oh btw did anybody else see Wynalda's comments about Rome (H)

"Jim Rome can suck my d*ck!" (H) legendary

One of these days, some pissed off soccer fan will assassinate Jim Rome. However, since I value human life, I won't be the one that kills him.

Very much looking forward to this weekend. I feel like the start of the MLS season has come around really quickly...

So what is the latest concerning LA? have they officialy announced any new kit/colours/name? Checked their Wiki page but nothing there... you'd think they'd get their arse in gear the kick off being only a few days away.

Columbus look like a different team this year. Grabavoy played an excellent game today and Gaven looks like his old self again. Ngwenya is playing better than I've ever seen him. Very good midfield play by Columbus today, but they finish like Arsenal.

thank you for meaningfully posting the scoreline and nothing else, because none of us have any source of information to find out what the score was.

You really shouldn't be posting results here, not this soon after the game's taken place anyway. This isn't a (P+R) thread, hopefully you didn't ruin it for someone who taped it since that game was on late here in the east. :|

I hope it wasn't just because it is opening day byt i saw a whole lot of fans in the stand. Greast to see Toronto as well finally. Sad result for you lads back in Canada but hope it will be better in Toronto.

I watched the Colorado-DC game earlier in the day too and the stadium was pretty much full, despite being so friggin cold. Can't say I like Colorado's new stadium though, looks better in photos and the pre-construction renderings than it actually does on tv IMO..

Wait...what!!?!?1?!?! Am I reading this right? Shifty is giving the Crew respect?!?! Holy shit.

Just kidding, man. As a (half) season ticket-holder, I was at the game last night, despite the frigid/snowy conditions. I was warmed, however, by the Crew's much-improved second-half display. As for Ngwenya, I love him, but it's so damn frustrating to watch him glide right past a defender, get into the box...and then put his "finish" right into the keeper's ankles. If he can work on that, he can be a great player.

While I'm keeping my hopes tempered, I do think the Crew will be much better this season.

GO CREW :(

Was it as empty as it looked on tv or was the main stand full?

The main stand was fairly full. I don't know what they announced the attendance as, but I'd say there were about 11, maybe 12, thousand people there. It was fucking cold, and the wind never quit.

There's a chance that that number might actually be right. I was shivering too much to count everyone, to know for sure.

Houston - Galaxy 0-0 FT

16,404 showed up at Robertson Stadium, not bad but the MLS Cup Champions could of had more than that.

are MLS teams going to be changing kits half way through the season or something?

Anyway interesting first weekend... certainly hasn't flown out of the traps but good win for Colorado.

The Galaxy will have a brand new logo/uniforms when David Beckham plays his first game for them. Very gay.
