Ortega should never play again at River as far as I'm concerned. He spent the entire game looking for his goal just so he could stick it to the fans. His celebration was stupid and showed just how much class he has. The last time he scored against River he was nice about it and asked for forgiveness to the fans, but what he did on Sunday was wrong. I'm glad everyone swore at him and when Newell's come to The Monumental in the Apertura(if he's still there) I hope he gets whistled for the entire 90 mins.

Ronnifan: It's an unwritten rule in football that you don't celebrate a goal against your former team, let alone the club that made you the footballer you are today. :kader:

I guess his celebration, was more like against the River's managment than against River supporters. Like "if you want me to score for you, you got to pay".

Also, did you know that River seems to be interested in Crosa?:funny:
You can see his abilities in that goal of Agüero against Racing.:funny:

U$S 1.600.000

He is pretty much our last resort but I hope that deal doesn't go through. He isn't worth anywhere near that amount. I'd rather bring back el Tano Nasuti. I don't understand what management at River has against him, he was half-decent when he was last with River. The sale of Coty Fernandez is looking like a terrible idea right about now...

San Lorenzo is looking to hire Ramon Diaz.... :kader:

Ortega is coming back to River Plate tommorow. :O

NOB owed him a large amount of money in wages and he decided he gave the president of Newell's an ultimatum: Pay me what you owe me, or sell me to River Plate. If Newell's wouldn't comply with either choice, he would have retired.

Newell's couldn't afford to pay him what they owe and River stepped up their interest and made an offer which was accepted by Newell's. All that remains is for the payment schedule to be worked out and the move will be finalized.

Ortega will only be eligible to play the Copa Libertadores.

I personally don't know what to make of this move. After the loss to NOB I was furious so my comments were in the heat of the moment. His post game interview where he clarified everything went further to cool my anger. I still don't know, this is a lot of money to be paying for a player past his prime.

My fingers are crossed, im hoping this rumour its true...

Ortega is one of the greatest players ive ever seen...

Sadly he will only play in the Libertadores, i was hoping that he could play against Boca...but boca isnt playing the Cup... :kader:

Talking about the game against Banfield, it was a very difficult game. Banfield its a good team and we lost 1-4 against them last year...

Lucho Figueroa scored his first goal, lets hope he keep scoring...

I would like to see sometime Lucho and Farias together...

Why can't Ortega play the Clausura but the CL? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

He wont play any with River...he will stay in Newels, at least until June...

The transfer in the clausura are closed, in the libertadores you have time until 2 hours before your first game in the Libertadores start to sign players...

Well, well Simeone will turn into Racing's new coach before expected, the saturday and not after Independiente's match like it was said. Too bad because that mean that his first match as coach(vs. Independiente) will be a loss.(6)

About Independiente's match, well the bad luck invades again although this time it gave a negative result, many players that got injured during match, Agüero(who will be absent the saturday to he can play the classic the other week, will be replaced by C. Pereyra) Armenteros(who is unknown if will be back the saturday), Biglia who played like most of the match injured with Agüero, and then Fabro who replaced Armenteros 'cuz of his injury and got injured too and also was replaced. The 2 goals were quite of bad luck, the linesmen didn't notice the off-side on the first one, however can't blame him because it was very hard to detect, and the 2nd goal came after Abraham failed to clear the ball out of box(Abraham still lamented that unfortunate play). So quite a loss caus of bad luck, now to wait for Gimnasia LP and specially. GET READY FOR THE CLASSIC.(6)

Lucho is on fire...!!!

He played with a lot of spirit (huevos), in the first half he was too lonley in the attack, becouse Gonzalo Higuain didnt had a good game...

I also liked Zapata, running the entire game, and a great assist in the first goal...

Lux is back to his level...and had great saves...

We improved a lot since our last game vs. Libertad...

Well about Independiente's match not a lot to say, quite like what happened with Argentinos Juniors, bad luck again, if we become champions it won't be because of our luck, also now i guess the lack of Armenteros caused a bit of disorder in the midfield. THE SATURDAY WILL BE THE REAL DEAL.(6)

Well well, Avellaneda's classic, the second most important classic in Argentina, will be the saturday, it'll be Simeone's first match as coach, also for this match both Agüero and Armenteros will be back. Hopefully Carrizo will be starting and Eduardo Dominguez will be the left wing back and Lorgio Alvarez the right wing back.

Also Agüero made his first nike commercial, it's his goal against Racing with his comment on the back, both Agüero and Ustari now wear that Nike happiness wrist band, since they both are Nike kids.

I usually come and post comments regarding the River games but the game wasn't the big story. Sadly, that idiot with a knife from the barra of Colon was the story.

What a disgrace. :kader: No respect or value for a human life. He stabs a guy, slaps a woman in the face, and knocks a little kid out of the stands and to the ground. Of course, he does all this and then gets back into the stands like nothing went wrong, and is treated like royalty by the rest of the Colon fans. :nape:

The video is on youtube but I'd rather not post the link. ******* disgusting. :kader:

Boca Juniors vs. Gimnasia LP

I guess we got to get used to see Vélez and Estudiantes in the top 5, like in these last 2 seasons.:o

Absurd standings: River is the team that scores the most of the goals, 16 goals.
Independiente received the lesser goal, only 3 in the 6 matches so far.
Rosario Central made the lesser goals only 2.
Argentinos Juniors and Banfield(before playing Colón) received most of the goals 10 each one.

Well Abbondanzieri is the only local player going with the national since Ustari got a small injury on his arm, unknown it is if he will play against Quillmes too.

And for the record.

A good result considering that Velez has been a very good and consistent squad for the past 2 years. Nice to see Tecla return to his usual form.(N) Never has he scored a goal in an important match. I seriously hope he shuts me up but I don't see that happening any time soon.

Kun Aguero
A Racing me lo cojo!!!!! and after with Los Leales

This Racing squad is pathetic. They are a bunch of coach killers and now they are torching all of their idols. If they continue like this, Simeone will be gone shortly, which seems very likely. Who the hell would want to coach that squad? :nape:

Hello Guys,

I am a Anderlecht-fan and we recently signed Nicolas Frutos from Independiente (? correct me if I write this is wrong). We are very happy about him: a real teamplayer, some nice moves, quite fast. He already scored 5 goals in 6 games. Anyway: our manager is back in Argentina and the press is suggesting some names: Biglia, Sergio Agüero (!!!)...

I hear Agüero is absolute world class and we are not able to pay him, but we think we can set up a deal with Barcelona, so he can come play two year for us and then goes to Barca...(this is a rumor). So what can you tell me about these players? or Maybe some links?

Well not a lot about Independiente's match, shown a lot of inconsistency in the midfield, Quilmes got some chances but Ustari was there to throw any hope of Quilmes away, same with Ramirez for Independiente, although Quilmes had some more chances, i insist the lack of Armenteros shows to be important in the midfield, Biglia, Agüero and Bustos Montoya tried but couldn't do anything, Machin didn't have a good match, also at Independiente's defense it was a good match of the bolivian Lorgio Alvarez. Bruno and Fredes had good appareances when they entered but couldn't reach the goal. More likely the man of the match was Ustari, how ironic when you think that some hours before the same day Abbondanzieri messed up for the national team.:o

5 goals in 6 matches, heh that's the way of Frutos, maybe he would have been the top scorer in the Apertura but he just left in the middle. Both Biglia and Agüero were teammates of Messi in the U20 world cup, actually Biglia(alongside Ustari(U20 keeper) and Agüero) is being followed for the national team. At Independiente Biglia plays as a left central midfield he has also played as a left midfielder although he needed some company there. Biglia is probably one of the strongest spots of Independiente. To see some videos of Agüero check the previous pages of this thread.
