I said it before the game, "Gomes has been crap all season and I bet he plays brilliantly against us".
I didn't see the whole game, but it looked like we just didn't have any ideas how to break them down.
Help?;2599478 said:One of the best? Sure he was running around everywhere trying hard to get that ball, but all he did is keep it and he also had a nice shot on the turn once. It seems that for the past month all we have been doing is keeping the ball, there is just no ruthlessness to our attack. We should be killing teams like Sunderland, Aalborg, Villareal, Tottenham (especially with 2nd string defensive backline), instead we control the possession and create 3-5 real chances per game. That's just not enough. We need someone like Nani, that won't be scared to go at the players or take a shot, right now he is the only guy on a team that really has an eye for a goal. Maybe we need somebody that will shot from almost anywhere to make the teams scared of us because for the past 6 games, opposing teams have done really well just letting us contain that ball and make sure that we don't break through the holes.
Just watch the game today, everytime our player gets the ball, he turns the ball inside and passes it to somebody across the line, rather than going at a defender and beating him. Only Berbatov took on defenders and that happened just once in the whole game. I could count the number of through balls United did in a whole game on my hands.
Lucky we got that Club Championship, maybe it will give the boys a break to clear their heads and comeback strong, because this is the time when you need to be hitting the next gear and sweeping teams to have a chance of winning the league.

He cares about nothing else and frankly, he doesn't even hit the net most of the time. There's a reason why he's more and more often left on the bench. I'm hoping that the Serbian winger that's coming in January can make some sort of impact like Rafael has.
