I don't understand how you think 65 millions for Zlatan was good. Zlatan was approx the same age as Eto'o and I am sure Eto'o would have done better than Zlatan that season. Zlatan did not meet expectations and was overpriced and flopped. I do not understand how he was worth 65 millions and I do not understand why Barcelona fans at that time thought it was reasonable.
Why are you guys still arguing about this? Eto'o himself wanted to leave, I think he had some problem with Guardiola, even during the season they won the treble. Yeah it was bad business for Barca, but Eto'o wouldn't have stayed no matter what. They should have gone for David Villa in the first place and sold Eto'o for peanuts, even if that's all it would have taken.

And you cannot say that he exactly flopped, okay maybe you can, I remember that season very well when they were playing against Inter needing a goal and Ibra was taken off for Bojan (who was still pretty good at that time). In conclusion Ibra is not exactly a big game player and it was a bad deal except for Inter who won the treble that season. Not because of Eto'o, but Mourinho and Sneijder's form. How he didn't win the ballon'dor that season is beyond me.

Cavani was in Napoli which is in... Serie A. Be careful.

Where would you put Cavani? I think Rooney should be striker and he is "undroppable" because he is captain. You get the best of him as lone striker. If we make Rooney our lone striker, we would have a good backup in van Persie. Hopefully Wilson will be good enough to be backup striker or at worse Fellaini as striker in periods of crisis. If you play with a lone striker, 3 strikers are good enough to have.,
Serie A or no Serie A that doesn't matter. Cavani is a proven striker who is good at what he does. Plus he is versatile which could be good, he can also play on both flanks, but I doubt he'd want to move somewhere to play out of position again.

Wilson is too young and hasn't proven shit yet. A loan to some EPL club would do him some good. I don't see him getting any playing time ahead of the strikers we have right now (or will be having next season). But yeah otherwise I agree with you, 3 strikers is enough, but consider RVP and Falcao out, we have to sign somebody and Cavani or Lacazette would be the perfect options in my opinion. Both very versatile and good.

Rooney is doing so well at the moment ... I don't see any reason to splash 80+ on another striker ...

All very true, but some backup is needed. And you never know about Di Maria, it's plausible that PSG want the guy and some kind of a deal involving Cavani could be made. He might have a lot of assists, but he hasn't exactly adjusted to EPL so well. But my biggest hope is that we sign Depay, the guy will be majestic that's for sure. Di Maria out and Depay + Cavani in and a proper centre back and the next EPL title will be ours! :P

The market was already crazy after Madrid paid 94 65 and 30 for Ronaldo, Kaka and Benzema. 65 mil for Zlatan after his best year seemed the right price. I still consider him the better player over Eto'o, and also the name that produces more money.

Well you have a long way to go until you reach ArnauSG's level, but at this rate you're going it can be manageable. :P I'd rather have Mikael Silvestre coming out of retirement and play for us than getting Rolando!

I still think 65 is a lot for him. I think 40 is reasonable. That was 5 years ago.

It's really no wonder why a cast off like Moyes can find success in a weak league like Spain. The tactical demands in the Premiership are just much higher.

In tactical terms EPL reminds me of children playing 7-a-side football in Spain. Attack-Counter all the time.
