and I also predicted The Aviator to take the technical awards and it won the first one for Art Direction.

yep, Cate Blanchett won. I finally went with Virginia Madsen but Blanchett gave the better performance between the two IMO.

I was rooting for Natalie Portman.

Shocking that Clive Owen didn't win

The smaller film (read "Closer") got screwed once again in favour of the big one (Aviator).

Always the same sh*t at the oscars over and over again

forgot to say, Born Into Brotherls won Best Documentary. I havent seen it but I heard it was truly an awesome film.


Limony Snicket won Best MakeUp (I predicted The Passion to win that one :( )

Spiderman takes Best Special Effects as expected (Y)

also, Sideways took Adapted Screenplay which was almost a lock but if M$B had won that one then it was most probably to win Best Picture.

Im thinking The Aviator is going to win it all now.
