yea, figo's played well this world cup.

deco's had some tough luck though...he missed the first game b/c of injury, missed another game b/c of yellow cards and then another one b/c of a red card.

lampard was pretty bad.

and i expected more out of ruud as well.

ballack didn't play as well as he could, but i thought he was ok. he didn't look fit though. i heard an interesting stat on the radio: the two players who have taken the most shots (shots, not shots on goal) in this world cup are lampard and ballack. it's funny b/c ballack didn't even play the first game!

and zlatan was disappointing. i know he had a nagging injury as well, but even when he was fit, he didn't look good.

landon donovan certainly didn't show up.

as for toni, i didn't really expect much from him...he is a newbie in the international scene.

and as much as it pains me to say, park jisung didn't show up either.

Deco was truly bad against France, but he did a good job against Iran.
like Jedi said, he was more unlucky than disappoiting.

People are only saying Ronaldinho because he set such high standards during the season, but it would've been hard to match it. Especially considering how long his season was. For me Lampard was the most disappointing, he was truly shocking. I mean, really shocking.

Without Makele doing all the hard work for him , I think he was found out, he's slow, can't tackle, can't pass , the only he usually does well is shoot and take penalties but he couldn't even do these. Ronaldo got a lot a criticism for being overweight, I think Lampard deserved just as much he definately wasn't at peak fitness.

Lampard for me, and then Ronaldinho and maybe Ballack.

I love Ronadinho to pieces, but he definitely disappointed. I kept waiting for him to pull his shenanigans, but it showed very little.

I was also disappointed with Messi..... not that he played poorly, just that the coach didn't put him in. He was supposed to be the player to watch in this world cup and we were robbed of that.

He had one bad tournament and now he is ****? He was superb at Euro, so that proves it has nothing to do with Makelele, as does Lampard pretty much steering England to Germany through qualifying.

Its a shame that the standard people use for players when they have a good tournament (oh he is a superstar etc) doesnt last on when people realise they are average players, and most people discard it, however is a top player has a bad tournament, they are considered ****. Its such a double standard.

How can you be disappointed with him if he didn't get to play. It's the coach's fault.

I was disappointed with Lampard. He brought the wrong boots to the World Cup and also didn't form a good partnership with Gerrard.

and i also think that ibrahimovicis overrated and it wasn't a surprise hthat he didn't play well because he sucks, this could be the tournament where everyone notices how bAd he is, oh yeah, luca toni was a huge disappointment a s well
