6.6 is full of problems, especially defensive. The final WE5 will reduce your chances on goal and hold you off attack more often.

If you're that good, you'll still score goals. But not as many.

Still tuning up the goalkeeper.

i'll tell you guys it's a real bitch right now. Trying to get the most out of it before release.

Going back and forth with idea's. A real drag, but an interesting one.

I've found out a way of getting the cpu to stay back at their best. Rather than just hang back, actually mark up also. But then I keep going back and forth testing what idea's work the best to get the maximum challenge to break them. I'm almost there, so close!

I don't think FIFA 07 will ever truly be seriously challenging. There are many ways to score. It's a shame. But I have made great progress

I'll try and release it soon, it might take longer to get up and running over at the new Sweetpatch.tv site as I am behind on that (shamefully) and the update is really damn good!

I have tested keyboard and everything is cleared. No errors. Shooting is certainly right and in there and balanced. You can score plenty of goals. I did this in practice mode as I couldn't get a look in on goal in a real match using keyboard, it's hard enough with a game-pad!

Anyone wanting a realistic challenge will love WE5. It's not a crazy rush for the ball either, what makes it so much more challenging and believable is that the defenders actually stay on your man and stay back and defend. Before, once you had the ball they'd all pretty much push forward up the field to get possession back, but all that did is leave open spaces. Even EA themselves got it all wrong in my opinion. in fact I'll go as far as saying that the original gameplay is BACKWARDS! They seem to put in values on World Class and legendary that make the game easier. I think this is because they didn't want the gameplay to be too difficult and in some cases, the original EA amateur level would be better at defending as to balance out the fact they can't attack or have real GK skills on original amateur. All that is gone.

Now, World Class is pure challenge and realism. If you score, good for you!!!! Seriously. lol.

I am talking to everyone by the way, not just SSJ personally. Scoring is very much a challenge. And to do so is much more rewarding. Because the game around you tells you they want to win. So beating a cpu that wants to crush you is pretty sweet! You can score some great scorchers. I had a shot with lampard earlier today that bent outside-curl and right in the top corner. The cpu just couldn't respond and I won the 20 min match 1-0. Brilliant game.

I had a match v France on world class as England and drew 0-0. I had 5 shots, 0 on and their shooting was unlucky, too close. They just kept on getting real close calls. My keeper kept out the ones that hit the target. but i played the start of the same match moments before and they went up 2-0 with two Henry power shots, so goes to show the diversity in the shooting.

This is the reaosn you should always play more than 1 game before giving feedback.


If I release the update later today, things will have to move on quickly. I'll have to contact Sweetpatch.tv.

World Evolution 5 will be officially and exclusively made public and downloadable at Sweetpatch.tv. A full link will be given to check out the new site once it's up and ready.

You'll have WE5 early next week. Sorry for the delays. Trust me, it is worth the wait.

As my friend told me who has just played roughly 3 created knock-out tournaments using the latest build 2 v cpu "this is the best gameplay ever!". He said the game outplayed the 360 version by far, the only downside is it doesn't have the next-gen graphics nor animations. But hey, if it plays the better game (and I agree since I own the 360 version), that's what counts.

We couldn't beat Brazil on world class. We kept losing 2-0 or 2-1. Real harsh. All our chances were long-range efforts since every cross was marked and we couldn't get 1v1. Brazil really outplayed us. But we trashed Croatia 3-0, beautiful, realistic goals. Very believable win. (1/4 final).

I know I made WE5, but I'm enjoying it very much myself. Can't wait to finish it and get you guys playing!

Well I gave it the full test-run mate and I seriously didn't find any conflicts in this area.

I will be checking the feedback to make sure it works for you too. I scored some wicked goals in practice mode using keyboard, so if you're a pro on it then I am positive you'll have no problems. The error in shooting comes more from defenders blocking and pressing you to miss.

The main trick to WE5 is getting the AI to sit back in defence and mark up for long periods of time. It truly reduces the chances on goal for both sides and piles on the pressure to score the winner.

for me WE5beta6.5 is already great but sometimes the ball seems to be too fast and my players just can't catch it i like how cpu players are now do more building up the attacking instead of just their defenders do lob passes to their strikers. here's a screenshot where gilardino is surrounding by 3 liverpool's defenders. wow! they play like the real liverpool now!

The physics are worked so it is possible yes. but much harder to do. I have played some great air-balls, but making use of them is so much harder now that the cpu have a defence that stay back and catch up and protect goal.

A lot of adventerous air-balls will go out, as in real life not many long balls played in defence are going to give a player 1v1 and a goal.

The ball physics are slower also.

fireballthunder; Thanks mate. Beta6.5 is easy compared to trying to get a decent shot in now. Seriously, WE5 will be a challenging one. Realistically though, which is a great feeling.

Goalkeepers have much faster reactions uses logical values to calculate their saves rather than what should 'technically' make them save better, testing and tuning has given the goalkeepers the ability to save some amazing shots.

And the best bit is, you can knock one in the top corner first touch and it looks so real!!!

Buddy in free kicks i have usually noted that the ball hits the keeper's hand when he tries to save the ball and it goes in for a goal.So can you make it such that it goes to the side or he hits it over the goal for a corner?

well Ive played the last released beta you posted on the forums, and it plays well. a few problems, still too easy to get by the defenders, also even their front attackers rush me too much, leaving them too open to attacks. Also, its too easy to get in behind their last defenders who are also too aggressive. The man marking is awful, especially my own players. I was up 4-1 with 30 mins to go, and my teams defenders decided to watch while they put in 2 perfect crosses to their attackers who got 2 goals off really really weak and slow headers to which my goalie seemed clueless.

Its annoying to work so hard to get a shutout, but to never be able to do it, because my defenders just play stupid. also its too easy to get more than 1 or 2 goals in a game because i can just continue to get in behind the defenders with my attacker just by dribbling straight at them with a few quick turns.

also please please give the goalies a huge boost in their kicks, they barely go over the center half line

Don't worry, all will be tuned! GK kicks depend on how far your attack is up the pitch. Wait a moment then kick the ball. I can increase it a bit though.

Even after letting my forward get up pitch more & using the shoot button my GK can barely kick it past the other edge of the center circle....just not realistic IMO.

At the very least see if you can add 5 yards, and maybe slow down the ball physics on goalkicks to reduce the feeling of a ping pong effect.

Can't wait to try WE5 mate.
