VAN NISTELROOY: 'Kaka has fun and gives a touch of flair'

MILAN - Ruud Van Nistelrooy had an interview with 'Corriere della Sera'. He said: 'At the age of 32, when my contract with United expires, no Italian clubs will probably be interested in signing me. But if I had to express my preference, I would say Milan. Because of Marco Van Basten, my idol, and the strong link with Netherlands. Milan have Kaka and his crosses, his goals and especially his touch of flair. It is clear that he has fun and plays with pleasure, showing no worries but a lighthearted attitude. Kaka is young, he has a free mind.'

Maybe he's signalling to Milan "Sign me Milan!!" Haha..

Cristiano Ronaldo is hoping to cap his first season in England with a Premiership and Champions League medal, as well as a place in Portugal's Euro 2004 squad.
The Portuguese protégé has just turned 19 and now looks to be coming to terms with English football after struggling in the first few months following his move from Sporting Lisbon last summer.

"I feel more of an adult now, I feel like this is the happiest I have ever been," Ronaldo told Portuguese daily Record.

"I want to be happy and be in good health - professionally I have several desires.

"For Portugal I want to be present at Euro 2004, and in Manchester I dream that I will be English champion and will also take the Champions League.

"These are my main desires at the moment. It will not be easy to conquer these, but I will give my everything to make sure this happens."

Ronaldo's transfer from Sporting has been mentioned as one which may be investigated over payments to agents.

However, the young forward refuses to even think about any off the field problems.

"I am not going to worry about that," he said.

"A lot of things have been spoken about that, but that is not something that concerns me.

"My role is to play soccer and help the team."

I was just thinking that a big Arsenal fan like Ljungberg08, a big Chelsea Supporter like Rob, and a big Man. Utd. Supporter such as shokz should make a bet to whoever wins the premiership, the other two member have to use the champion's sig.

What do you say?

It'll cause a laugh or two:)

if you are including Rob, you might as well include Jono and Spurs4life, because Chelsea can't win a prize if they bought all the raffle tickets.

Ruud will play with us until he's 32 or 33. Fergie has asked for another 6 years of his services and i can see him forfilling that offer.

If he ever leaves United, it will be back to Holland.

Van Nistelrooy Over The Moon With His Ton

Ruud van Nistelrooy was delighted to have made it to the 100-goal mark for United following the 4-3 win at Everton.

The Dutch striker bagged a brace in the seven-goal thriller, the first of which was his 100th for the club in just 131 games.

"I'm very proud to have scored 100 goals for United," Ruud told MUTV after the game. "Especially as we managed to win the match. It was nice to get my 101st goal with the winner but the most important thing was we got the three points."

Ruud's last minute strike gave United a crucial victory as the Reds kept up the pace on Arsenal at the top of the Premiership.

"I've never been involved in a game like that before and we went through every kind of emotion," revealed Ruud. "The first half was tremendous in terms of the chances we created and the goals we scored and Everton didn't have a kick.

"Obviously we wanted to start the second half well and get through the first twenty minutes because we knew they'd come out fighting. But they scored an early goal and got back into the game. Then they got a second and a third and I started to think 'Oh my god it's not going to happen for us.'

"But we managed to find some strength from somewhere and bounce back which says a lot about our character. That's the biggest plus of today."

Ruud's fellow striker Louis Saha also chipped in with two goals and Ruud insists their partnership could not be going better at the moment.

"We've scored six goals between us in two games which, for a new partnership, is quite good. It's now a matter of keeping it going and making sure we don't concede too many goals like we have done in the last two games," he added.

man, the setup that led to Saha's second goal was most excellent (again, this is coming from an ardent Arsenal fan)

he was offside but that doesn't take anything away from the setup....beautiful, delicate touch passes

and, and the first goal finish was very Ronaldo-esque by Saha, very delcious goal

I've said it once and I'll say it. The van Nistelrooy/Saha partnership will be the major downfall of our chances at getting that league title
