Newcastle United Thread [2005-2006]

Talk about getting out of jail.

Simply not good enough, injuries aside we should be beating teams like Fulham at home if we have any aspiration to finish in the top half of the table.

Quiet debut from Owen but he didn't really get any service.

The noose continues to tighten on Souness' neck.

who's injuried -Taylor, Luque, Emre, Dyer ?
Parker prob will get away with a 1 match ban
at least Solando should be able to play after his suspension was reduced to 1.

Owen/Shearer will rely a lot on those above mentioned players, basicly it's the whole midfield...which should provide the service

at least they scored a goal.

Seeing how Fulham is one of the poorer sides or at least will be at the end, this result wasn't good. Also Newcastle couldn't really control the game at all so I'm dissapointed. The defence is in shambles.

well hey, shamble and bramble rhyme.... its no coincidence....

not much u can do when u have no midfield, i mean ur missing the likes of luque dyer emre solano, thats practically ur starters... and then parker is now missing, oh well ey, away to rovers, kinda game we could just win 3-0 or sumthing or lose 4-1... or 4-0, its hard to say if we would even manage a consolation these days...

taylor just slid into the post, and got a dead leg... so he'll b right for next week surely... just a corked thigh... yes solano is back for rovers... thank god... if solano was still suspended our midfield 4 would b N'Zogbia, Faye, Clarke, Bowyer.... now thats a first string midfield if i eva saw one :nape:
compared to our injured/suspended midfield of Luque Emre Parker Dyer....

how long are those out ?

Luque = up to 6 weeks
Emre = ?
Dyer = ?
Parker = 1 game I asume

Good to hear that Taylor will be back shortly, he impressed me very much vs ManUtd and for the England U21, he looks a bit like the Tony Adams-type of player :rockman:

btw next sunday it's gonna be very "footie"
first it's Liverpool-ManUtd, followed by Blackburn-Newcastle, then Espanyol-RealMadrid and rounded up with Atletico Madrid-Barcelona. :hump:

for u perhaps... iunno how long the others, with dyer there neva really seems to b an estimation, he just appears in matchday squads... emre iunno, probly a few weeks... parker yeh one match, hmmm.... i think that solano will b a big enuf lift to get us the points at blackburn tho, bout to watch them play bolton so ill give another view afta i watch that...

It gets worse:

Luque's hamstring injury is worse than originally thought, they reckon 8-10 weeks now :nape: http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~713046,00.html

It's clear Souness is taking risks on players not being fully fit, Emre, Dyer, Luque, none of them were 100% fit yet he‘s so desperate to save his neck, he's more than willing to play unfit players and risk their long term fitness. I've just about had enough of the jock bastard.

A loss against Blackburn will be the final straw for Shepherd.

SOUNESS OUT

That a big blow with Luque out so long. Didn't Solano play LW or could NUFC recall Milner from his loan ?

Youth Team
n'zogbia will play left midfield, he made about 17 starts there last season, he was impressive considering the circumstances last season...

also, luque suffered a calf injury while on int duty for spain, he was passed fit for the fulham game, and then did his hammy... not really to do with his playing while not fully fit, more bad luck and a coincidence?

but all 3 of em have done their hammy's now.... its resulted in souness moving training from their number 1 training ground to sumwhere else, cos apparently the new training facilities have astroturf and stuff, and are too hard... or so ive read

More bad news:

Nobby's out for the Blackburn game with a thigh injury :nape:

Souness names 17-man squad:
Ameobi, Babayaro, Boumsong, Bowyer, Bramble, Brittain, Carr, Clark, Elliott, Faye, Given, Harper, N'Zogbia, Owen, Ramage, Shearer, Taylor.

I expect we'll see Carr on the right of midfield again, Faye and Bowyer center with N'Zogbia on the left. Unless he plays his silly 4-3-3 like at times last season.

This doesn't bode well against a physical team like Blackburn.

Expect the worst
