 year old! with vidic in the side, i doubt that our 11 game clean streak will break!

If i wanted to be a glory hunter id completely ignore city and stick with united. Unlike some people im a Fan if the CITY of Manchester and support both Manchesters Clubs i support them both and want both to do well. And when they face each other i'm Neutral.

your acting like you have to only "like" 1 club and are bound to them till the day you die. people like your are crazy fanatics that are just too obbsessed with football.

You can support as many clubs as you damn well please.

I like and Support both Manchester teams and no ones gonna tell me who i can and can't support.

Oh yah about 94% of canadians/Amercians dont give a **** about REAL football. So their isnt much to defend in terms of usa/canada being fans of footy only the small 6% ok.

I wasn't calling you harsh, I was calling me harsh for having a go about it.

I don't have an issue with liking certain aspects of other clubs. By that I mean appreciating the talent that other players have, appreciating a good youth system e.t.c But I find it strange to say you support two teams not only from the same country but the same City. If you supported Juventus and Man.City for example I wouldn't say that was weird or Portsmouth and Plymouth because they are in different leagues.

Anyway I'm not trying to make you stop 'supporting' both, you can do what you like. I just don't see how you can really support both.

farmboy- thank you, someone who knows what I'm on about.

LOL. Congrats on "studying" soccer, you're truly greater than all of us other glory hunting Americans. When did you start following soccer by the way? 1999 or thereabouts? Interesting that you're a Man U fan.

i wasn't intending to imply that all fans who are less zealous than i are glory hunters, certainly i don't believe you are, ShiftyPowers. i'm admittedly a little bit OCD. however, if you identify yourself as part of a club (ie using "we" to refer to it), i do believe you should at least know with what other clubs there's animosity. it's not just with soccer; you'd never wear a packers jersey to a chicago bears game unless you had a death wish.
anyway, i'm not trying to get in a fight with you here. my beef is exclusively with lordspawn.
ps just for fun, i started following united seriously around 2003, just as they hit probably their worst period since fergie began. i had heard about the "class of '92" and was impressed at how a club could have so much success out of their youth system. admittedly, their record during that period is still pretty impressive by most club's standards.

I would absolutely wear a Packers jersey to Soldier Field.

Fair enough, I definitely don't want to stop you from doing the lord's work.
