Official thread of Liga Argentina: Clausura [2005-2006].

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
Well here we are the Clausura starts the coming friday.

The first matchday

Friday 27/1
Vélez Sarsfield vs. San Lorenzo
Estudiantes LP vs. Insituto Cba.

Saturday 28/1
Olimpo B.B. vs. Rosario Central
Arsenal FC vs. Argentinos Juniors
Colón Sta. Fe vs. Gimnasia LP
Newell's Old Boys vs. Quilmes AC
Banfield vs. Racing Club

Sunday 29/1
Gimnasia J. vs. Boca Juniors
Independiente vs. Lanús
Tiro Federal vs. River Plate

AVERAGE TABLE!:junior:

1- Boca Juniors 1.715
2- Vélez Sarsfield 1.673
3- River Plate 1.621
4- Banfield 1.589
5- San Lorenzo 1.484
6- Estudiantes LP 1.4
7- Racing Club 1.4
8- Arsenal FC 1.378
9- Newell's Old Boys 1.378
10- Gimnasia LP 1.357
11- Colón Sta. Fe 1.347
12- Rosario Central 1.336
13- Independiente 1.315
14- Quilmes AC 1.294
15- Lanús 1.252
16- Argentinos Juniors 1.245
17- Olimpo B.B. 1.105 <--- Play-off.
18- Instituto Cba. 1 <--- Play-off.
19- Gimnasia J. 0.947 <--- Relegation.
20- Tiro Federal 0.789 <--- Relegation.

For those who don't get this, the matter is dividing the amount of points by the amount of matches in the last 2 seasons and the current one.
For example Banfield in 03/04, got 64 points in the 38 matches, in 04/05 got 59 points in the 38 matches, and so far in 05/06 they got 28 in the 19 matches. So you have 151 points in 95 matches, so 151/95 = 1.589. Some teams have it more complicated because they weren't for 3 or more seasons in the first division yet, for example Instituto Cba., this is their second season in first division for the average table, since in 03/04 they were in the second division. The ones that end in this table 19th and 20th get directly relegated to the second division, the 17th and the 18th will play a 2 legs match with a team of the second division.

In my opinion i see Tiro Federal, and Instituto getting relegated and Lanús playing play-off and getting saved, and Gimnasia J. playing the play-off and may get safe too.

When will the classics be played?

Matchday 4 - 12/2: Gimnasia LP vs. Estudiantes LP.

Matchday 6 - 26/2: Racing Club vs. Independiente(6).

Matchday 11 - 26/3: Boca Juniors vs. River Plate.

Matchday 13 - 2/4: Rosario Central vs. Newell's Old Boys.

Yeah...!!!

Very good work, Diablo...

My first post is the possible starting line up of River in the first games:

This was saw today in the training...

Carrizo
(Lux absent becouse his brother died, not Javier, other brother)

Ferrari Talamonti Caceres Dominguez

Pusineri San Martin Zapata

Gallardo

Figueroa :rockman: Farias

Starting XI
I see, that's from the friendly between River Plate and Defensores de Belgrano(a team that is on the third division now). though i've heard that Figueroa wasn't a starter, when he entered Defensores just scored 1 goal then Figueroa scored for River and then a youth player made the second goal for them. They said both Figueroa and Farias played well.

Vélez drew 0-0 in a friendly against Atlanta(another 3rd division club) It seems Vélez played good but didn't do too much effort for scoring.

Argentinos Juniors drew 1-1 with Independiente Santa Fe de Bogota(colombia team), and they shown their 2 new players.

Tonight, Boca Juniors vs. San Lorenzo and Colón Sta. Fe vs. Newell's Old Boys will be other friendlies.

More likely this will be the lineup of Independiente.

-------------Ustari
-
-------Abraham---Caceres(c)
---Pautasso------------E. Dominguez
-
--------Herrón--------Biglia
---Machín---------------Armenteros
-
----Bustos Montoya------Agüero

More likely this will be the bench: Leyenda, L. Alvarez, Carrizo, Fabro and Caggiano/Miranda.

Against Lanús, Pautasso wouldn't be able to play because he got a red card in the last match of the Apertura, so i bet Alvarez will play on his place and Mendez will more likely be on the bench.

In the match against Boca, though they said Silvestre was the man of the match:boohoo:, and that the best of Independiente, in my opinion the man of the match was Machin, they couldn't stop him, nor take the ball from him, he was the nightmare of Krupoviesa and Diaz, he made an excellent combination with Pautasso on the right side.:rockman:

Fernando Gago very young and talented midfielder ive heard many people say he is a Dm i see him more of a Cm who is very tactical and organizes the midfield pretty good, They compare him to Redondo ( very far from it right now but has all the potential to be their.) I would say his downfall for now is his size, i would like to see him mature pysically before moving to europe.

Thats my opinion would like to see what others think. :jambo:

If this is so than (Y). BTW what are the papers in Argentina saying about his transfer?? So far i have read he would perfer a move to Spain and to us instead of Barca or Chelsea.

yeah, there were some news in argentinian newspapers saying that Real Madrid are very interested in Gago and it seems he'll end up there, however Boca are not willing to sell him right now and he seems quite happy playing for Boca. A similar case is happening with Palacio of Boca and Aguero of Independiente, big european clubs are after them.

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
New offer of Villarreal for Agüero, 20m€ for 50% of the transfter the rest would be payed later, this could be a probable thing, because Falcioni seems to be interested in Arruabarrena. Although they are trying to keep Agüero as much as they can, plus he wants to stay as long as he can.

The papers in Argentina love to talk about the new talents and their probably tranfers to big europeans clubs...but they end in Russia... :kader:

When Mascherano appeared they said the same thing...

IMO, as a defensive midfielder, Battaglia is much better...if you put only Gago as a DM you will have a lot of problems in defense...the same happend with Cambiasso in our NT, he cant stop sh*t if he is alone in the midfield...

I prefer the style of Mascherano, Battaglia, Almeyda and Simeone as a DM instead of the Gago, Cambiasso and Redondo style...

If you play with two DM thats different, you put a Mascherano and a Cambiasso in the midfield you have great defensive skills and great passing skills...

If you ask me, i think Mascherano owns the midfield when he play, but im a River fan and i've seen amazing things of Masche...

Talking about DM, River has a new kid, Nicolas Domingo...heard good things about this kid...

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
More likely, know don't see Russia with good eyes anymore, after Clemente Rodríguez, Bracamonte, Cavenaghi then there were other 2 cases, Pusineri and Osmas Ferreyra, who basically got wasted there like the all others but they returned and more likely they are better now. Maybe Racing's youth Torres is still thinking on Dynamo Kyiv.:funny:

Tomorrow, in the summer friendlies, the second most important super classic, Independinete vs. Racing Club. Independiente will go with all the starting players again and Racing.... well they will try to see what happens.:funny:

Hey axolote, what do you think of Toja so far?

He showed some skill with the ball...very good passing and good headers...he should pass the ball a little more...

I think he has a lot of future in River...he reminds me of Sergio ''La Bruja'' Berti...

I just read that Passarella made some changes in the team in todays training...

Carrizo
Ferrari Caceres Gerlo Mareque
Santana Ahumada
Patiño Gallardo
Montenegro Farias

I've seen him like twice is the current tournament, but obviously not enough to form my own opinion. Thanx for the info, lets hope he's a great player. :jap:

Here are my predictions the Clausura...

Winner: Independiente
They have Aguero, Ustari and Biglia and a intelligent/defensive Coach like Falcioni. Plus they dont play the Libertadores.

Revelation: Estudiantes LP
Very good base team and they did the best transfers IMO, Comingues, Nuñes, Esmerado and Galvan. Adding these players to Sosa, Carrusca, Pavone and Calderon makes a good team.

Dissapoinment: Racing of course, bad coach, bad team, bad tranfers.

Players:

Star: Aguero, of course, the best player that appeared since Tevez and Cavenaghi.

Revelation: Cominges. I see him doing a great Clausura.

Dissapoinment: Insua. Just becouse he have a big mouth and have a freezer in his chest.

How do you guys rate Cominges in Argentina i really havent had to chance to see him last season(didnt catch to many colon games) i love his style but he always finds a way to disappear when he plays in la selecion. I hope he can prove himself in Estudiantes.

I think he have a lot of class. He didnt had a good last season, but he have the class to make it better this season...

IMO the entire Peru NT dissapear in difficult matches, they have class but lack of spirit, besides the Peru newspapper loves to talk sh*t about their players...

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
Comingues in Estudiantes seems to be doing good so far. Although both Vélez and Estudiantes will be playing the Libertadores too, i guess we'll see them fighting near the top once again, and these both teams are the main ones that are starting the "let's not sell players to the other clubs of the first division".

Independinete may not be filled with superstars but there's good players, for example there are some of the players that won the last U20 world cup, Ustari, Abraham, Biglia, Armenteros, Agüero and then there's Fabro who almost made it to the world cup. plus, the experience of Caceres and Carrizo, the skill of Machin and Bustos Montoya, i guess we'll be on the top again.(6)

I'm seeing Newell's Old Boys like a dissapointment too, they hardly got any new player and instead it seems like they are getting rid of them, they will also have to play the Libertadores, i don't see them getting along with both tournaments. A pity for Pumpido.(:/)

Also got to see what does this "new" River do tomorrow against Oriente Petrolero. I've heard they were about to sign Olave.:o

A little update on Independiente's line-up for the sunday:

-------------Ustari
-
------Abraham-----Caceres
---Mendez------------L. Alvarez
-
------Herrón/Carrizo----Biglia
---Machin----------------Armenteros
-
-------Agüero--------Bustos Montoya

Being this the main starting 11:

--------------Ustari
-
-------Abraham-----Caceres
---Pautasso------------E. Dominguez
-
----------Carrizo----Biglia
----Machin---------------Armenteros
-
------Agüero--------Bustos Montoya

Although it would seem a 4-4-2 Armenteros moves in front and turns into like a Attacking Midfielder like if it was a 4-3-1-2.:o

Man do even get me started with the peruvian newspaper, a couple days ago they wrote Cominges was the man of the match assisting two goals, so logically i go to el OLe to confirm not one word on Cominges. :kader:

Olé, must be more busy about Bignone singing with Boca, than how are the other teams doing in the pre-season matches.:boohoo:

But yes, Comingues, played good against Independiente subs, yeah subs but still, that Estudiantes won, the Copa Centenario Telecom 2006.

Anyway, anyone knows why the colombian teams that play the Liibertadores seem are interested in playing against lower divisions clubs of Argentina, i mean the saturday Independiente Sta Fe de Bogota played with Los Andres(third division club), a very entertaining match that Los Andes won 3-2, and yesterday Atlético Nacional de Medellin won 2-1 over Talleres Cba.(second division club), in those matches they used that white gold ball of Nike that is being used on the Libertadores.
