not sure about demolishing... chelsea are no west brom or stoke. I will gladly take a narrow win. A win is important.

who said we can't demolish chelsea. We are united, champions of england, europe and the world!!!!!

Wigan is next!!!!

wow we really did demolish Chelsea didn't we...should've been 4-0, Ronaldo was never offside on that goal.

btw did they even have a shot on target? I think there was only 1 from Joe Cole straight at VDS...1st place here we come!!! I bet rafa is ****ting his pants right now.

If he isn't he should be. That was an absolutely brilliant performance. We've lacked that ruthlessness in front of goal for most of the season, but make no mistake we had that today. When I first heard the team news I thought it was a big mistake to leave Carrick on the bench but Giggs was excellent and credit to him for re-inventing himself of late in the centre of midfield. Picking Neville was also a very good move as he brings the experience that is needed for a game of this magnitude. Jonny Evans was also very solid and that'll be a great experience for him and build his confidence further. We had 11 men out there today who were ready to stand up and be counted and prove they can bounce back from defeat to Derby, and what a response.

The best I thought we would get is 1-0, although I expected 1-1, so I'm very pleased with that. I'm expecting some more clinical finishing against Wigan after that though. If we win both our games in hand I believe we have a 1 point lead at the top, so this was a massive result.

our defense was class, we rendered Chelsea's attack completely useless (H) They couldn't penetrate, all they could do was shoot from distance, which they couldn't also as there's always gonna be someone to block their shot or tackle before they shoot :D First half was a bit slow but we did some awesome defending. second half was much better and nice to watch, we were playing like we used to last season. I hope that manu can bounce back after this game and re gain last year's form. I wished Tevez played also. The fans were calling for him and were cheering for him. He must have been disappointed not coming on.

why that first goal was canceled?

was it corner? if yes, Gigs is a bastard. The way he started the game is just madness. ******* cvnt.

it was a corner. Rooney took it short and Giggs took the ball and crossed, but that wasn't counted. I think there was nothing wrong in that.

Help?

Two perfectly legal goals dissalowed for Ronaldo. But it doesn't matter, we still won 3-0! The last time we beat Chelsea in such a way was before Abramovich was there and this was probably the first time we beaten them, without actually having to kick their legs off the park. Giggs was truly on form today and everybody just did superbly, 2nd half especially. Hopefully Evra is ok. Rooney, Ronaldo and Berbatov are great, i just can't believe how all those "analysts", "commentators" and "fan boys" call Berbatov useless and a waste of money. They have been around to watch football longer than I have and yet still seem to have zero knowledge of the game.

Wow! I was nervous before the match, especially after seeing the line-up. But once again SAF showed why we should always put trust in his decisions. Giggs was fantastic, both in attack as in defence. Park was running all over the place working his ass off. I was impressed with Evans. so composed, stayed calm and he handled Drogba's strenghth very well. Oh boy how I missed Evra the last few weeks, he showed today why he is currently one of the best backs in the bizz...things are looking good at the moment, but the important thing for us now is to stay focused and make sure that we don't lose silly points....

^ What concerns me right now is that Ferdinand is having even more back problems and Evra had to be subbed off for what could potentially be a bad injury...He looked fine even when celebrating the goal :S

great game! was expecting a boring 1-0 or 1-1 draw. Lots of goals and drama today. Was impressed with Evra and Park. The shot he had on goal would of been a cracker if it went in. The run up to it was great, goalie was too sharp though.

Giggs had a great game too, that guy just keeps on going and going. So many had a great game today.

Tevez no show again? guess SAF had no reason to bring him on today. Nice and fresh for the next game. There was talking in the paper were looking at Benzema again. Probably a bunch of ****. God knows why the media think we would want him when we have a proven fire cracker in Tevez.

Tevez is more expensive and he wants to leave in 4-5 years, so we'll pay all that money to keep him on the bench for 4 years and then he will go back to South America for minimal amounts?

Great game. That set piece berb goal was outstanding. Oh, and thank God fergie has picked a new fight with someone else...with Rafa. It should keep him from the pages on marca for a while. Serious question, whats his problem? Seems he's a bloke thats hard to get along with eh?

He wasn't "picking fights" with you over the summer, he was defending his team and trying to keep it together because you were acting like a bunch of idiots trying to unsettle one of their players. All his comments on your pathetic team were true, you are like a bunch of spoiled children too used to getting what you want. No other team would be stupid enough to sign 2 players ineligible for CL, and then be arrogant enough to keep appealing to UEFA to get the rules changed just to favor them!!! Fergie was spot on about you lot, I wish Sevilla, Valencia, and Villareal get their act together and you guys finish in 5th this season.

Also, who's been picking the fight, Benitez or Fergie?
Benitez is the one who had to get personal with that outburst.
Hopefully we'll be top by Saturday.

Actually, the whole circus in the summer was Ronaldo's fault. He could and should have put an end to all of it. His side of the court is where the ball is. Player holds all power in modern football. Im sorry but you fail at your attempt to stick it to us. Go back to your redheaded stepchild, "freedom fighting" Che Guevara wanna be, inferiority complex, #2 team in La Liga history (by a long shot) team thread.

While this new Circus has been started by Rafa, not Sir Alex. Thanks for the nice comments btw, now back you go to the Real Madrid Thread! (Y)

Switching gears, I think I know why Nani and Ronaldo are struggling this year.

He helped lead the Portuguese Revolution at United (Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson, Possebon & the Da Silva Twins), he helped them settle into England and became a bit of a father figure to them. With Carlos gone, who else is there to give advice from a propective that they understand?
