With the difference that Etoo is a striker and couldnt be a starter cause weve got Ronaldo, and Robinho isnt a striker and its what we need.

I'd take Eto'o over any striker at Real Madrid

I already posted my opinion on this at the spanish forum and now that I'm not lazy I'll try to translate it.

As some of us know, Real Madrid offered 25M euros to buy Robinho, which represents 60% of Robinho's release clause value. We also know that Robinho's federative rights belong 60% to Santos and 40% to himself.

However, the transfer wasn't possible. Why?
Well, because we're talking about "braking" a contract, not a transfer. If it was a transfer, Robinho could decide whether (sp?) to get or not to get the 40% of the amount, but since it's a release, he can't say (like he did) that he accepts to get nothing out of it, because he has no right even to a dime of that clause, since it's a "penalty", a fine. I mean, Real Madrid wanting to pay 60% of the amount won't solve the problem, since that amount belongs 100% to Santos in this case.
The situation can get worse, because Robinho hasn't showed up to the training ground in spite of the fact that he's still getting paid. Real Madrid wants to go to the FIFA to solve this, but it won't have any effect because Santos isn't obligated to sell him, but only to accept the whole release clause value, besides of the fact that they are respecting their part of the deal.

Robinho said that Santos' chairman promissed him he would accept a proposal from Real Madrid. Unfortunately for him, it won't be taken into consideration since it's not expressed in the contract. If it's not written, it's the same as never saying it. The right thing to do was:
1) Demand in the contract a clause that would force the club to accept proposals from foreign teams (very common in Brazil);
2) Not signing a contract until 2008 if he wasn't intending to stay that long in the team. He knew about Real Madrid's interest when he signed it, then sign a 1 year deal.
Robinho said he wants to leave because it's not safe to stay in Brazil. He must know that's not an acceptable reason for the FIFA not to deny the release, no matter how strong that reason is, simply because you can't brake a contract for that. If so, nobody would play for the big teams in Brazil, which are in big cities with their violence levels (some more than others).

That's why I believe Robinho only leaves if Real Madrid pays the whole release clause (50M dollars), simply because his points aren't good enough. That's my point of view, I hope I made myself clear.

How big is YOUR penis?
Let`s just say he goes to Madrid, how would you Madrid fans would put him ? If it`s goin` to be Raul or him starting, who would you prefer ? Your simbolic captain or your big investment ? Don`t say you`ll play with 3 forwards upfront ( Raul, Robinho and Ronaldo ), cos` I just don`t think the system won`t work for Madrid. 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 is not the best system when you got a fragile defense and a lack of defensive midfielder.

did you watch any of our games in the second half of the season? :nape:

Yeah, I watch them all...

If you watched any of our games anytime last season, you'd know Eto'o deserves to start in any team. Eto'o outclassed every damn one of your shiny little stars last season.

WTF are you talking about. He was the second leading scorerer for the team last season. He also started almost every game in the second half of the season. Check your facts.
