Nk Football ©: Fifa 06 ™ “gameplay Update”

Thats very true, I've drawn many red cards being up a goal or two. Then if you spring someone for another chance they viciously tackle you.

If you don't maintain possession and work it around a la real football, then there are no instances for being tackled. I am fouled quite bit using the pace control and the right stick for juking defenders.

Hey NK, did you alter the ground passes at all?

Passes have changed yes, not dramatically though. Why?

I just has a few troubles threading longer passes across the box such as with a two man rush on the goalie. Before, I would use the through ball since it has more pace than a regular pass, but the through ball seems harder to direct and weaker and usually just goes to the goalie. I have tried to instead start using the double tap low cross but its hard to break old habits. I'd just wondered how much you had "doctor'd" the ground passes/through balls.

Hi Dave,

This is good feedback! I know the update makes the passing game harder, but I hope to keep the game playable. I will look into this.
Thanks,
NK.

It's about time I scored a great goal, it's just a shame I got hammered!!! Legendary difficulty sure is for the better players'. 4-0, great goals scored against me, but I managed to set-up some nice play and score a lovely goal with Owen inside the box that just floated up and dipped down into the bottom corner. I had cracked so many shots at goal, then again so had the CPU ,but they were better than me when it came to shooting on target!! This game favours very good CPU shooting accuracy, because the human goalkeeper is much, MUCH better than ever before, in fact, CPU and human goalies are uses my new 'perfect balancing', which although has already been put into use with other updates out there and other gamers, I have tuned it all up to play at its best!! Well, the best I get it for now until the next update that is ;)

Check out the results,
NK.

No, you should not significantly alter your gameplay in regards to the defense. The way you play is what generates free kicks and penalties. If you aren't generating enough fouls, free kicks etc. its because you don't build up and move the ball around in the attacking zone. If you work it around for better scoring opportunites you will get fouled and generate free kicks and penalties. Especially when manuevering with first touch skill around defenders.

Dave

I think it's more that 50-60% of fouls turn out to be yellow cards, there should be a higher ration of fouls to yellow cards.

I agree with exerslow about the long passes.

Also i often see the computer team pull off remarkable goals, such as really long goals, which it would be impossible for me to do, this gets a bit annoying.

Finally, i've noticed the ball tends to hit the post and crossbar a bit too much, particually from long shots and free kicks.

Thanks for the feedback :) I will work on the areas you mention for the upcoming update!

I have now tuned the passing much better and have taken a bit of weight off the ball as to slow the game down slightly. The ball physics in terms of speed and power are similar to version 2, but the ball gravity itself and the way the ball behaves when 'falling' is much more like version 3 (latest version available to download :) ). This is actually a very good combination.

I have tried the patch and I love the difficulty of the gameplay. I had the most exciting game when I was Bolton playing Manchester City. I was losing 1-0 and came back to win 2-1. Great gameplay although I still don't know what is the correct way to header. I yet to see the computer or I score from a header. They all go over the post. I seem to be more accurate when I press the pass button to header. Is this the right way, or do I just suck? lol. Oh, and since your game changes the languages at the beginning, it removes my mexican commentaries. So I have to go back to the config.dat, which is no big but annoyin to do. It crashed my game a midway though but I think it's a patch I installed rather than the language selected. Anyway, great patch man. :rockman:

Nk i have tried ur latest gameplay since 3-4 days and i think ur patch blows......
Thats right it blows away all other competitors :rockman: ur patch is by far the best of the lot.I have played with ur patch for an entire CL tournament and i have come up with a few suggestions.

Few things i feel have to be improved are.GK's should be more aggresive and should come out more.right now the lob shot is useless in fifa cos the gk rarely comes out. Also the gk throwing and kicking has to be improved somewhat. The kicked ball goes very high although the distance it covers has improved from previous version. and the gk throws the ball too far imo.

The lobbed ball should cover a bit more distance and and the ball speed in the XZ dir should be slightly decresed .but i can live with that.
One more thing i dunno if its possible but i would like tha ball to remain at my players feet a little bit more,as soon as the cpu touches my player it gets the ball, this hampers the build up and waiting play all we can do is put a string of quick passes to avoid being caught by the insanely alert cpu.
And one more thing b4 i forget is it possible to tone down the speed of thru pass ,when i do a thru pass it strikes the player to whom i pass at a very high speed, not always though i think its more of fifa's fault than urs.

NK your patch is a great one, yet I believe that it needs lots of "Team Work" with other poeple, I mean other poeple such as me and the other fine Fifa 06 players, let me tell you what do I mean and why.

First of all we are here at a community that encourage us into creating or modifying files for and from fifa 06, which is illegal on its own. If you think that it's legal then its only because you want it to be legal, which is not a problem at all, because to say the truth, the EA team is doing a great job but unfortionatly incomplete good work.

I've noticed from several posts by you that for some weird reason you get annoyed from the fact that people are editing the files that you only Modified ("Modified" not "Create" or "invent"), which I find unethical in whatever side you take this subject from.

I, for example, worked a lot in modifying the Fifa 06 gameplay files, and I also used many of the stuff you suggested in your modifications, so I can simply publish my files under one installation patch that I call my patch, knowing the fact that I copied some of your illegal modified stuff that EA company only has the right to change and publish.

My point is that I want you to be a little bit more mature about the fact of people editing these files then attaching them on the web under there names, that's an accepted act from them as we are here all in one Fifa 06 community.

So, NK, no need to get pissed the next time I post my own gameplay patch which I took many of it's ideas from your modification, and of course I'll add credits for your hard work, and you should also know that I and many others are working maybe more than you to make this game a better one everyday.

Peace man, and keep up the good work that will inspire us all into modifying the Fifa 06 gameplay to the highest levels.

Yes, we all work in a community. I just hope there is more respect with the time people take on modifying or creating update/patches of all kinds both of the gameplay and graphical nature. If people take other people's kits, they flip out and everyone hates that guy who said it was his work. I call it an 'update' because it updates the gameplay, I have NEVER called it a patch or a 'fix', nor is it a correction, it is my personal balance of the gameplay and it takes plenty of time to find this balance.

People just shouldn't copy what has spent me over a month, change 2 values and stick their name on it. It sure doesn't take them a good few weeks and I bet it doesn't take long for them to type their name on the file either! Crediting someone's kits, or gameplay update, or stadium or whatever is fine. If someone had explained then yeah, I could probably feel happy that they love my gameplay so much and feel they couldn't do any better...it's a compliment to be fair.

anyways, I'm sick of all this talk...if people want to copy, then copy. As long as the community know who put the hours in. Respect!
Peace, (H)
NK.

There shall be no talk of fixing anything lol. You may find your own balance using my values :p

My 4th update will play a bit differently to my 3rd update.

I'm just curious NK. How are you doing with the 4th update? Can you predict any release date yet? :)

It won't be too long now, but I keep finding new ways of improving the game and it is much fun doing so! The game just keeps getting better, I just hope people realise that my update is the no#1, so many hours, days, weeks go into finding this balance! But I am afraid I have no release date confirmed.
But it will most likely be on a Friday.

I have slowed down the game once more, regardless of the 'game speed' variable. It's playing even better now. Wow, so many hours in this, i thought the 4th update wouldn't take long!! Haha, well hard work pays off for me and the community I guess. i suppose i'm giving a little something to you guys, plus peeps that want to see the changes i'm making for their updates.
should work out. Taking a long time though, I am the gameplay update source hahaha ah well, expect the 4th update to be better than the 3rd.

My 4th update is going to stand out! It's difficult, yet balanced. One key area that I am proud of is that since FIFA 2002 up to 2006, I have always worked on these updates myself. I have had testers in 2002 to give me feedback on beta's, etc but I have always done the work in my own time. I find it pretty cool that others are looking at what I'm doing to make their own updates. The 4th update will stand out yet again.

Check out these match results. Shooting is harder, this match was played on Lenendary, which is the reason for very good CPU shot accuracy. Each of their goals was creative, I tried to defend but alas...I wasn't good enough.
You'll also notice a difference in player advantages in terms of speed, etc. IF your striker is faster than the defenders then so it will be!
NK.
