I lost to NewCastle U in the CL and have tied a few times. I only lose 2-3 games in all competitions during the course of a season. My team is built to win.

I really don't understand how do you manage to get players such as Cech,Cissé or Van de Vaart so easily...
So I've just finished my second ML with Milan AC. I was 2nd in the group so I'm in the first division now. I've won twice the Carling Cup.

Maldini retired before I had even started the 1st ML... Crespo out and Charisteas in? Yes as Crespo was always playing really bad. After 6 Draws,just before the end of the first round I bought Charisteas and he scored 8 goals in 6 matches and guess what, most of them were headers...Landreau is so **** good.

Save before seeing if the transfer goes through. If it fails, exit and load your saved file. Keep trying until it's successful. It's not too hard.

I haven't used that trick, and I've got every player I've wanted to get. Though I haven't bought these star players. I think it's good thing that you can't get star players so easily.

On a rough general note - Players with salary...

... Less than 600 - Pay 50% more transfer fees and offer almost double the salary.

... Less than 900 && > 600 - Double transfer fees. Double salary.

... More than 900 - Go broke. Pay 3 times the transfer fees. 3 times the salary. Get yourself an UN-attached (without club) player with a salary of 1100 for 25,000 tranfer and 3,000 salary points. What a bloody RIP OFF eh!

Buy reborn classic players for contract. Save water, drink blood.

I have no idea if this happens to others, but every now and then I play a team that is almost (note the ALMOST) impossible to beat.

I find the 1st game of the season especially tough to beat no matter what team it is. Then there is that 1st game when you return from the first FA cup match...another 'tough' game.

I also had a champions league final against Valencia that was super tough because his goalie was like superman. He could do amazing saves and I had like 5 super good chances that he saved and I mean point blank headers, one - on - ones , thorugh passes that leaves the forward with a direct shot...Canizares saved them all. Went into a penalty shoot out and he saved 2 more and I lost. So pissed off I reloaded and the same thing happens with one slight difference in extra time. I noticed that the comp gives you one and only one chance somewhere in extra time that you just have to shoot in...and the way it gives you that extra chance is funny.... look at this replay....looks like Ronaldo has become the matrix. I have absolutely no idea how he's able to shake off 3 defenders, lets one steal it, then come from behind, 'zip' in from the side and nick in to steal it back...but I did [I suspect the AI did it] and scored.

WOW! They both seemed to have tripped on an invisible wire (which coincidentally is just good enough to trip someone but breaks soon thereafter).

Some goals just don't cut it. You get the hand-of-god feeling. You can see that the comp is letting you (or letting itself) score just because the comp feels like it.

Do you mean Chapi who is a CF with great stats and lots of special abilities?

I agonised over whether to buy him but I noticed he only has a 36 mentality and has 2 for consistency. How is he turning out for you ?

This reminds me - Do the special stats (not special abilities) like consistency, weak foot acc, condition etc. improve too? Doesn't seem like they do - after a game you can only see the normal stats improving.

Yeah, Rooney's condition is also pretty low (only 3). It'd be nice if those abilities would improve too, but I think they don't improve.

alot of stats do not go DOWN i know like stamina but im not sure about the 1s you said ominous if they improve or not i doubt it though,there is a faq at gamefaqs on developing players,worth a look

snowy im not sure what his exact name is chapi is probably right,yeah he is a winger with 5 special abilities and excellent crossing,pace and dribbling but terrible tolerance(c) and a few others,worth a punt though,you should check out yan's editpes4optionfile program as it has a database on all players including youth players,you can find loads of good 1s and then just find them using the search engine in game,sorta cheating but meh

i'm still impressed by how many goals i scored with rooney, in only 1 season including pre season matches and every competition matches, i scored 108 goals, playing ten minutes matches in 6 stars difficulty.

Another excellent player is messi, he is so great and is just 19, he keeps improving until 25, i don't imagine how good he will be by that time
