Quarters:

Spain v/s England( entertaining game but England will have enough to edge out the Spanish / Real Madrid attack)

Portugal v/s France( the hosts will be left shell shocked...they will be torn apart to say the least in the first half and will come out screaming in second half ony to come up short )

Italy v/s Germany(they have too much pride to end up missing the knock out stages)

The Netherlands v/s Sweden ( Larsson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic versus the Dutch machine? Clear choice is the Dutch.........EASILY )

Semis:

England v/s Italy ( With both teams lacking the important defensive player....Rio Ferdinand and Paolo Maldini....so it will come down to the more creative midfield....Tottii will be unable to handle Beckham and Gerard..... England will be playing for the result more than Italy)

France v/s The Netherlands (.....good offensive game....INFACT IT WILL BE the best game of the year ahead of England v/s France from the group stage and Brazil v/s France the friendly as part the FIFA centenary celebrations)

Final:

England v/s France

In the rematch of the group game, the French will once again go in as monster favourites the way that Brazil went into the 1998 FINAL against the French. Folks will be talking about how Thierry Henry is goina rip through the English defence and how Zidane will lay to rest doubts that he is NOT Europe' s best footballer EVER....one of those people who feel that way is me...... but this time the tables will be turned on the French as David Beckham will have the game of his life leading England to a famous VICTORY 2 - 1 or 3 - 1 !

The German team will be announced next monday, but that scumbag Carsten Ramelow won't be in there for sure. He's resigned from international football.

Why do I get the feeling that Adidas Roteiro is going to ruin Euro 2004? :S

I watched the Portugal v Sweden friendly, Sweden v England friendly, and most recently the UEFA Cup final. That ball is just terrible. :kader:

The new Nike Geo is even worst. It looks like a baloon. It was used in the portuguese cup final and the players hated it. Why the sporting marks are all making light balls?

Ah, the only reason why Raul is OUT OF FORM is because the guy who plays along side him at Real Madrid is IN FORM....Ronaldo does not set up anyone which is unlike Morientes. Raul will not be out of form at the tournament but will continue to struggle at Real so long as Ronaldo stays there. There is no point in anyone saying that Raul is not goina show up for EURO 2004 cause he IS !

Nuno Gomes Q&A with Euro2004.com

euro2004.com: Which team do you think will win UEFA EURO 2004™?

Nuno Gomes: France and Italy are very strong sides, with great individual players. We played against Italy recently and they gave us many problems, and they play very well together as a team. On the other hand, France are a skilful side and they want to prove to the world that the last FIFA World Cup [when they were knocked out at the Group stage] was an aberration. Besides these two teams, I have to say that Portugal are favourites too because we are playing at home with the support of all our people.

euro2004.com: Which team do you think will spring the biggest surprise at the tournament and why?

Nuno Gomes: Maybe Croatia because they had a difficult task getting through to the finals with a [2-1 aggregate play-off] win against Slovenia and they are motivated after that historic win. They play excellent football and they have great individual players like my Benfica team-mate Tomo Šokota. They are very well organised and they have a great footballing tradition.

euro2004.com: Which player do you think will be the star at the final tournament and why?

Nuno Gomes: I think Luís Figo has great chances to become the main star of the tournament because he is a great player, and he will be playing at home where he is a national hero.

euro2004.com: Are there any players who are not so well-known that you think could make their name at EURO 2004™?

Nuno Gomes: I think Cristiano Ronaldo could become the great revelation of EURO 2004™. He has been playing very well at Manchester United [FC] and is a young player with great individual skills. He has an enormous appetite for winning and has terrific ball control. Besides that, he enjoys every match he plays.

euro2004.com: What is your most memorable moment from past UEFA European Championships?

Nuno Gomes: Definitely the goal I scored against France in the last European Championship. It was a magical, inspirational moment, but unfortunately Portugal lost the game in the dying minutes and we missed the final.

euro2004.com: What would be considered a good performance for Portugal at EURO 2004™?

Nuno Gomes: To become European champions. It would be a great honour in front of our people. It would be a great moment of joy for all the Portuguese people and the greatest team and personal achievement of our lives.

Some national team coaches dont make sense. Mista has been scoring all season long, but has never been even called up for a friendly, let alone the Euros. Reyes' exclusion was justified, they have better options at the moment.

Whats with Eriksson announcing the players on standby, like he did at WC?

Here's my prediction:

Holland will win with ease in the group finish first
Holland will win the quarter finals
Holland will win the semi finals
Holland will win the finals
Holland will be european champions(finally!)

ok now more serious I think France will smack our silly team to hell(with seedorf and de Boer missing penalty's in normal play time) Henry sneaks in from a pass of Zidane and curves the ball in the upper corner and leaves van der Sar crying on the pitch
