Those fancy tricks look sweet too!

Hope plenty of modification will be in process like boot making kits adboards all to make it look that much even better and realistic!

This is the best version of the fifa series...but the final result is not so good as i expected:

Tested on: PIV 3,7 Extreme Edition, ATI X1900XTX, 2 Gigs RAM, Sound Blaster Audigy 5.1 Speakers.

GRAPHICS: 7,5/10
May be the more noticeable thing is the look of the grass and this smooth shadows that players cast, aswell illumination, field of view, and the suberb ball texture. Kits are a bit improved, but faces not, it seems the same faces than in 06, world cup, etc. It needs more resolution on the faces textures. Stadium is ok, but crowd is dissapointing, too much pixels. Frame rate is not very good on 1280x1024 with 2x or 4x antialising. If you put off the filters, then the frame rate is reasonable, but you notice the lost of graphics quality. On 1024x768 is ok, but sharpen, but happends the same thing on frame rate if you put high antialising. Cut-Scenes at 3-4 fps with ATI card. I hope that they can solve it, aswell the frame rate, that seems related to an ATI cards problems. (May be is the demo expander, but the linesman skin textures are made with the the same yellow/red corner kick flags). Same referee as always aswell the generic faces, that looks not so good.

GAMEPLAY: 8/10
Really that´s the great point aboout 07, is really improved, turning to a more PES style, may be too much faster, but is ok. Ball physics are really great, bouncing, long passes, etc. Shoots could be better...too much fast. And may be the more important thing, this game does not becomes mechanic like old fifa´s, there´s a lot of options for to play, now to steal a ball is more difficult, is not enought to press the 3 button and wait, now is more real in this aspect. The rhytm of the macth changes a lot, you can play slow, passing, and derrepeat, a quick/good pass and all starts to become faster, very realistic. Rebounds on the players, etc....all of this is really enjoyable, A.I is better. Freekicks are not really acurate....instead, corner kicks are really great...curve effetc, etc. Movements a bit improved, but the real importan improved thing is the ball physics. So, in general, gameplay is really updated....finally.

SOUND: 9/10
Great as always....crowd sounds are the best.

Final Score: 8/10

For to be a demo, and with this ati problems is really ok, but i hope that EA will solve all the problems for the final release. Anyway, is clear that 360 version is or almost seems much better, so i bet for the 360 version (next-gen) instead of this step ahead but leaving important things like graphics on the background. Is clear that EA putted all the enforts on the 360 version, not in the PC one. Better than...but not enought.

Hmmm...may be is the demo expander...i mean, the players come tired and may be they dont run as at the first minute. Anyway, it depends of what player did you use...Messi and Ronaldinho speed of movements are really fast for example....Iniesta not so fast.

So, in the other post i talked about frame rate....may be the game needs another render every frame??

7,9 for graphics!! i just saw a cut-scene where Giggs puts the ball quickly to serve a corner kick...pfff....it was really beatiful......1 sec...by the way...May be EA can do an enffort on the ingame (not cut-scenes) graphics.

Im sure you can choose which dribbling style you wish to use the new one or the fifa 06 right analogue have a look on you tube at fifa 07 ps2 demo jus b4 u kick off it asks what style of dribble technique you wish to use classic or the new 07 style

I have PC demo and i can´t choose any options before the game. It is possible to change the dribbling style in ps2 demo? If yes probably the full version of PC demo will have that option

There is something wrong with the game speed (too furious and frenetic), with game fluidity (a bit choppy) and with ball gravity: but these are things that can be surely fixed by a gameplay. The game seems hard by default at higher difficulties, the AI plays apparently better and indeed the new players movement and models are a great improvement; excellent the new physics and there is a lot to customize and fix. Of course is not the perfect soccer game, but indeed it represents a great evolution of the serie and the work EA did for this version has to be apreciated. I love the new freekicks system.

Here is something new that I just found: To perform a perfect special move make sure that you are in a one-on-one situation and close to the opponent goal area. This imitates real life, and I like how EA has done it this time. No more lame people performing Ronaldinho's flip flop every 2 seconds in an online game.

Hmm i don't like the ball physic. It's better than in fifa 06 but when i use the tele camera an zoom out 100% it feels not good. Maybe i have to zoome in

I like the sounds and the stadiums, the faces are horrible, perhaps EA use 3 faces for all teams...
Also the kits are not good, especially the shorts which looks like a stone. Gameplay better than 06 but not that realistic football game which i like.

i agree with gamerguy350, the pace of the game is quick, while
the players themselves seem slow. if u watch carefully its almost like
they have weights tied to their legs - they look like their putting in alot
of effort to run, but not getting very far...

I never played fifa 06 or the world cup game so does i make all dribbles with my right stick? I noticed that the first touch is still there.
And how can i make a curve for the ball? i use the left stick for playing

I've played it a lot now and the things that let it down are:

• The computer's defence hoof the ball to the centre of the field 99% of the time after they've broken up your attack.
• The ball speed is inconsistent; sometimes it will ping across the field at lightning speed for no real reason. It looks ugly.
• The computer sometimes enjoys the odd spot of scripted pinball passing.
• It seems too easy.

Having said that, it's still a really enjoyable game.

this is the first year i've actually been impressed with FIFA since i started playing PES a few years back. this feels a lot better than previous years. the physics really work well, especially ball physics where it get deflected and knocked around. it really adds a lot. i still feel the long balls and shots are just too fast. i think overall it feels a bit fast, but definately a good step for FIFA. i noticed that through balls can be played really easily without defenders trying to get it, they almost accept the fact that a through ball has been played and they just run along side the attacking player.

Demo thoughts

I have just downloaded the demo. I must admin that it exceeded my expectations.

Finaly it is interesting to shoot and score. Such an improvement in ball physics. Graphic is slightly better and game looks sharper. I can finally see the ball, its texture and spinning. Animations look fluid and cool. I scored some beautiful goals. Nets are not bad too. Finally finally finally EA is on a right track. Just keep it up. Cant wait for a full game and custom patches

It would be nice to have ingame graphics and textures and animations and effects like those seen in cut scenes...

Well after downloading the demo raptor it's improved it greatly!

I mean yeah it's got some room for improvement still, but we have finally got a fifa to be happy about!

Now I love PES aswell, but I think 07 will proudly sit along side it in my collection!

I just hope that EA have made final tweaks to the gameplay like most do for the main release, shooting just needs a little change, but i'm sure it will be sharpened up!

Who'd have thought that after 4 years laying turds, EA have finally laid the golden nugget!
